I have a 20+ year old Southern Cross double swag. Not one fault with it in that time. Quality Australian product. Vinyl floor is strong and better than canvas base, mattress was replaced many many years ago. No comparison with the cheaper imported brands.
Thankyou mate for an excellent review! I got better info here than on the Southern Cross website. Still unsure about this because of the price and as you pointed out the mattress. I'd feel a bit jipped paying what their asking and having to shell out more for a Clark Rubber foam underlay too. Anyway, thanks for taking the time to put it together and showing us this swag. By the way, does it have storage pockets on the inside for phones or glasses?
Gday mate! Sorry for the late reply! Yes the swag does have a pocket that fits keys and a phone. It also has some loops on the inside along the ridge line so you can hang stuff aswell. Hope that helps!
Had nothing but trouble with a SC single swag purchased 6 years ago. Leaked all the time and pole split. Returned it three times for no satisfaction. Eventually they provided a clip on weather strip. Amazingly all the current models have the weather strip permanently attached!!! Say no more!
i have southerncross king dome and single and both they came with with high quality eggshell mattresses bought them 2009, maybe they cutting cost? to compete with the $200 Chinese knock offs? no regrets i love my aussie made swags

Doing a short list this swag scores a no.1 on 4x4 action/swags of glory i was looking at today, maybe they're full of shit and biased like the abc but i was hoping that mattress was my magic carpet ride!
Gday Scott! My biggest drama with this swag is the size, its over a year since I made the video and I have maybe used it twice. My goto swag has been the OzTrail Mitchell King for the last year, or my old AOS king single. I drove from Perth to Hobart last last year with this bad boy on the roof racks, I might do another update video in a week or two, and make a review on the OzTrail Mitchell King Dome while im at it. Mate I have the Kings Swag from the 4WD Supacentre. I'm a big bloke and me and the missus have heaps of room. easy to set-up. Pack-up was a pain, until you get the hang of it. No problems now.. I bought a self-inflating mattress to go inside, as I was not sure about how the mattress would go. Did not need it and have not used it to this day. The mattress is super comfy and to be honest, I have a great nights sleep every time.For the price you can't go wrong. Basically, you can buy 4 or 5 swags for the price of that one. Quality is just as good and I have had no problems.
