  • ^^^Sorry for the voice over, not the best since it’s my first time doing voice overlay on a video
*Why do we break in motors? The commutators are shaped like squares and the armature are cylindrical, so to break it in, we basically run it (with load or without load) so the comms can ”shave” itself to the cylindrical shape of the arms.

    Lots of technique out there.
Breaking in a brushed motor using the water immersion technique, it helps in keeping those metal/carbon shavings building up on the arms plus the water keeps the motor in a manageable temperature minimizing thermal damage to the wires (if there’s any) it’s a little bit messy but it pays off in the end.

    Very underrated video
Thank you so much for your help
Initially doubtful about sinking the whole motor in but it still works like a charm and achieving better lap times

Wow, I never considered submerging my motors in a water bath! It worked, though, because this method gave me a box stock motor with >20,000 rpm at 3V on the G-Force Mini Break-In System. My previous high was 19,200 with a dry break-in.

Glad that it works for you as well, i like this method since it has less stress on the motor in terms of temperature

This is a great tutorial, man! Have you heard or have used G-force mini break in system? Do you think it’s worth it to be used for breaking-in motors? Or should I just save my money? Thanks! 😊

How long do you go in between oiling? 5 min intervals?

I oil it when i change rotation direction, depends on how long i run clockwise then oil then run counterclockwise, you can do it more than once, really up to you
