Every time i see these lovely dogs it leaves me with a tear in my eye.Wee lost our boy in 2011.Circumstances since have stopped us getting another Ridgeback. Cross fingers after moving in to our new house in 2019,wee will get another. They are a wonderful breed.
best dogs in the world! mine is 2 years and 4 months old, a healthy red wheaten male and gorgeous. we live on the edge of a forest and yet the neighbors all have tiny apartment dogs that snap and bite as you walk by. but my RR is gentle and very good tempered and well trained. i sound like a preacher when someone tells me they want a new dog, since I will never get any other breed and wish I had room for 3 more of them, or at least one. i got mine from a local "backyard breeder" but got lucky, and when I get another one, will find an established breeder like you...
I adopted a dog from the shelter that looks so much like these dogs, except he doesn't have a ridged back. Is it possible for them to be born without a ridge?
Leroy Brown is my ridgebacked mut. he's got some German shepherd and rottweiler in him... He couldn't be more gentle with his car siblings... And my very pregnant wife is just relaxed and safe when I have to go to work. They have the perfect mix of protector and goofball
