This video shows all the modifications I made to my Tamiya Clodbuster. If you'd like to make any of the parts for yourself (non commercial only), you can download the files for free here: www.printables.com/model/82293-complete-upgrade-set-for-tamiya-super-clod-buster If you want to see more like this, please leave a comment below and I'll start documenting other projects.
Wow... that is absolutely one of the best custom looking Clods I've ever seen. Super cool looking. Thanks for sharing all the custom parts you created. Still can't get over how EPIC yours looks..
Nice weathering. And a nice touch with the dog model and her ashes. After my almost 15 year old Yellow Lab died, I made a Tamiya Mazda 3 model (same as our car), cut out one of the back windows, and made a platform for a Yellow Lab model to sit in the back seat with his head out the window.
I'm bored with weathering on crawlers, cause everyone does it. But on a Clod? I've never seen it. This is brilliant. And kudos for weathering the wheels. They're often overlooked
Ok…I’ve been banging around trying to figure out a summer RC project. This video clinched it for me…I’ve always wanted a Clod…and I have a 3D printer…such a great job!!!
I love it!!! Very well done and I really love the small details like the flickering tail light, the blower butterflies, the exhaust tips... all really cool! I would love to re-create something similar to this at some point so I really appreciate you linking the parts and providing them to us!
Nice work, thank you! I'd love to see your truck driving around in a future video. If the build is not a shelf queen that is. Liked and subscribed. Thanks again and cool driver👍
Thanks! It's a relatively expensive kit, but I reckon anything with a hard body makes a good project. I'm working on a Lunchbox at the mo. Cheers, John
Very cool!!! I'm a huge Clod fan, have 4 including my original! This is an amazing rig! Love it! Love the 'Apocalypse' theme!!! Inspiring me to try weathering some of my rigs!
been using some of your files with my own clod and having a blast though i'm still struggling with painting but thats more a issue in general is I suck at painting ANYTHING! But I've made myself a driver from a bunch of scrapped together gunpla pieces an put a fpv camera in the head and I can wait to get more of this sorted to drive it in first person an see the dash an wheel move along with the rest of the truck
Awesome looking Clod, the flickering tail light made me laugh. I had a real square body many years ago tail light did that exact same thing! Now I want to learn some Fusion 360 and buy a printer.
Thanks! They're are some great channels on TH-cam - this one is particularly good: th-cam.com/users/Fusion360School As Fusion360 is free for non-commercial use (you just have to renew your licence every year), you can have a good play with it to pick things up.
Sure! I have pics, but never filmed the process as it's meant to be for fun when I do them. Have done a King Hauler, a Sand Scorcher, and am working on a Lunch Box at the mo. Cheers, John
love it, but, not to be a stickler but you did all that work but still have the body posts sticking through the body.... like I said beautiful build regardless, no body posts would have completed it.
I did think about filling them and using magnets, but it's a really heavy body, and I wanted it to stay on in use. All the models I've built since also retain the body posts as I like to drive them. This has had a bit of damage through crashing, but it works with the look of it, fortunately
I think so, but check the voltage requirements of whichever you buy. I doubt much has NiCd now, does it? NiMH at most, surely? Unless it's proper old-school

Thanks very much! It's a lot easier to hide mistakes with weathering! Cheers, John

Fantastic! Have fun.
Amazing build, I’ve loved the Clod Buster since I was a kid in the 80’s, and this is definitely the coolest version I’ve ever seen. Nice work!
Thanks so much! Cheers, John
Man that looks awesome, love the interior with the dash lights.

Best pull my finger out I guess! Cheers, John
Nice work, thank you! I'd love to see your truck driving around in a future video. If the build is not a shelf queen that is. Liked and subscribed. Thanks again and cool driver👍
Thanks! It's top heavy so handles terribly, but all of them are intended to drive. Cheers, john
Wow that thing looks amazing..

Amazing work on that Clodbuster, man!

Thank you so much for inspiration! I can't decide to buy this car for a project or not.
Thanks! It's a relatively expensive kit, but I reckon anything with a hard body makes a good project. I'm working on a Lunchbox at the mo. Cheers, John

That sounds brilliant! I've got a camera fixed in another car, but putting it in the driver's head is genius. Cheers, John
Man that clod is awesome looking one of a kind for sure 👌 love the dog
Thanks very much! Cheers, John
❤ The touches are awesome! 💯%👍

That is fantastic work from all the 3d printed bits to the bodywork. Are you going to share any other vehicles. Great work again

Hello this is awesome 👍👍👍👍

Maybe you'll add a smoke emitter on it ,that'll complete the scale look
I have been looking at videos about them...

Bruse willis 😮 behond the wheel
Is that Bruce Willis in the driver seat?
Yeah, from Pulp Fiction
How did you go about attaching the wire screen/mesh to the inside of the truck cab for the windows?
I just used two-part epoxy for that

I am curious, will the sound module work with a non lipo power source like ni-cad?
I think so, but check the voltage requirements of whichever you buy.
I doubt much has NiCd now, does it? NiMH at most, surely? Unless it's proper old-school
Just mine. lol I’m old. Built my trucks and boats in the 90’s
Driver looks like Mel Gibson
It's an action figure character of Butch from Pulp Fiction (Bruce Willis)
@@goodtobegeek lol I had my names wrong
that looks suspiciously similar to my real squarebody before I started restoring it. If you have an email, Ill send pics
Pop them into a video - would be cool to see
