All m1 products are against “ right to repair” apple don’t you want you to repair you gear. An wish you and people like you don’t talk about gaming, this why we don’t have games on mac. You could have suggested getting a old Mac Pro 4,1-5,1 to play games. buy the latest intel macs.

Got the same feeling, I actually saw the video entirely. #M1macbookair
The pauses, the transitions, the script, everything spot on.
I literally did the same thing myself. Sold my desktop pc and start using an old macbook air for 30 days just to test-drive it and see if I could make the switch. Definitely some getting used to but as soon as I stop trying to do everything as I did with windows and get to know macOS, all went smoothly!
About the random crashes:
check if that happen when you were using the Samsung ssd attached. There is a common issue with USB port energy related, that if you are using with plug for a long time it might reboot and give the error "SOCD report detected: (AP watchdog expired)".
If not, check the console for the error log and search for the app that might be causing the issue. Usually it is software related, probably one that isn't not optimized for arm64.
You might as well run a diagnose just to be sure it ain't hardware.
I've already have several kernel panics and got phone support with Apple. I was having problems with an app (intel), the USB and also with some system files (I did migration from Intel machine).

Watching this on my base-level M1 Air. Fastest computer I've ever owned, and also the quietest. Battery life is stellar.

I was gifted one of these as my graduation present and I couldn't be more thankful! I've been using a mac mini for work this past month and the OS is so ridiculously user friendly. Plus it feels good to know that I'll be able to squeeze this thing for seven or so years.

Great review and insights on the M1 MBA. I got my M1 MBA (8GB/512GB) about two weeks ago, upgrading from my trusty "old" MBP 13-inch late 2011 that has been serving me well all this time...and continues to do so (I still use it about 25% of the time).

Great review, this is the first video of yours that I have seen and it earned a sub. I’m on the fence between the MacBook Air and the new iPad Pro with the M1 chip. I have an older 2014 MacBook Pro that still runs flawless but I can’t do 4K video and as other apps such as Lightroom get more intensive I’ve noticed that it gets hot trying to keep up.

I have a MacBook Air M1 since some months, which I use as a secondary laptop at home, since I am still a Windows user at my office. Actually I am pretty happy with the hardware and software as well and I do agree with you regarding the pros. Regarding the downsides, I haven’t had random shutdowns or restarts. To be honest, I have way less of such issues with MacOS compared to Windows 10, which usually pops up blue screens. I also have some accessories from Apple, such as external keyboards mousse and trackpad. With them, I realized that sometimes they don’t connect automatically, but after using wired connection and taking it away the problem goes away. Thank you very much for your long term review, I really appreciate it and your content in general is amazing and really well done. #m1macbookair :)

Excellent content! I wholeheartedly agree with everything you say. I even have Bluetooth issues with Apple's own Magic Trackpad losing connection with the M1 Air at least a few times a day (when I keep the MacBook closed and use an external monitor). It's very frustrating. But overall I love my M1 Macbook Air 16 GB 8 core graphics (with 2 TB internal SSD).
Thank you man! And damn that is too bad, that is very frustrating. I don't necessarily have the bluetooth drop connection, it's the actual latency of the mouse input I am experiencing. The mouse will generally just lag if on bluetooth, whereas now I'm using the included USB receiver for my logitech mouse, it works flawlessly.
