do you sometimes feel like getting a group of people & talking to them about the findings which you create as a storyteller ( you are good short- storyteller ) aside from the work level intricacies.
Its always great listening to Shreyas. Operating at Optics, Impact or Execution levels made me look deep into what am doing 🤔. Thanks for a great episode.
Lenny, this podcast was an absolute masterclass! Shreyas delivered mind-blowing insights that left me completely captivated (and speechless for a good 15 minutes!). His wisdom is unparalleled - a must-listen for any PM looking to level up their game. Thank you for creating this incredible resource! 🙏
OMG - the wisdom and the just the core insights Shreyas has ...! unbelievable. I connected to every second of it... and yes an hour per question would be awesome. Thank you @lenny!
I loved this extremely realistic and sober vision that he shares in the first question. Thanks for sharing, Lenny -- I can't believe I missed this event :(
Great content and most PM's should be able to relate to this. Standup Comedian or a product leader .... the Podcast host asks? For a Junior PM .... I understand taking features into the product that should be part of Consulting/Solution but not for a senior PM of the caliber of Shreyas.
This was one of the best episodes @ShreyasDoshiVideos and @LennysPodcast. IMHO the leadership of every startup should gather the product+design+engineering+CS+sales+marketing teams in one room and organize a "movie watching session" so everyone watches this episode (like we watch movies in movie theater) and the PM-s are sitting on the first rows with the CEO :)
Deep listening (if you will) has always been my superpower. In fact all my product superpowers come from not software industry but an older product space. At one point it was all data driven and nothing else, then came fancy esoteric data which left people mesmerised and now AI features for the heck of it. Why is the core so shaky and beliefs fickle? Software folks have their basics messed up and at some point I started questioning my beliefs. Good to have the validation that I was right all along.
Hi @ShilpyMishra, On listning well. Which names Shreyas took, got first one (Rick rubin) but dont know about 2nd & 3rd person. Can you please share it? It would be very helpful and would be very greatful to you
Virat's talent is off the charts, clearly. But I couldn't see the true uniqueness of his talent until he hit that 6 off Haris Rauf. Clearly I don't actually have good taste in cricket.
Thanks for breaking the routine of these fire side chats with something deep & insightful Can be a new prodcast series idea - "X questions Y wishes he'd asked himself before" - can let people go deep and open up :)
That's a great physio (and quite rare). This is quite true for all sorts of pains and ailments, but not full accepted & understood in traditional medicine.

You describe the way you become busy... You suggested some addition to the product, and you said it will increase sales... then the ceo asks why this did not happen ... and you are "trapped" ... so you promise more things .... and you become very busy .... In my opinion, a ceo like Mr. Bezos knows that you are doing experiments... He appriciates this... and if the PM feels that the experiment did not work out well, he can tell it to a ceo like Bezos.
If you already have a strategy in place (assuming that’s consented with the leadership), you will have no difficulties in prioritisation. If you want to save yourself from months of planning work, finish the work earlier - in the name of strategy. Taste is literally about being able to differentiate between two things that would appear identical to most people. What he is referring to by examples is not taste. The guy is fixated on alliterations. There is no ‘product’ in this. Messages that are simple to communicate and comprehend and recall tend to last longer.
Listening to Shreyas speak is like therapy for PMs
Some of it is also self-therapy for me 😁

100% agree

how does one listen deeply?
That’s the last question Shreyas poses.
I think of it as listening to the words behind the words.

Good and real problem citing Shreyas, the solutions and learnings could be more clearly put. Thanks for the talk.
Love listening to you but how are you defining “taste”?
I define it at the 31:40 mark
Who is the second reference for "Listening"? at this time - th-cam.com/video/atS060bNpE0/w-d-xo.htmlsi=6KaQepKs7J2Z67nC&t=2670
How do you develop the taste though? Develop critical thinking?
How much were the ticket prices?
why are PMs the only group that spend more time justifying their existence than actually doing any work?

so when Shreyas says 'good taste', he probably means 'good judgement'
yes, I agreed : common sense, judgement , distinguishing the good or not so good product content based on your believes, your core.
He's literally the wrong person to push that idea. Its just a stolen sound-bite from Steve Jobs.
No he means good taste because taste is king
Correct, extremely deep point.
Taste is not judgement , it’s actually quite personal.
When would people learn how to speak well? to be concise, non repetitive , and to follow a narrative in order , is an art. Quite verbose interaction.
