TonyTSPGaming that is the PowerCore for the Fold weapon. But still, basically a core component of the weapon.
Titanfall's universe basically offers itself for great worldbuilding. Almost every genre could neatly fit in, and still leave more then enough room for others.
RPG? Being a privateer working between IMC and the Militia. Basically a Mass Effect-esque experience.
Survival (ala Minecraft, ARK and Don't Starve)? You are a settler in the Frontier and try to make a living.
Strategy? Guess what Graves does the whole time.
Civ-clone? You manage settlements and work foreither IMC (which drains resources) or the Militia (Which drains manpower).
Shooter? You're playing one, son.
Boots-on-the-Ground Shooter? You are a Grunt, have fun.
Survival Horror? The Aftermath of the Airbase mission. Suddenly the Spectres go haywire and the energy runs low, all while Leviathans and Dragons are out for a meal...
Flight Simulator? Hornets and Dropships, buddy, Hornets and Dropships.
Puzzle? Figure out what those alien ruins are.
And many more!
The door is unlocked, Respawn only needs to open it.
even a tank game, there were quite a few tanks scattered across the maps and they looked cool as fuck
Well all of this got ruined the second fucking EA bought respawn. I would have loved to see these games they sound amazing.

The devs put that in while they were still planning on titanfall 3 but it's been practically scrapped for Apex which is now fading in popularity because it came out at the peak of the battle royal popularity it didn't grow for long and just fell in popularity after a big spike. It's a real shame.

When season 5 started, it was at an all time high, other than the first week of launch (I think)
Obviously its gonna die down at the end of each season, and spike back up at the beginning, and sinc nothing new will be coming out for a month, its gonna "die"a bit, but blast waay up in season 6

The thing about Graves talking about how Blisk fights alongside machines that have no loyalty is kinda hypocritical, because the Militia also uses Titans, and even some hacked spectres too.
But they aren't as heavily reliant. The Militia uses them resourcefully, the IMC uses them zealously and for everything.
+skullcrusher701 True, the Militia just uses small amounts for their army, while the IMC uses TONS of them, and even has some as their leaders, like Spyglass.
It could be a more specific reference to SpyGlass.
Soren Roeser did I mention live humans are still alive like live as he simulacrum so in a way it makes blisk racist because he is discriminating against humans because the lore describes that there is a way to do in fact being back the person through the act of accessing their consciousness so they are technically still alive.

Regarding the campaign end, the dlc maps basically show how the IMC is recovering. Sandtrap being a refuling facility, Zone 18 - robotics lab.

Well you know what they say: If the makers drop the ball, it's up to the fans to pick it back up. I feel Respawn did a terrible job tying in the storyline with the multiplayer as it can be difficult to focus on whats going on as you're playing the game. Thankfully we'll have a single player campaign so we won't have to deal with the nonsense going on in the match.
It wouldn't be so bad if the matchmaking wouldn't make you switch sides over and over again. by the time I've reached Made Men I had no idea who was on which side

fold weapon. the ark was just the power source. the ark couldn't do jack sheet without the proper lunch and regulation systems developed to control it. like can the sun kill you? only if you get close enough or stare for a long time..... out in space instantly. but if you harness the sun you could kill galaxies.
The lore is so awesome, I hope they incorporate it in titanfall 2

It's one of Blisk's lines in Titanfall 2 if you select the Apex Predators faction.
If apex Legends ties into Titanfall 3 then the Titanfall franchise as a whole will die.

FS-1041 is jack's original Titan but he got replaced by BT, the empty chassis given to jack after BT is destroyed is FS.

i really enjoyed the game and its design. It just didnt have the longevity that most people had hoped for. The core gameplay was always fun to me though.

Did you not realize that the Frontier will go on as before the IMC even realized how much it was flourishing maybe with some changes like a giant army for defense against future IMC invasions and a huge wealth of resources and more means of production thanks to IMC constructing more factories, along with the fact that they will continue to expand regardless if the core systems fall into destruction being utterly wiped out due to overpopulation not enough resources too survive and the frontier becoming the last home of humanity.

Personally I think leaving all those troops on the ground to die was horrific betrayal on the part of the Militia, I could understand the IMC doing it, as a (corrupt) corporation viewing the men and women of their security forces as nothing but expendable bodies.
But that the Militia (supposed goods guys) would leave hundreds or thousands of their own troops to die like that is similar to Mensk leaving Sarah Kerrigan to die in Starcraft, nothing but a complete betrayal of those who believed in their cause.

To be fair Demeter was only moments away from exploding chances are Spyglass did the calculations and saw that their would have been no time to evac everyone so he decided that the capital ships that were left should just get as far away as possible. Macallen though honestly is the bigger traitor the militia forces had zero idea of what he was going to do to achieve victory they really should have been informed that the mission was basically going to be suicidal.

Just want to point out one thing. If they get to the point where the cooling system is disabled and a meltdown will happen no matter what, why did they not start evac then? From a story point that makes no sense, but that would be boring from a gameplay point of view.
They did soon as the commanding officers saw that the system was going critical they tried sending evacuation ships but Spyglass and Mac Allen canceled those orders.
5 years later, this is still freaking awesome. Great job man!
Blisk was a merc even then? One of the grunts in Titanfall 2 says "Heard he was IMC"

That's the point, he heard it, barracks chit chat, someone might have poorly understood what was originally meant to be said.
Instead of being an IMC, he was a Mercenary much closer to the IMC. Or maybe I am reading too much and he indeed was an IMC grunt before becoming a Mercenary.
Thing is, in TF1 he loves his job better than the money ("I'll kill you for free"), while in TF|2 he knows that wiping out the Militia means no more working and no more money, so he gives dosh the priority ("Next time, put it in my contract").
A Snake to be sure, but less so in 2.
I still want to kill him.
This was perfect. The biggest thing i struggle with in Titanfall is how the story loops endlessly and just randomly drops you in the middle of it. Now i have some framework for what's happening. Very well made video, kudos, mate!

I want to know whose the genius is who thought that it would be totally okay to slip in a story during the freakin multiplayer like everyone would be able to follow along. Because, you know, nothing makes a story more dramatic than being killed in the middle of a character's heroic death speech by a guy named "SCROTUMSMASHER420."

Still rooting for the IMC in the end. I just didn't like the Militia in the first game, just like I didn't like the rebels in Star Wars. I'm praying that Titanfall 2's campaign has some kind of choice system as to where you take your main character. I don't want another run-of-the-mill story where we have to play as the supposed 'good guys' when the IMC are just more badass.

Great video. As a new player to the Titanfall IP, this helped me a lot to understand. TF2 was kinda lacking on the background. I kept waiting for some cutscenes to explain what was going on. I still enjoy it immensely, but that would have helped.

You know what would be goddamn amazing? If after the Titanfall story is over and the IMC is removed from the frontier, after territory disputes from factions on the frontier get past full on war. I would love to see an assassins creed or Far Cry style game set on a planet there

When I was younger I always played the campaign and on Demeter I would keep my titan until the end then go in it when Demeter blew up so I could “survive”

The strange phenomenon at Anderson's coordinates are definitely linked to the void cannon meaning that maybe bt-7274 was shot into the future after the event saying "trust me" knowing that he would send link to pilot Cooper. That's why they had no sign of him at the time until the end credit scene.

Something I never got I why the Battle of Demeter wasn't the last battle. It makes a perfect, dramatic, slightly sad ending to the story. Surly it would have been better to have the Specter factory destruction battle as the second to last, because destroying the fueling station is way more important than pure specter production, and deserved to be last. I remember playing the campaign and finishing Demeter, and thinking "Well, the hero guy died, all the pilots just died, this is dramatic, were done here" then being really confused when another mission started. It just didn't work very well, thematically.

I just wanted to say thank you for this awesome video. I purchased Titanfall 2 second hand a few days ago for PS4 but couldn't find a decent video/article about the backstory of the first game until coming across this one.
This was an excellent description of the universe of the first game which meant I could start the second game up to speed!

When graves talked about machines being the enemy, it had meaning. In Titanfall 2 vanguard titans are artificial intelligence. They aren't just machines, they have loyalty. They even try to learn things, like when by gave a thumbs up. When the imc reverse engineered them, they made them just as machine as the other titans.
I like IMC more, they're just better

IMC just look more "clean" with thier all-silver suits. If you feel more like a rebel qnd a badass (and want to win all the time) the Militia is great.
+King Boss IV but I mean what are they reveling against? The IMC made it so where they could even exist there. I mean yeah, I guess they could have done some things more gently, but IMC all the way!!
+Jester Paris I honestly don't care about which side is better, as I never really said my fav AND the fact it's random everytime you play. Titanfall in general is a great game, though, regardless what anyone says.

I love Titanfall and even still play it. Despite going into the campaign frequently, everyone has to start at some time so it is only right to do my part and do campaign so other people can play through it too, I never heard some of the stuff shown in this video.

Bought this game on sale on steam recently. Was I living under a rock? One of my favorite games by far now.
You guys are doing invaluable work for us and i realy appriciate it. Titanfall is very unique game with it's game style and I like the way you are focusing on to improve story.I hope in Titanfall 2 there will be more balanced combat between pilots and Titans, also adding sword is perfect. Late comment but I’m just about to jump into titanfall 2 campaign after picking it up super cheap. I’m one of the many people who skipped it outright just because the first barely had a campaign, yet have heard 2 not only corrected that wrong but made one of the best FPS campaigns of the generation.. wanted to get caught up on the lore and I’ve got to say I don’t think I’ve ever watched a better summary video on TH-cam. Excellent work.
If some of you guys think about it, the titanfall 1 campaign is like the real life American Revolution. The IMC being the British Empire and the Militia being the American Colonists, hence their voice actors being either British or American. In the events leading to the revolutionary War, the British wanted to extend their lands and kill anybody that stands in their way. Hence what the IMC did in order for them to take the frontier. A bunch of people were tired of being ruled by the IMC and decided to make their own group called the militia, which is what the Americans did during the revolution. The Americans were tired of British ruling and taxation. There really is no sign of taxation in Titanfall. The IMC kept winning battles until one battle, in particular, made them turn the tide of the war in favor for the Militia. in the American Revolution, the brits kept winning until one battle turn the tide of the war for the Americans to win (that battle was the battle of Saratoga). So I have a tiny feeling Titanfall 2's story is sorta in the middle of the "fictional" war of 1812. Sound like an interesting theory?
