Why does someone switching devices required to purchase a charger when that device requires a charger to work?! Samsung has the better display hands down. They also have better features and with their new promise of 7 years of updates I’d go for the S24 ultra That being said I really like the curved glass on the oneplus. It reminds me of my Note 8 that I still play with to this day.
I mean if Money ain't the issue then S24 ultra..... But even if we compare them without considering the price.... OnePlus beats S24 ultra in some scenarios except the cameras.... Like charging speed, battery, aqua touch, display....
I had the OnePlus 7 Pro and loved it. Loved the OS as well. Spend some time with it and see if it doesn't just make sense to you. Thanks for this review.
Yeah people hating on the curved screen is annoying. It wasn't until recently that Samsung started switching over but people still buying their phones. I don't get the pointless hate. It was probably cheaper for OnePlus to use a curved screen anyway. Still a high quality display. Dual sim is also awesome! IR Blaster. Top end ram and storage speeds. HDMI out on the charging port. Max charger in the box. Fast wireless charging. Cameras may not be the absolute top end but the fact that they are comparable to other high end phones speaks volumes. In the end, OnePlus is showing us that people are paying way to much for a high-end phone. We need more companies in this space to show us what a high-end phone can be. While I wish it still had a headphone jack and more secure face unlock, you're getting a lot for your money here.
For me this is the phone of the year. With the same performance as the more expensive ones and that screen is du sick with that charging, just crazy and the cameras are actually really good, very good colors patterns with that Hasselblad brand plus how smooth the phone feels scrolling through apps and so on, ultra smooth.
Might be an Apple gatekeeping thing, but Apple Music refresh rate looks horrible on OnePlus, but I don't that issue on Galaxy. Also have the refresh rate set to high explicitly.
Alright, I've got to chime in on the curved screen debate, and honestly, it's not really my cup of tea. Now, don't get me wrong, I totally get why some folks might be all over that look - it's sleek, it's modern, it's...curvy. But let me lay it out straight for you. Firstly, the whole ordeal with screen protectors on these curved displays? Forget about it. Trying to get one to fit perfectly is like trying to solve a Rubik's cube blindfolded. Then there's the whole thing about holding the phone. Every time I grip one of those curved beauties, I feel like I'm one wrong move away from turning it into modern art. Sure, you might have the grip of a rock climber, but for me? It just feels off. Now, I've heard there are cases out there that kind of give you the best of both worlds - the illusion of a curved screen with the peace of mind that comes with a flat one. To each their own, right? It's all about preference at the end of the day.
It's a bit unfortunate that the one thing that he was really pushing was the one thing that puts me off. I agree with your points, it's definitely a flat screen for me
I got a screen protector on my one plus 12 in a single go without any hassle that is also for under 5$ and it has been two months it's still pretty solid.
I agree. The software will be the thing that makes or breaks it. I'm looking to replace my note20u as my travel phone (fold 4 is my faily driver) and i just can't give up how good and useful the samsung gallery photo/video editor is out of the box
Why would you have to live without AI? In fact, a software update was just released in China for the OnePlus 12 that offers several AI features. In addition, that same update will be available globally in the near future. Actually, I rather like the camera bump. I think it gives the device a very unique look. Personally, I didn't care for the nine or 10 series but, the 11 was awesome.
No, that's a lousy phone. A macro camera and not even a real 2x option? Those two secondary cameras shouldn't even be there, it's literally decoration. It's a cheap gimmick like in a 150 usd Chinese phone
I think Oxygen OS bought COLOR OS, so I think they got merged? I might be wrong on that however. The OnePlus 12 is an amazing phone however. 80W wired & 50W wireless charging is phenomenal
Its actually the other way around. OPPO which owns Oneplus got rid of Oxygen OS and made Color OS the default. Because of backlash they went back to the Oxygen OS name but kept the software skin of Color OS
@G0A7 The name Color OS is only in china but they are the exact same piece of software, the only difference is the name. After the merge Oxygen OS lost alot of things including day one Google updates before Android 12 released now they are one of the worst software skins when it comes to software updates. Oxygen OS used to get day one beta updates alongside google's android release. If Oxygen OS and Color OS never merged, almost all Oneplus phones would have gotten the Android 15 beta with the pixels 😢
You forgot to mention this screen has aqua touch that means you can use it under moderate rain or having wet hands other thing is 100watt charger which charges the phone under 25 min 0-100% also the IR blaster which can be used to operate any electronic device without having a remote that means ac,tv.
USA OP 12 on Amazon Prime Day was 25% off for $599, no questions asked as i bought my previous phone OP7T on prime day March 2020 for $460 (including tax). Unless the 7pro is rooted, it is. My 7 pro still feels as snappy as when it was new. I have an s23 ultra and I still get a smile when I pick up my old 7 pro. Definitely was future proof.
I have the OnePlus 12, it's a great phone specs wise on paper but to me fall short on the battery side. What I meant by battery, my s23 ultra can last a whole day without plugging it into charge, but my OnePlus 12 I have to charge at least once a day, I don't know what's causing the battery drain but does anybody else have this issue?
considering this or the samsung 24+... I'm in the US. I tried out the Xperia and there just were some things I didn't like about the camera and some of the app settings. Ended up returning it. Cant decide between which of these to try next now
My only drawback is the slow software updates (my OnePlus Open is still on Android 13 and no word of when 14 is dropping) and the supposed heating, which I’ve seen multiple videos of benchmark and battery drain tests hitting around 60 degrees with heavy use. Long term, idk about this phone.
OnePlus has one of the best phone support of any android oem. The 7 has Android 12 and that phone was so old. This one has Android 14 out the box. I'm on the open too myself but am in no rush since Android 14 turn my pixel into a heating pad. Faster updates aren't always great imo.
@@DUICE08 I mean I would hope this one has Android 14, lol it’s brand new. No excuses for a $1700 OnePlus Open to not have Android 14. And I can’t say I agree with that, release a software in a decent time frame then release hotfixes and patches. That Shows the software support side of a company. If it’s slow then that’s not a good sign on the company.
@@superiortoall22 but they have a great track history, for years they were way better than Samsung in that regard. I don't think it's a bad sign considering their history. Samsung just now doing what they supposed to buy people forget their history and think them to be the standard. Not saying that's the case with you. And I get your point. Very valid.
@@DUICE08 I guess that makes sense; from a broad perspective, they are doing more than most Android manufacturers. You got Sony and ROG releasing $1500+ phones with only 2 OS updates so it could be worse. I guess companies releasing phones without updating their previous ones just rub me the wrong way. But different strokes for different folks, I suppose. I’m very critical of companies and their OS support since it’s probably the most expensive part of their company.
Oneplus updates in the US are slow. They prioritize the Indian market since they are bigger there. I don't knock them for that, I would rather them prioritize that market and keep the company a float. That's a lot better then them focusing too much on the US market, become less profitable, and then exit tge US market completely. I do agree though, the OnePlus Open is so expensive and should have Android 14 by now. There's some rumors about Oppo, OnePlue parent company, exiting the foldable market,
hey i have a question. I want to safe battery health by wanting to use a slower battery charging brick instead of the one they give us. Can i use the USB C GaN Charger 30W • Anker 511 Charger (Nano 3) • PIQ 3.0 Foldable PPS Fast Charger for the one plus 12? I know the main perk of the phone is due to its super fast charging and i will use that when im in a rush but when i just want to charge it normally can i use that anker 30w brick?
You can limit the charging speed on the included brick inside the phone settings. Though, charging speed barely affects the lifespan of the battery health. One of the most important variables is limiting the maximum charge so that the phone doesn't go above 80 to 85%. It's best to use fast charging and then stop charging altogether at 80 or 85% battery life. The most important things are not using the phone while charging, and keeping the battery between 20 and 80% capacity. I've done that on all my phones for the last several years and I've stopped having battery health issues. I also keep my phones for about 2 and a half to three and a half years so it's not like I'm going through them yearly.
@@HowlingMoai sweet sounds good. Yeah I'm currently making sure I don't charge above 80 percent and charge it within 20-30 percent. I plan on having this phone for like 3 years so hopefully it goes well. Thanks for the heads up 😃
Great video. I want this phone so bad but, I am big on camera quality (not videos) as I have kids and my phone is my only camera. Trying to decide between OP12 and the Pixel 8 pro. Tired of Apple. 🙄
This is a great phone. I hope one plus fixed the auto brightness 🔅 issues were it does to dark or to light which was quite annoying.I had to use manual brightness 🔅.
The main reason S24 Ultra feels so terrible in the hand in comparison, even though they have pretty much the same screen size, is that Samsung has a giant, thick frame which makes it over 3mm wider. On first look you can't tell, because the screen itself has very thin black border, however, the actual titanium, bright frame of the phone makes the phone thick and impossible to use with one hand, even for people with big hands(like me). I owned ROG Phone 5 at one point which was a really wide boy (77.3mm), but S24 is even wider. Unless you are Shaq, you have to deal with the fact that it's a two-hand device 100% of the time, especially since you need to add a few millimeters for the case. It's ridiculous that it feels huge even compared to the absurdly enormous 14 Pro Max. OnePlus 12 feels absolutely amazing in the hand in comparison.
I sent my OnePlus 12 back for a refund, the clock on the lock screen and the notification shade is unusable because OnePlus made a stupid decision to make the hour digits deep red when they are '1'. Everyone is complaining about it, I went though the OnePlus support channels and this was the reply I received: `I would like to kindly inform you that the red number 1 is a tribute to our brand, it's part of OnePlus logo. It always been red for number one in OnePlus clocks. Therefore, you can rest assured the clock is not broken. This is a default feature and it cannot be changed.` My current phone is a OnePlus 3T, and it does not have an unreadable red clock. Why no-one mentions this in reviews is beyond me as being able to quickly tell the time is basic functionality. Community posted workarounds do not work. I'm not rooting my phone and breaking my banking apps and google pay to try and fix it myself.
With such software the device is not called high-end unfortunately. Anyone scrolling and touching in the system launcher and system menus quickly will experience a 2 seconds delay after the touches and some non responsiveness. Software smoothness of the previous decade.
Correct. It’s called finger clubbing. It can also be congenital with no pathology involved, but like you said, he should have a medical doctor check it out to be sure it’s nothing serious.
I'm using S9 at the moment. I shattered my OP8 Pro screen. To be honest S9 is kinda slow and sluggish. It even almost freezes sometimes with multitasking. But it still works and is very usable.
Personally I hated the S24U lens design. If you are on the run and want to take a picture you have to clean the single lenses which takes you a minute instead of just wiping one single glass as on any Chinese phone.
Only if you want to try a different Android skin. If you are use to One UI and prefer it, stay with it. Even though it's all Android, different software skins can make all of the difference in the world when using the phone.

Why would you have to live without AI? In fact, a software update was just released in China for the OnePlus 12 that offers several AI features. In addition, that same update will be available globally in the near future.
Actually, I rather like the camera bump. I think it gives the device a very unique look.
Personally, I didn't care for the nine or 10 series but, the 11 was awesome.
yeah AI features are cooominnggg
1:12 Flagship killer opened with a killer knife😅
Awsummm Review Bro 👌🏻✨
the oneplus 12R is the REAL killer. the most underrated phone ive seen in my entire life
No, that's a lousy phone. A macro camera and not even a real 2x option? Those two secondary cameras shouldn't even be there, it's literally decoration. It's a cheap gimmick like in a 150 usd Chinese phone
@@Cptblogh iqoo neo 9 pro is a better deal
I think Oxygen OS bought COLOR OS, so I think they got merged? I might be wrong on that however. The OnePlus 12 is an amazing phone however. 80W wired & 50W wireless charging is phenomenal
More or less right yeah, coloros and oxygenos are supposed to start merging some features since oneplus is an oppo subbrand
Its actually the other way around. OPPO which owns Oneplus got rid of Oxygen OS and made Color OS the default. Because of backlash they went back to the Oxygen OS name but kept the software skin of Color OS
@@leone-mobilegame1754 Wasnt that only in china for now? I tought they kept both outside while little by little merging both in the same os
@@G0A7They Fully merged 2 years ago with Oxygen OS 12, it wasnt china only.
A day in the life would siiiiick
I too like curved screens 😊
Hello does the superfast charge kills the battery overtime?
Great review
I think Oneplus 12 is the best budget phone. S24U cost like $1200 and OP12 is $800.
yeah in my country, OnePlus costs 800 usd but s24 ultra base version costs 1600+ usd
That phone had no IP rating, I work as a chef and put it through hell and left it on a street for hours getting run over by vehicles and the old Gorilla Glass screen never had an issue, tho the camera glass and glass back was fukt just using the case OP provided
24:51 I rewinded this so many times😂
Would you consider a OnePlus 12 to be an upgrade from pixel 7 pro?
Unless the 7pro is rooted, it is. My 7 pro still feels as snappy as when it was new. I have an s23 ultra and I still get a smile when I pick up my old 7 pro. Definitely was future proof.
I would except in the camera area, that's still the Pixel 7 Pro, as I have one as well.
Watching you on my One+ 7 Pro
I like Curved Screen Phones. I am from India I like OnePlus. I am a big fan of the OnePlus
Thank you

Feel so good in the hands.
Ladies, you know the procedures
You can adjust the colors on the OP12
I have the OnePlus 12, it's a great phone specs wise on paper but to me fall short on the battery side. What I meant by battery, my s23 ultra can last a whole day without plugging it into charge, but my OnePlus 12 I have to charge at least once a day, I don't know what's causing the battery drain but does anybody else have this issue?
5g
@@timofeyo4002 yeah I turned that off already
Not at all, my battery life is stellar. I did have a day or two where it drained but the update fixed that.
considering this or the samsung 24+... I'm in the US. I tried out the Xperia and there just were some things I didn't like about the camera and some of the app settings. Ended up returning it. Cant decide between which of these to try next now
2:31 Priceless
Curved display 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Love it😊

There's some rumors about Oppo, OnePlue parent company, exiting the foldable market,
Curve up here yoooo!!!!!
hey i have a question.
Thanks for the heads up 😃
Sadly infamous red green blue line still comes on One plus inherited from 10 r . Though it gets removed through Software update😅
That sponsor thing was funny ASF 😂😂😂
Great video. I want this phone so bad but, I am big on camera quality (not videos) as I have kids and my phone is my only camera. Trying to decide between OP12 and the Pixel 8 pro. Tired of Apple. 🙄
Watching this from an oneplus 12
I looove curved display
Still have Galaxy s9. *curved display fan club*
I also love curved displays
Why are the images on the hands so blurry but shown in the video very sharp?

Is this just as customizable as samsung . Im on the fence, i want to try this but im in the samsung eco system
Nice review, u showing more of the phone than your face. some reviewers act like they are reviewing themselves
lol fr
10:07, the colours bleed a lot on the s24 ultra
It's not dual SIM is 3 SIM you got esim and that two the only thing I wish that they didn't have the 24g ram and 1tb for global
I sent my OnePlus 12 back for a refund, the clock on the lock screen and the notification shade is unusable because OnePlus made a stupid decision to make the hour digits deep red when they are '1'. Everyone is complaining about it, I went though the OnePlus support channels and this was the reply I received:
`I would like to kindly inform you that the red number 1 is a tribute to our brand, it's part of OnePlus logo. It always been red for number one in OnePlus clocks. Therefore, you can rest assured the clock is not broken. This is a default feature and it cannot be changed.`
My current phone is a OnePlus 3T, and it does not have an unreadable red clock.
Why no-one mentions this in reviews is beyond me as being able to quickly tell the time is basic functionality. Community posted workarounds do not work. I'm not rooting my phone and breaking my banking apps and google pay to try and fix it myself.
Watching on my OnePlus 12 ❤
How is this?
subscribed as soon as he sniffed the phone. I do this too.
The charger is the best feature of this phone and they're giving it to you for free.
Love ❤ mine 😊
With such software the device is not called high-end unfortunately. Anyone scrolling and touching in the system launcher and system menus quickly will experience a 2 seconds delay after the touches and some non responsiveness. Software smoothness of the previous decade.
I love curved screens giving my s24 back
Should i turn off 10 bit for camera?
'Smells like fish', made me subscribed
pls review a doctor about the shape of ur nails, i have read that it can be a sign of liver issues or something like that, be blessed.
Correct. It’s called finger clubbing. It can also be congenital with no pathology involved, but like you said, he should have a medical doctor check it out to be sure it’s nothing serious.
I'm going for the black I think
Yes good choice.
@@Mhavid26 I bought it 100% happy with it
I did the same, love it
I understand that the battery life is amazing!! What do you think?
I have a s9 😁 and it has a pretty great curved display, now every time I get a newly released phone I think their displays are bad :P
I'm using S9 at the moment. I shattered my OP8 Pro screen. To be honest S9 is kinda slow and sluggish. It even almost freezes sometimes with multitasking. But it still works and is very usable.
I got the OnePlus 11 a few months a ago for $400. I don't like the camera, but for $400 it's OK and I just use GCam.
Personally I hated the S24U lens design. If you are on the run and want to take a picture you have to clean the single lenses which takes you a minute instead of just wiping one single glass as on any Chinese phone.
Give me a flat display but i want a curved phone case.😅
In India also oxygen OS brother
You still get the case if you get the Chinese version now. The American version comes with everything else but the case
OK, I work outside a lot and get my screen wet a lot... Currently using an s23 ultra. Should I switch?

Only if you want to try a different Android skin. If you are use to One UI and prefer it, stay with it. Even though it's all Android, different software skins can make all of the difference in the world when using the phone.
Yes
The front cam looks ok not great but it would be a pass
What about the battery performance of the oneplus 12??
This was an in depth unboxing.
Don't even notice that the cable is different, too thick for 80 and 100W
🙌🏿🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Nice review but Samsung is still great though!
I take the OnePlus over any other phone... people who have it says the battery is better than the test results vs videos
