As someone who has been playing the deck for a few months (mostly on edopro) and someone who also has studied the umi decks that have topped in the ocg some advice Ill give Firstly, you should, by all means, put sea stealth attack in the deck, it's not only one of our most important cards but also one of our best, not only does it help deal with backrow removal it also turns the level 5 or higher monsters into constructs and gives your water monster a level of protection due to being able to do things like fizzle out droplet if they try and negate our board. It is also one of the very first thing we search with kairyushin especially considering it pulls the umi used by jellyfish to summon kairyushin into the field Secondly, no rage of kairyushin is still really bad (with the exception of being against marincess), the reason why is that, because of its restriction of need both umi and a level 5 monster it becomes very awkward to get good use out of, normally when your opponent can play more than one card on the board its usually because they managed to either out kairyushin or umi, this usually means that you wont be able to use rage of kairyushin at all and just sort of becomes dead at that point, the zone lock also barely matters as it lasts for a single turn and is only ever important against link decks (since it can kill the EMZ) Thirdly a heavy warning about maiden of the aqua, if your opponent has a field spell maiden of the aqua will not work, its extremely awkward and a garnet which you dont even want to use all the time which is why I dont recommend it I dont recommend terraforming especially if youre already running 3 warrior of atlantis as we have so many ways to search umi that it becomes unnecessary and often times a brick With foolish burial goods ice barrier I generally recommend having gameciel and tremora in the deck too, gameciel helps deals with some potentially difficult to deal with cards while also not being completely dead if there isnt due to jellyfish summon, and tremora is there for hands where you drew fbg and kairyushin and basically nothing else, or if jellyfish gets negated I generally do not recommend using kragen due to it's anti synergy with kairyushin, if youre deadset on using the ed baha toad is generally a better idea Finally I generally recommend having dark reef at 1 if you decide to run it at all mostly cause you generally should be winning the turn after you use it There are a bunch of tech and stuff I can recommend but thats going into too much and many of these techs are much more debatable and has varying usefulness depending on what youre playing against
The thing with Kragen is you just don't go into it if you're currently WATER-locking the opponent. It's greatest use is against the one thing that really claps the deck; other WATER decks. You could just relegate them as a side option, but since this is running Extravagance your eating up 6 Side Deck slots for Extra Deck monsters in a deck where the ED is a side note. Also while this specific video isn't budget, the Kragen's are pretty cheap cards and fill up a lot of the 3-of ED slots for Extravagance, while being fairly good WATER monsters.
@@scytheyamato5442 no no, 1 whale is good as the whale is generally used as a finisher (its even seen on the few tops this deck has had) Its actually is a really important card for finishing especially for matchups where you dont want to interact with the board The two salmons are unnecessary, though i wont fault anyone who wants to play like 1-2 normal monsters for some highroll moments
Prefect timing. Opened a box of Legendary Duelists of the deep yesterday. Ended up pulling Forbidden Droplets, 1 KAIRYU-SHIN, 1 Doom Kraken. Some of the Marincess cards. Wish I pulled an Electric Jellyfish.
You can also play Icejade Tremora in this deck as it can special summon a water monster from your hand by discarding itself! You can summon your Kairyu-shin like this if you have no umi on your field
Great video, I'm an avid fan of water archetype planning to build this deck and using it on locals here(ocg). BTW the deck is good if you add handtraps and kaiju for possible 2nd turn.
I suggest using Gogiga Gagagigo instead of a second Terror king Salmon: it's the only monster who can beat over 3000 ATK monsters immune to Sea Stealth Attack
i actually prefer 2 Giga Gagagigo and 1 Gogiga Gagagigo for the extra stats. Nevertheless this list is pretty solid. P.S.: It’s ridiculous konami didn’t reprint Warrior of Atlantis. i have one from the structure years ago, but the other two still cost 25 dollars with tax.
DAD, how many boosters did it take to get 3 Fish Sonar, 3 Abyss Sharks and any Droplets? I use a copy or two of Ice Barrier in my Water Decks too, so we're on the same page there.
If I see "umi" I go the other way. I see no use in the pathetic ATT boost while screwing with my lvls... so no using in Sharks, White Water or Deepsea hand rip. And the corny Fisherman are going on TCGPlayer. One exception- Fury of Kairyu-shin to grab a Torrential and GY protection.
