Yeah I liked it to so much of the film brings back memories it wasn't as good as Barbarian but few films are that good in the genre. Still a personal favorite film.
Funny I remember seeing Destroyer a handful of times before seeing the first. I was at a friends house and his dad was watching Barbarian and I was locked in! I thought Red Sonja was a Conan sequel till I was like 12 or 13.
For me as well other families watched the cosby show when you had HBO that was a step down. Remember HBO used to stand for "Hey Beast Masters On"@EddieBloecher
Fletch Lives is hilarious. One of Chevy's most underrated films, it really showcases his great talent. And he was good in Caddyshack 2. My favorite screen comedian.
I liked Fletch Lives. Chevy was going through the motions, but the supporting cast was awesome, especially Cleavon Little, Hal Holbrook, and Lee Ermey.
Would be cool to see one of these for classic 70s movies too. There are some nearly forgotten sequels out there, The Sting 2, The Two Jakes (sequel to Chinatown), More American Graffiti, Texasville (sequel to The Last Picture Show), just off the top of my head.
Most of these movies are comedies and the first one of these comedies almost always have not aged well which means the sequel will also automatically be bad. This includes Coming to America, Teen Wolf, Porky's, Revenge of the Nerds, Meatballs, Mannequin and Weekend at Bernies'. None of these movies (except maybe Caddyshack) are even rewatchable. They were funny when they came out but stopped being funny within a few years becoming tired cliched movies. Any sequel was doomed from the start because of that.

Thanks for visiting the channel and I'll definitely return that shoutout to WA State. I grew up there, about 90 min north of Seattle. I moved to Southern CA in 02 but WA will always feel like home to me.
I'm in Wa also your not missing a thing with Meatballs 2 its totally stupid and my kids loved the 1st film. They hate ET so very likely they wouldn't like Meatballs 2 either.
Roy Thomas script for Conan 2 was sooooo much better than the dumb down, kid friendly verison we got. An absolute shame. As for the biggest sequel fail, that goes to Another Stakeout. Stakeout was my favorite film and what they did with the sequel was a travesty of justice!
Just curious but was it based on the novel for the film? I thought about reading it just never got around to it. Read many other conan stories a lot are hit or miss the Howard stuff is awesome.
Coming to America sequel should have been done way way earlier and the idea should have been what would happen if the coin flip was the other side and they went to the other location
@@MoviesNeverSayDie If you decide to do lost 90's made for tv and direct to video sequels such as Angels In The Endzone and Angels In The Infield, Beethoven III, IV, V, VI, Beethovens Christmas Adventure, Beethovens Treasure Trail.

I watched a video the other day about what sword and sorcery films resembles Dungeons and Dragons the best and Conan the Destroyer was named number 1. Thus this movie resembles a game of Dungeons and Dragons the most of all movies. Great movie in my opinion. Pity the Conan movies did not have more sequels like Rocky and Rambo, but very grateful we got Conan the Destroyer.
Conan the Destroyer was a missed opportunity. They could have just made a gritty hack and slash, and I would have been fine with it, but the silliness of the charcters was very corny. I liked Porky's II. Had enough laughs and was probably a 8/10 while the first was a 9/10. I remember seeing Revenge of the Nerds 2 at the theater and wondering why it wasn't an R rated show. I hade probably watched the first one about 167 times. All the edge was taken out of it for family friendly nerds. I like the degenerate Nerds a bit more with a side of mopery.
Completely agree. Nerds II needed that R-Rating to keep with the theme. The humor felt like softballs coming in. Conan, that one should have delivered an epic sequel. But from the little things I've read Dino de Laurentiis wanted to capitalize and widen the audience.
Man, some of these stung because they were favorites when I was a kid. But once I thought about it , I realized that there were several that I haven't seen since then so it's hard to tell how I would feel now. Like you, I have a soft spot for Revenge of the Nerds II. I think I actually saw it first as a kid so that probably has a lot to do with it.
It's funny, I remember many of these sequels playing on TV more as a kid that the originals did. Probably because many of them dialed the ratings down.
Good selections. Nerds 2 was a step down from the original but it had a few laughs at least. I would add Beastmaster 2 and Another 48 Hours to this list. The 48 Hours sequel didn't do bad at the box office but I think most people found it to be a disappointment. And also Major League 2. Not a fan when they turn an R rated film into PG. Enjoyed the video.
@ Yes, it was a cinema release. It obviously didn't make much noise though. The whole premise of the movie was kind of a silly joke with the time travel, fish out of water story. They should have made that sequel several years earlier in the 1980's and included some more of the original cast members IMO.
Ok, hear me out. Revenge of the Nerds 2 is a pretty solid opening and middle but falls apart magnificently in the end. It's a shame they didn't take a little more time to come up with something better.

@@MoviesNeverSayDie yeah it was they lied to him to get him to do it , he was trying to get back into big movies and he thought Meatballs was a good franchise but this story was different and he was pissed
It's wild, most of these originals were exactly that, raunchy. The humor was adult, the nudity in many was there if not excessive and they were even by todays standards a definite 'R'. Many of the sequels were watered down versions of the first, many dumbing down to a PG rating and they basically destroyed what could have been. Translation, not that Hollywood ever gets it....don't fix what isn't broken.
Its like they wanted to repeat the cycle, but not completely repeat. If you're going to reuse the same of jokes and set-ups, keep the tone the same as well. Seems simple.
You are definitely right about these movies 🎬 nerds, to is a guilty pleasure of mine. But mannequin 2 on the move was so bad it was a good movie to me and my friends as teenagers when we would smoke green stuff and laugh, our a**** off!
Fletch lives is good, Conan the destroyer is a fair effort, Revenge of the nerds 2 is decent, Weekend at Bernies 2 is hilarious. sure, it has some very dumb parts ( the 2 thugs turning into goats) but it's a fairly good sequel.
Yeah when I say failed I take it with a grain of salt. 80s and 90s movies are like pizza to me. Even if it ain't that great it's still pretty damn good.
I did like "Coming 2 America"; the original was indeed a billion times better, but I had fun with 2. And you should have mentioned "Beastmaster 2: Through the Portal of Time" (crazy, but NOT good).
I can safely say that I missed all of those except "Meatballs II". It was the one of the few films I walked out of, just dreadful! As far as "Caddyshack", in what world did the producers think that Jackie Mason was a suitable substitute for Rodney Dangerfield? The only good thing that came out of that film was it's soundtrack! LOL
Personally I've always liked Fletch Lives more than the first one & Conan The Destroyer to me is just as good as it's predecessor but hey to each it's own
The ones that currently comes to mind for me Personally are as fallows. 1= Doctor Sleep= I mean I could appreciate them trying to expand the lore and all of that but I just found incredibly Boring, that it always feels 3 times longer than it actually was. 2= Blade Runner 2049= Just like with Doctor Sleep I also Personally Found Blade Runner 2049 Pointless and Longer than it actually was, but I do kind of appreciate the world that was crafted since the first film tho. And those are about the only Terrible Sequel to 80’s films that I I could think of.
@@MoviesNeverSayDie Yeah I don't think a Lot Of People Enjoyed Doc Sleep and as for Blade Runner 2049 I think that the Reason that if Feels Too Long was because there just simply not much there in terms of story. But Good Visuals for the most part Personal Opinion on Blade Runner 2049 I Forgot to Mention that.
Here is how i rank these terrible sequels...and i know...all these movies arent great...but i have strong nostalgia for some of these over others....only one i havent seen is Coming 2 America From best to worst 1. Conan the destroyer 2. Meatballs 2 3. Fletch Lives 4. Porkys 2 5. Caddyshack 2 6. Nerds in paradise 7. Mannequin 2 8. Teen wolf too 9. Weekend at Bernies 2

@MoviesNeverSayDie for sure! I watched meatballs 2, fletch Lives and caddyshack 2 way more than the originals as a kid...which is kinda crazy when you think about these movies vs the originals
1. I guess I’m the only one to like this one. 2. Never should have been made. 3. Not a fan of either movie. 4. Again I guess I’m the only one to love this one. 5. See 1 and 4. 6. Could have done without. 7. See 1, 4, and 5. 8. See 6 9. Yeah I liked this one but it’s the same movie. 10. Could have done without.
I’m the oddball here. I like Coming 2 America better than the original. But, I was never a big fan of the original. Always thought it was Murphy’s most overrated.

Nice! Bernie is comical at times in it.
I alway enjoyed Caddyshack 2 as a kid and might have given Sandler the idea for Happy Gilmore.
That's a cool theory, I never thought of that but it would make sense. Caddyshack 2 played relentlessly on cable as a kid.
Witch meatballs was Corey Feldmen in?
Part 4
I think he was in #4
@@MoviesNeverSayDie yeah it was they lied to him to get him to do it , he was trying to get back into big movies and he thought Meatballs was a good franchise but this story was different and he was pissed
That's crazy! Never heard that.
Correction: Porky's II came only 15 months after the first.
Most sequels suck. Cocoon 2, Short Circuit 2, Rambo 2, Police Academy 2 etc etc
Cocoon and Short Circuit are great mentions.
Meatballs 2 started off as another film until they changed the title from what I heard recently.
That's an interesting fun fact.
Seems like eveery movie that was successful as R rated failed as PG 13
100%
Revenge of the Nerds II is my favorite of the Nerds movies.
It does land some solid laughs but the first will always be my favorite.
Too make matters worse Coming 2 America was James Earl Jones' final movie role.
I never paid attention to that. Yeah that's sort of a bummer for sure,.
You are definitely right about these movies 🎬 nerds, to is a guilty pleasure of mine. But mannequin 2 on the move was so bad it was a good movie to me and my friends as teenagers when we would smoke green stuff and laugh, our a**** off!
we had so many good movies back then any thing made was expected to be good. now there are no more good movies. only trash made by talentless idiots
Highlander two the quickening tops my list.
What did you think of Fright Night II, bud? Did you see it?
You know I'd have to go back and watch it again. It's been a long time!
I actually like Revenge Of The Nerds 2 better than the original.
PG13 rating has destroyed many movies 🎬
I did like "Coming 2 America"; the original was indeed a billion times better, but I had fun with 2. And you should have mentioned "Beastmaster 2: Through the Portal of Time" (crazy, but NOT good).
Beastmaster 2 is a great mention.
LOL
That's a great mention. The soundtrack to Caddyshack 2 is a solid line-up.
More content ❤!
Thanks bud!
I wish they would have made a sequel to Celtic Pride with the way it ended it could of been a football movie
Haha I would have loved that. I wish they wouldve made a movie about the Bears with Ditka to expand on the SNL skit from early 90s.
@@MoviesNeverSayDie oh man let's write it lol
Solid list , but ……Fletch 2 ?!?!?! Come on , that’s a great movie , many ways surpasses the OG .
Rest ..pretty accurate
Yeah I know a lot of people who like it but it just never did it for me.
Personally I've always liked Fletch Lives more than the first one & Conan The Destroyer to me is just as good as it's predecessor but hey to each it's own
Thats the joy of movies, everyone has their own tastes.
@MoviesNeverSayDie well said 😎
It’s funny that 3 of these terrible sequels star Silverman. Poor guy.
Yeah he a Chase did some bad sequels for sure.
Hey, I’m Boomer!
*capturing lightning in a bottle
The ones that currently comes to mind for me Personally are as fallows.
1= Doctor Sleep= I mean I could appreciate them trying to expand the lore and all of that but I just found incredibly Boring, that it always feels 3 times longer than it actually was.
2= Blade Runner 2049= Just like with Doctor Sleep I also Personally Found Blade Runner 2049 Pointless and Longer than it actually was, but I do kind of appreciate the world that was crafted since the first film tho.
And those are about the only Terrible Sequel to 80’s films that I I could think of.
Great mention on Dr Sleep - I completely forgot about that one. It was not a film I enjoyed much at all. And BR2049 was far too long.
Here is how i rank these terrible sequels...and i know...all these movies arent great...but i have strong nostalgia for some of these over others....only one i havent seen is Coming 2 America
From best to worst
1. Conan the destroyer
2. Meatballs 2
3. Fletch Lives
4. Porkys 2
5. Caddyshack 2
6. Nerds in paradise
7. Mannequin 2
8. Teen wolf too
9. Weekend at Bernies 2
If funny you mention nostalgia for these movies. Someone else said the same. To me it felt like some of these sequels played on TV and cable as a kid more than the first movies did.
@MoviesNeverSayDie for sure! I watched meatballs 2, fletch Lives and caddyshack 2 way more than the originals as a kid...which is kinda crazy when you think about these movies vs the originals
Dream A Little Dream (1989) had a bland sequel as well.
Oh damn, I didnt know that. Thanks!
I like Revenge of the Nerds 2 !
Yeah I get some laughs from Nerds II as well.
Porky's 2 The Next Day is one of the better sequels.
The rest are guilty pleasures.
Yeah looking back 2 is better that all the later sequels for sure.
1. I guess I’m the only one to like this one.
2. Never should have been made.
3. Not a fan of either movie.
4. Again I guess I’m the only one to love this one.
5. See 1 and 4.
6. Could have done without.
7. See 1, 4, and 5.
8. See 6
9. Yeah I liked this one but it’s the same movie.
10. Could have done without.
That's the cool thing about movies, we can all love watching what we like. I have many friends who also enjoy a good amount of these movies.
Is this video lagging or is it just my pc lol
I haven't heard that from anyone else and it doesn't lag for me on my end. Sorry about that.
I’m the oddball here. I like Coming 2 America better than the original. But, I was never a big fan of the original. Always thought it was Murphy’s most overrated.
Fair enough, that's why movies are awesome we can all like what we like.
@@MoviesNeverSayDie absolutely!
feel sorry for you
Paul Reubens is the best part of Meatballs 2. But an alien? Ugh nauseating
Completely agree about Ruebens he was pretty funny. And yeah that alien was a swing and a miss.
I love caddy dos. Lol
