The quality on these figures are really disheartening, for their price point, these QC issues are unacceptable, I appreciate S7 is going out of their way to go bigger and have some great accessories for this figure, but feels like they are biting off more than they can chew w/ these figures. If this was a $40-$55 I’d be cool w/ it but this is an SH Monsterarts priced figure! I think overall….these need more time to cook

Agreed. When I saw the first that super7 would be taking a crack at the heisei Godzilla monsters, I got excited as the promotional stuff looked great. But the price and overall lackluster figures really doesn’t make me want to go out and spend on them. Not when you have hiya killing it, or betting on sh monsterarts (which can be hit or miss)
Reminds me of a figure I had as a kid. This mecha G was always with me on car rides til I lost it. Might pick this up.
Well STR, I'm for the most part done with S7 Godzilla stuff. Super 7 could have used Some nice big magnets to mount the rear plate and the Flying pack, and be rid of the friction fit, but no love there. I came up with with a way to mount these items with black velcro, not elegant, but it does seem to work better than just friction. Again you can see these mods in my Flickr picture album named for these figures.

Great review! I’ve wanted a mechagodzilla for a while now…probably going to keep looking, though. This one looks decent, IMO, but I have more concerns about S7’s quality and engineering these days. I wish they would reel that in. I love the kinds of things they do…in concept…but the final products often just don’t deliver.

I’m seriously waiting to see if Hiya is going to do GxK stuff, if they do I really think that’s the final nail in the coffin for SH Monsterarts for me.

I'm a big Super Mecha-Godzilla fan and this figure really makes me want to buy it. The biggest problem to me are the inaccuracies, though. Especially the feet are way too short and chunky...
I had to buy two Burning Godzilla figures. The first one arrived and the neck peg at the base was broken inside the body. I removed the neck with heat to glue the peg, but it scratched the surface so much I gave up, got a refund and had a replacement sent out (BBTS were kind enough to not ask for the figure back). My replacement arrived with a loose leg, and the torso was not glued on one shoulder where it comes together, and the gap is too small for me to get any glue in there. It’s not a huge problem, and the torso is entirely together, it just comes apart slightly on one shoulder if I rotate the arm too far, but the loose knee meant I couldn’t pose him at all. Luckily, because I had two, I removed the lower leg from one, and popped it on the new figure. It worked, so he’s more or less fixed. My MechaG came with one hand almost crushed at the ball-peg, which I had to mould back using hot water, but other than that, no issues with him. BOTH FIGURES however were COVERED in a slippery substance which I had to wipe off. Idk what it could be, mold release? Plasticiser? Joint lube? Idk. Super7’s ultimates have been very hit or miss so far. I think Wave 1 Godzilla was great, and both exclusives are stellar, but the rest? Not worth it
Maybe if you would use clear nail polish on the back parts and allow that to dry and then see if that can tighten connections. Do that also on the Garuda. Would have been nice for them to have given Garuda some lift off exhaust effects for flight like they did with MG. I think the only thing they would or should have not done is doing the second head for roaring. They should have just done an articulated bottom jaw. They should also have considered giving a beam effect for either the Plasma Grenade or Beam Buster. Still Super 7 did a nice job from what I see in this video review.
I'm still getting the SHMA pack, at least the pack has enough to justify the prices

Idk why but the elbows are impossible to bend on mine. Even trying to rotate it the elbow joint looks upside down. I've tried everything rotating the elbow but nothing works
These QC issues are painful, but I can't afford SH. This will have to suffice.
Or either wait for hiya to release their toho figures
Good review. This guy is definitely replacing my Monsterarts version that I sold off. It never could stand properly. Bigger and cheaper are a win in my book.
So I have this figure but the elbows wont bend, Not even budge a bit, Im afraid that it will snap in half

Man literally the only super 7 line i like are the turtles. Just wish we could get an actual toon shredder.
The leg ball joints are very poor they could likely break with little to no force.
Things trash, spend your money on the S.H. Monsterarts, I've have had it for 11 years and dont have any of these problems.
