I know im randomly asking but does any of you know a way to log back into an Instagram account..? I stupidly lost the account password. I would appreciate any tricks you can give me.
@Ben Raphael Thanks for your reply. I got to the site thru google and I'm trying it out atm. Takes a while so I will reply here later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
Great review. I have had a Southern Cross canvas swag for the last 22 years. Not a single problem. One pole, super comfy. Australian designed and made, simplicity at its best.
i know its months on but a trick with d rings is when you go back over double up to create a loop. Then its as simple as pulling the tag for it to undo
Three of my end poles split. Were replaced under warranty, but hard to get waited several weeks. It appears to be a common problem. Also I fingd the zips are difficult to pull along. When I put bedding in, it was too big for bag, and compression straps so I bought bigger zero23 bag and extra pair straps. All works well, but had to make said adjustments.
Ive got the Darche dirty dee 1400. I use a zempire monstamat as the mattress and its so bloody comfy! The swag has heaps of head height which is a must for me. I hate feeling claustrophobic.
I’ve got the same one and have eliminated most of the sagging in the canvas by marking where the spreader pole sits tightest with paint marker. It’s much easier to assemble before instead of putting that pole through the holes and spreading if you know what I mean.
I have always had darche swags , we still have 2 a single AWOL and a double calibre. I ended up buying a crashpad double swag well over a year ago and I have to say I'm very impressed with both brands . One thing that I do like better about the crash pad tho is the bag is so big you don't need straps to suck it in and the swag is very easy to get into the bag.
Have the single version on an Oztent RS1 stretcher ......... great set up . Mine came with the 70mm mattress standard . More comfy than my own bed at home
Great review Alex, I can vouch for Darche's warranty as an eyelet on mine popped out, they sent a whole set to me. I am pretty sure the new models are 70mm mattresses now. My upgrade will be the dirty dee 1400, more poles but I love the look and no sagging, but until 1100 ridgedome gives out (probably never) I don't have a need to upgrade. 👍👍🍻
Great video bud :) I love my D Rings too.... only issue was the strap got too old and brittle, so that was the thing that went on my Oztrail Mitchell Double Swag. Cheers, Don (Dons Shed and Xplor Overland)
I've had my 23zero swag for a few months now....EXACTLY the same swag, mine has 70mm bed, paid $370 I think to my front door, excellent service from 23zero Melbourne. Put yellow cable ties on zips, easy to find at night. Use inside loops for torch holder. Use a spring clamp (Bunnings) to hold flap partially open. Size is perfect for me, big enough to sleep, small enough to carry & stow. Rarely peg ends out. Bag a fraction short. Best swag I've owned, 9/10....
Darche are a awesome swag, like others have mentioned the poles are crap. "BUT" Darche have rectified this upgrading the poles to alloy. 👌👏 (Currently available now with the 2022 update models, or can purchase the poles separately)
I have the Dusk till Dawn 1400, I also got the 1400 Darche self inflating mattress, I just throw it on top on the mattress that's already in there, very comfortable! The only issue with the mattress is that its a pain in the arse to roll back up, and wont really fit into the swag bag with everything else, So i bought a second 1400 swag bag, and place other things in there as well. I've seen people use a pool noodle for the sagging issues in the middle, I might try it in the future, but I'm not really bothered by it atm.
I have always wondered about the Oz Tent instant tents compared to a swag. We like to have a large(ish) area for day use to get away from flies and the instant tents look like they would be good for quick setup and good for day use and sleeping. Basic models are about double the price of this swag but the extra convenience could be worth it. Strangely not one of the channels I watch seems to use them - I'm guessing there must be a reason for that.
I travelled around Oz with an RV5. Comfy for day use but has its down sides. Its big and heavy. Can't handle wind. Storms were scary in it, frame snapped on third night from wind. I now use a swag for sleeping and a cheap pop-up tent for day use
how does it compare to the kings, i have one and the floor leaks like a sieve where the peg rings are stiched tobthe floor im looking at getting a new swag, and wondering if the quality is a lot better, i dont wanna buy anotjer one in 18 months time
Never a drop has leaked into this one, the canvas is a little thicker than the kings, and it doesn't sag in the middle as much. The poles are much firmer too. The bags are way different, this one has a nice tough bag made out of the same canvas as the swag. I believe kings ones have some sort of nylon bag
yeah the kings one has a weird nylon bag that isnt waterproof and tears, i cant really complain i got it for 169 bucks and its kept me warm on some pretty cold nights, well ill def be havin a look at the darche,
It’s damn close, optically the same. Replacement bag the same too. Kings has a 70mm mattress. Canvas is 400 not 420. Darche is great, but boy there is $$ attached to that name.
Yeah the glue seems to get hot on the Velcro dots then just melts and falls off. The drawers are marine carpeted so patches just stick straight to it 😁
Great timing in this review - I am considering either the D-D 1100 or the 1400..... How do you find the “rolling up”, being that it is 140cm wide - do you find it difficult, especially when packing up in wet conditions. I had also considered the 23Zero, but want to stick with Australian company... Thanks for the review...
Yeah it's a Grabmegear tailgate bag. GrabMeGear.com is where you'll find them. I have the spare wheel mounted version and it's excellent. The Triton owner is @4x4campingadventures and you might find something said about it on his TH-cam channel
If you look near the end of this video you'll catch a few scenes I inserted with it being used in the rain. That was fully pegged out so should give you an idea
Darche really need to look at getting their products made in Australia. I realise this would mean a price increase but in the current Covid environment, China has become a bad flavour Australia. That said I own a Darche awning and I’m super happy with it. Please Darche, make your stuff here and become the brand that we want you to be!
I have had a kulkyne queen size for a few years now and never see much reviews on them. They claim to have originally brought out the dome swag design.. Never had a problem with it and now you can get a deluxe 10cm duel density matress for them. This dosnt look any different to my kulkyne swag.
I've done this a couple of times and it's pretty bloody good actually 😁 THESE days however....everyone carries too much shit in the back and there's no way they'd fit in there to sleep haha
Yes if you are over 80kg you need better than stock mattresses, swag Mattresses are anon issue as far as I am concerned, foam is cheap and getting them covered is not hard to do yourself, we all know someone with a sewing machine.
Nice Review but I can't understand why folks like swags. They huge, heavy and take up so much space. I use a msr hubba tent. Just as quick to set up as a swag but has more room, is lighter and takes up less room. Each to their own of course but I'm baffled.
@@BrycePurden its out of the way on roof then its gone when your camping and back on when your going home everyone has different ways of camping and it works best for me
Buy a real tent that will work on and has been proven on Everest, a Hilleberg I've used one on a Caribou hunt on the tundra in 70 mph wind no problem they cost more but will last 100 years
Yeah it is pretty similar to kings. But kings don't have the eyelets on the door flaps. I think that is an awesome idea so you can use it as an awning. Might look at getting one of these when my kings one fails.
I have a Darche Roof top tent and compared it to the Kings before purchasing. There is absolutely no part of a Kings tent that compares to Darche in quality. Whilst they may look similar on camera as soon as you get inside and inspect the little things you know where the money went in a Darche product. Kings gear is great if you want something to work a couple of times a year but if you have the cash and want kit to last out bush for a long time Darche is the way to go.
Its crap, Chinese rip off, Did not last a night - got soaked in the one we bought. Seasoned it 2 days prior to the trip. Took it back to the store and bought a real swag made in Australia. Any swag not made in China might be ok but all Darche product are made by the Chinese
Cheers for this review mate! Really appreciate the detailed info about our swag - keep it up!

What a good looking triton I mean swag 😉

Good call. I've had those plastic deals break the first time I've tightened them up. Metal D-rings for the win.

They have some really interesting designs at 23zero 😁 sounds like you've got it down to an art with your little mods there too.

Considered it but got the 23zero based on recommendations it might just pip this to the post. Both good swags 👍
I think the 23zero had just come out when I bought this, and the mattresses were reportedly a bit lacklustre then. I believe they improved that.
@@Alex.G it’s got a 70mm mattress now I believe. It’s actually a touch on the firm side for me but some like that.

Have the 1100 and it’s the best swag I’ve owned. Very good quality. shits all over the kings big daddy.

I am surprised how easy I find it to roll up. With the two sleeping bags in I get my knees on it as I roll and it goes in the bag every time 🙂
Great review.
Can I ask is that a tailgate bag hanging of the Tritan. Can you maybe do a review on that or a let us know where it was purchased.
Pretty sure its a 'grab me gear' bag. Check www.grabmegear.com.au

Hi mate.. I'm thinking of getting the 1100 version .. just how bad is the side sagging on the 1400 when it is properly pegged out ?
If you look near the end of this video you'll catch a few scenes I inserted with it being used in the rain. That was fully pegged out so should give you an idea

Interesting vid about the swag.
Another question which carpet are you using.
You mean the bit under the swag? If so it's a Red Roads groundsheet
Nice. Nearly as big as a tent! Where do you put your boots?
I poke the boots just under that end awning piece there 🙂 I wear a low cut hiking shoe which fits there okay but a larger boot you might struggle with
My kulkyne swag comes with zip up boot bags on each side. Very handy to stow your boots so they stay dry and safe
Is there a stretcher for that model?
Nope, Darche don't make one. Other Brands have 1400 stretchers, but they have a pole running down the middle, that would annoy the crap outta me!
I have had a kulkyne queen size for a few years now and never see much reviews on them. They claim to have originally brought out the dome swag design.. Never had a problem with it and now you can get a deluxe 10cm duel density matress for them. This dosnt look any different to my kulkyne swag.
That would be awesome if it had a little porch or awning to keep my shoes dry from the dew or a little rain.
Yeah! I actually poke mine around under that little end cover where the guy rope ties it out. It's just big enough for boots if I place them carefully
The darche nebula has an awning
Ha ha, double the hate, thumbs down twice!🤣 Good review.

You obviously have never camped in the harsh Australian outback... that's what decent swags like Darche are designed and built for
