Fun fact: the *only* reason that Mary Anning is a Lancer servant is because the Throne couldn't figure out wtf to do with her, and decided on Lancer because "I guess she can stab people with her ichthyosaur." (the swordfish-looking dino she... runs forward and stabs people with, like a lance).
She lancer cause she has no luck and being Lancer is suffering.
I love the idea of the Throne of Heroes admitting her and being all confused with her.

Mary Anning's Dog, Tray, looking like a Bread in the 3rd Ascension is a reference to the dog's death during a mudslide. It is really heartwarming within Mary's Like Voiceline, where she is happy that she was able to become a Servant to reunite with her dog.
If you don't mind my asking, how is Tray looking like a loaf related to a mudslide?

I actually think Mary has great value as a 1 star specifically because she's super good for newer or less developed accounts. Aside from filling the slot of a generic arts or crit support for female Servants, she helps with some stuff that newer accounts tend to struggle with. In my experience, it can be pretty hard to get consistent crits until you pull 2030s to throw on your supports, so her star bomb is greatly appreciated, and her drain/battery/buff block combination are all great bits of utility for boss fights, at a very low cost for raising her skill levels.

I would like to thank Mary for letting me dump my 9M Friend Points that have been just sitting there since I got Angra. Got 3 grails and a few max level CEs out of it too.

Sad part is, she's a limited 1* competing with a an FP/General Pool 3* who has less restriction that she does
I don't care that my lvl 90 NP5 Lambda outperforms her, she's my lvl 120 max append gremlin and I wouldn't have it any other way.
She has all 3 skills at level 40, making her a very good esports servant

@@joeyjjmoore it's when you use low level servants so that they die faster in challenge quests. For cycling supports and getting buffs on your dps.

Been grailing my Mary Anning to 120, already maxed out her skills, Append’s and those Footprint’s because she is the best
As for Jason, most who grail him do so because, well, he's Jason. We've all played Atlantis.
Honestly the way ahe fights, summoning familiars, seems more like a caster.
I have decided that Mary Anning would be my 120 Servant for my JP account, where it still needs work, but she can really do a lot.
I did think, "well I love this servant, but i already have enough aoe arts lancers for farming."
What class would I want her in?
Easy answer is Saber because Jason isn't looping easy enough.
Archer she completes with summer Jeanne.
Rider she can't beat surfer Mo.
Caster would be devastating because I'm still out of gold caster gems, so I have plenty of casters to do anything.
Assassin she completes with shuten, so assassin would be the best. Right now for rider farming nodes I need to use a janky setup with that tengu and Ruler davinchi for charge.
Note to self research a farming assassin.

They're without doubt the best AoE Arts Assassin unit, that until Tez comes along.

... And I personally also have an alt account trying to beat the story using just servants who can get his Argo buffs plus 1 or 2 neo argonauts to fill gaps
The Argonauts team is quite fun actually. The DPS's make use of his buffs quite nicely, deffinitely functional
All I want for Anning is for her Yuri Charisma to get bumped up to 20/20/20 values. Nothing insane, but something that'd really solidify her attacker support aspect. Either that, or tack on a 15% female-only NP damage up.
Finna get my Anning to 90 because bunyan is a bum.
I think she works pretty well as a secondary dps. Pair her with a big hitter you want to support, and on their down turns Mary can fill with her own np to soften folks up.
I love this servant, a budget pseud0-support.

I think she’s worth grabbing at least one copy of for cheap plug support on arts teams. Whether for arts farming or for boss fights, her buffs can be immensely useful for arts teams to keep them going, especially since they rely on NP gain and arts card buffs and often rely on crits to get the refund and damage they need.
I personally NP5’d mine because I also wanted to use her as a budget farmer. I don’t have any good AoE arts lancers that can farm, and I really like Anning’s kit and overall design, and since she’s completely free, I didn’t see a reason not to go for her, especially since she won’t be summonable when her event ends. I grailed her up to lvl 80 and she’s already putting in some good work despite her stat limitations.
It's still very odd how it just says female allies on the skill description in the game, but i guess it would take too much space
