Tri-spy- definitely norseman bike course .done it last year after 10 years trying to get in .. I absolutely loved it and manged to bag myself a black t-shirt.. Love the showj .I spent hours and hours watching GTN while on the turbo laughing my head off great show .
I haven't done a triathlon yet, but have definitely ruled out doing my local one due to water quality concerns. I assume the events ruled by these regulations are usually targetted at the experienced, but I can't be the only newbie put off by horrible water quality.
Tri-spy: definitely Norseman. Just got back from skiing, first call was to watch the show and what do I see - a truly iconic course. Bucket list for sure.
Qatar WC Final. Poor world! T100 gets greedy and don't care about human rights anymore: isn't it great that women there must obtain permission from their male guardians - as if any woman needs guardians - to marry, study abroad, work government jobs, and even need permission from her husband or male g. to receive reproductive health care, also no travelling abroad without male's permit. Excuse me, I hope since not starting in a national team, the pros wont sign in here. Come on, thats disgusting, imho.
I hope Sam is okay. His doctors need to be on top of it. My husband was not at his level, of course, but he was a very fit Cat 1 road bicycle racer. He won some races, and then stopped racing when he didn't feel right and felt like he couldn't win. Then, he couldn't work out. He went to multiple doctors. They kept telling him he was getting older, maybe he had a sinus infection, etc. They missed the real problem for 2 years. One doctor finally did a CT of his chest and abdomen, and it turned out he had a large tumor and fibrolamellar cancer, which strikes children and "healthy" young adults. They caught it too late. He fought valiantly for 4.5 years with multiple surgeries and continuous chemo. He lost his battle 2 years ago.
Great show. Any chance to give a shout out, or maybe even interview Helen Ryvar who has just completed 1000 consecutive half marathons 😮 breaking the previous world record by quite a lot.
Thanks for the great solo show!! Unrelated to that show, could GTN address what I believe is a very common problem with AG’s: swimming technique falling apart after 200m ?
Interesting having written our lifesaving sport water quality advice for the UK the government advice and bouncing around department policies and that their testing only covers part of a small although important area, further mitigation and understanding should be completed and understood.
Feels like the world triathlon just dont care about athlete health. And to me it feels like it's a middle finger on the "save the environment" mentality basically saying we give up. Also the new rules seems unnecessary, are they just doing changes to justify the money they get ?
I'm curious about who is doing said academic research and through which institution(s). A document stating that someone is required to take part in academic research (for something that isn't a drug/medical device trial) seems like something an IRB would have a lot of "fun" with.
Who do these rule changes serve? Not to the athletes that will have to swim with much worse water quality. In Paris quite a few had stomach issues afterwards, so is that now the new normal? 🤨Reducing the drafting zone and the penalties is a strange move, as well. Thumbs down for me 👎
It does change quite a lot of things to the sport but World Triathlon must have its reasons for these rule changes. We may come to know their justifications in time ⏲️
I won’t be surprised if I’m the only one speaking up like this, but thank you for your excellent and fact-based reporting of the rule changes around transgender athletes. Many of my closest friends & loved ones are transgender themselves (some of them athletes), and with all that’s going on these past few years, I fear not just for their right to compete, but for their safety. Thanks to all the misinformation going around, too many people want to push complete bans because they *think* that trans participation in sports is a lawless wasteland meant to ruin women’s chances-but it’s NOT, and there ARE regulations ensuring fair competition, and clearly those regulations are well-thought-out and frequently reviewed. My trans brothers and sisters don’t want a free medal; they just want the right to compete and participate in this wonderful world we call “sports,” and I hope your spectacular coverage of the issue opens more people’s eyes to that fact. Thank you so much, and keep being just as amazing as you all are❤️🏳️⚧️
What are your thoughts on World Triathlon's new rules? 👀
1 Million! Thanks for all the advice and getting me informed when I started triathlon at the end of 2023. Seriously a HUGE help!
Tri-spy- definitely norseman bike course .done it last year after 10 years trying to get in ..

Thanks for the comment! We’ve heard from quite a few people who have their own concerns too regarding water quality and not wanting to take a chance

Wow. My profound condolences.
TRI-SPY: Norseman! I dream of doing that course one day. Absolutely iconic.
Heck ya! 1million!
Tri-Spy - I reckon this is the Norseman bike course, Never ridden but on the bucket list :D
Not sure what's more nauseating - lower water quality standards, or more sportswashing :)
Tri-spy: Has to be Norseman! Been in the ballot 4 years in a row now, hoping for a chance to see it live.
Did you see our film on Norseman?! it is incredible if we may say so: th-cam.com/video/iGWNdmS9S2E/w-d-xo.html
I got it wrong with the bike course.... it wasn't Nice where i will race. It was Roth where i raced last summer. Best experience of my life!!!
Tri-Spy: Norseman! One for the bucket list.
Great show.

Wow!
Now that's some feat!🔥
Thanks for the great solo show!!

thanks so much! Let us see what we can do, the swim is usually the most daunting for most AG's!
Who doesn't love maps especially course maps :). There's a picture in pretty much every course.
Tri-Spy Norseman! GTN bringing out the icons.
😎
TriSpy: Norseman, a course I'd love to do......
The overall winner of the T100 how can you be classed as World Championships when it’s by invitation only and not all pros have the opportunity.
Definitely the Norseman bike course!

@@gtn Yes but I also remember hours staring at that map being support crew for my crazy husband 😂

Reducing drafting is a joke. Hope they just do it to lower the boundary to finally call out drafts
Hard to say why World Triathlon has come to that decision on drafting 🤔
How do you get into the water from e.g. a pontoon if you are not allowed to propel yourself forward? Asking for my mate Paul.
Psh. I spy Norseman bike course. Easy! Well, easy to see, another story to ride!
Can we bring Superfrog back in San Diego now?
Tri Spy : Norseman. ❤
Why is Heather reduced to Johnny no mates as far as hosting the GTN show? A curious display. 😮
Tri spy - the worlds toughest triathlon - Norseman 🇳🇴
Nobody really needs to wear a watch. Official timers get the job done for you. The map is Norseman.
Tri spy: Norseman bike course ;)
Try-Spy: point to point course? Norseman!
Tri Spu - IM New Zealand
Unless the people judging the quality of the water acceptable spends an hour swimming in it for 7 days straight I'm calling it BS.
Counting down the days to the return of Je Chie Dans La Seine…
