Yeap, the strategy still works. Best recommendation is to do a search on google first then check the image results. It will give you an idea of what google wants, then run your pics in the AI vision tool to pick the best ones. Finally don't forget the alt tags when you add them to your website and the file name.

My question is: what images would you post for service area-based businesses, that don't have a location where they could post exterior images from, like a cleaning business for example? Would it hurt the ranking of such a listing if they can't post such images?
No it won't hurt. Since you don't have a location there is no need to add picture of exterior
RA, I have a cleaning business too. CN I put a picture of my wrapped car (logo) in a an exterior category? Will I be suspended?

My company has niche'd down to 3 departments, but after watching this video I got the confidence to want to walk into every business I see day to day to show they're not utilizing Google to the extent they need to. Plus, the upsell of inventory photography after the Business-specific photos? One curious question to all of this...would I want to manually drop the pictures I take for these businesses into the Google Vision program for optimization? Is Google Vision working on Google automatically? Manual or automatic?

Great video. Would like more ideas on GMB for services that don't have specific products to photograph. Like for a marketing firm or insurance or financial - what type of photos to represent services offered and how to categorize?

Sorry to leave out a word or 2 - was typing faster than my brain. I was wondering what type of photos we should use for more ambiguous business imagery like those mentioned - where it's not so obvious as to what might be effective.

Hi Luc, how do I manage the photos that appear on the business site created with google? I have noticed that the last photos uploaded in the profile appear on the website, but I cannot change the order of the photos displayed on the website. Thanks for your help! You are great!
Hi Andrea. Unfortunately the photos are displayed automatically and there is no option of reordering them.
I’ve heard back in the day that using a cell phone had some benefits due to the geotags embedded in them. That’s how our phones know where we were when a pic was taken.

Google will automatically geotag your picture when you publish them on your profile.
Might be useful for publishing pictures on your website but don’t except miracles

Think about it from a client's perspective. If you feel the wedding photography is no longer relevant then remove it

The ideal recommended Google My Business cover photo size is 1024 x 576 pixels.
As a realtor would you suggest I put a photo with Sold written on it in the photos section or products section? I wasn't sure if the overlay will drop it to the bottom. Your videos are so helpful!

As a Realtor I have a lot of photos of my home for sale (listings). If I post all of those image I wonder if Google will think they are "stock" images or treat them as unique?
Hi Mike, Google doesn't "think" it uses technology. If the photos you are using are 100% unique and cannot be found anywhere else then they won't be considered as stock photos
What about if my business is a Home Inspections company that we go the client homes. They do not come to our location which is our home. Do we still provide a photo of the outside of our building. Would it be better to take a picture of our trucks with our logo on them? Thank you for your videos.

It won’t cause a problem. Photos on post are not added to your gallery. You can even use stock images for them
Hi Luc. Being a practicing doc, I have some limitations here. Apart from photos of the interior, I cant post photos with clients for confidentiality issues. I cant post photos of ongoing sessions or treatments. What are my options here? Can I simply post some infographics under photos?

Let's put on a black envelope. What if a business owner takes all the photos himself for a few months and deletes the metadata from the camera and leaves only the keywords and description and the geolocation coordinates. Google will not be able to identify the camera it was taken with as well as the date and time. I am not a pirate but I put myself in the case and got curious. What do you think ?

Shame Google’s street view isn’t as advanced as it can’t work out my business screws and shows next door instead! But so sure it’s as advanced as you think it is.

You have no idea how badly I needed this. I have a verified & active business profile, yet when I type it in, it’s says it doesn’t exist & prompts me to start a duplicate. I previously erased a google account used to start the profile & google removed the listing. After weeks of begging they finally restored it but where I once had access to the listing through my business email, now I can’t. Luckily the email used to set it up still exists after a quick recovery; however, I can’t get to gmail using a phone verification. I’m told the number can’t be used. I’ve tried others to no evail. So I can make changes to the listing through the google account but I can’t get to my gmail to verify. I want the businesses email to be associated with it, not the one used to set it up. It’s a mess. Let’s see if this works
