  • Undoubtfully the best junkyard fan you can buy. This is the dual bladed ford contour fan that we use in our fox body mustangs. They fit a lot of aluminum radiators for many different brands. True test pound for pound right to a power source..

Got mine from LMR and it's the same shit. It keeps my car cool but it definitely aint like a factory unit.
Have the mad scientist turn on the electric fan trigger on your A9L. Works great.

I bought my contour fans off ebay for 83.00 lol they work great, I don't have an oem ford to compare them to though. My problem is when the come on they almost stall the car. I have a 200 amp alternator and all new wiring, 2 85 amp relays..they are running off the terminator x.

Man thank you for doing this. The repop would not cool my turbo car well... but everyone always says "Contour Contour Contour"... maybe the original would do the job but I went back to the good ol' mechanical and no more cooling issues for me.

1993 5.0, automatic, A/C, Mark VIII with Autocool controller never goes past midrange. The Autocool has no relays to burn out, the fan only comes on after radiator reaches160 ( temperature sensor at the return side ), or, when A/C turned on. Has a 30 second run after engine is turned off. The only down side is that the engine has no air flow during stops when A/C is not running. The TFI failed after a year running the E-fan, after relocating the TFI to the fender with a heat sink there has been no issues for 2 years now.

A $12 anamometer is wonderful device.
I use them on all radiators and AC vents.
Youd be surprised how much underdrive pulleys kill airflow.🤔

Great video. just seen it. the question is , Can you still find a Contour in the junkyard? Here in MI they've been gone for years. Don't see any on the road anymore either.
I would like to do the swap on my 88 stang but if i can not find one what is the alternative ? the Dorman one? My car is not boosted in any way, So even the Dorman i think will work . Tauruses are still lurking around but in fewer numbers. What years will work on the Stang?

Thanks for the info. I have a couple of these in the building that I’ve gotten at the junkyards. I currently have the clutch fan on my turbo 306 Fox but will be swapping to this the electric.
The part that I have a issue with the most is about running the electric fan from a toggle switch or from prop so it kicks on and off when it’s required. I kinda want both ways so I can turn it on when I need/want to. The issue with having it on a switch is leaving it on and battery running dead.

I ran it dual relay on both my white mustang and project hot wheels. Didn’t pull a ton of amps. And each had their own relay so if one died other kept it from boiling over.
