This video was great! It’s really nice that you explain everything to make the video more accessible to those who might not have much experience in aviation. If you wanna take it up another notch, I’d recommend also implementing in charts and maps (such as showing the airport diagram during taxi, or showing where KSENO is on the SID when you mentioned the RNAV off the ground. Overall great video!
Great video!! I recently flew the late afternoon flight and it was in June when south Florida had flooding rains and flight delays. The flight was very good despite the delays.
I’ll try to upload my video. Not a scenic flight with rain outside but at least the same side of the city lights on landing. Forgot to ask did you see any lightning from distant thunderstorms to the east while in flight?
Another exquisite, outstanding video with Peter's remarkable narration ! Really surprising that the cabin lights were not dimmed during takeoff...! You unequivocally clarified the reason for dimming during takeoff, thanks for that. Please have a safe and enjoyable trip back home.
8:36 - - 8:46 Yep - a rather hefty hub if I recall correctly. Looking at a terminal map for the first time in a long time, I had forgotten that the A-D concourses had all been merged into one "north terminal."
I am used to seeing the LaGuardia airport videos. There is only so much you can cover at LaGuardia. Your videos are great. Please continue to expand your videos to include more airlines and more cities like you did on this video.
Thanks! My videos mostly reflect flights that I have to take to be in cities i need to be in. So rather than selecting flights specifically for this channel, flights are selected based on personal necessity. That means more LaGuardia videos but in each of those I demonstrate how each flight is different.
I was just in Peru three months ago! Awesome country! I flew Delta to Lima, then Latam to Cusco. You're probably back already and know this, but the extra security screening right before boarding on the way home really threw me for a loop.
@@PeterMasella Well, technically yes, and chose my window seat accordingly. But it was pouring rain every time I landed at Lima, so I couldn't see anything anyway...
So you weren’t born then but the US carriers to Lima were Pan Am and Braniff. In my college years I worked in an office with a retired Pan Am NAVIGATOR who was Miami based. Think about how technology has changed international flights. Braniff was a great airline-only flew them domestic-they were the north-south mainline through mid America.
In the 30’s-60’s. Correction on Lima. Braniff got the western South American cities and Pan Am got the eastern South American cities from US (Miami. New York). As deregulation killed these carriers, American got Braniff’s routes to SA and United got Pan Am’s. (My recollection). Of course today it’s any carrier flying anywhere they think they can make money. My last business trip to SA was on a United 747 MIA-EZE, in the mid-80’s. I believe today UA only serves EZE from Houston.
Hey man, nice video. What seat number did you happen to sit on? I want to make sure I don’t sit on the middle of the jet wing , which would prevent a lot of sighting into Lima. Thanks!
QUANTAS is known for keeping the lights on in the cabin during takeoff and landing. you can find videos from various passengers who flew on QUANTAS on A380 as well as 787-9 who talked about this very problem
@@PeterMasellai have no clue as to why they do it. You have to ask QUANTAS in order to get an answer. Of course it is unsafe in case of any emergency since people's eyes will not adapt to the darkness outside fast if needed for an evacuation
By international agreement ATC and pilots need to be capable of speaking in English using standard aviation phraseology but at many airports around the world they revert informally to the local language at times when everyone on the freq is local and fluent. When there are no English speakers on the freq it would be ridiculous for everyone to try and speak English when that could actually reduce safety or efficiency.
@@PeterMasella Did you see that Ed Bastian mentioned that Delta Airlines is considering eliminating the mileage accruals based on distance with SkyTeam partners? Another Delta enhancement. He mentioned going with a flat rate earn depending on fare class.
Boeing you say.... No thanks. I'd rather take my chances walking through Mexico and Central America and attempt to cut my way through the Darien Gap on foot, than to fly on ANY Boeing plane again. I am Airbus 100% or I simply don't fly.
Hi Peter, Great video, have a fantastic time in Peru!

Good video. The sunrise was spectacular. Red-eye flight can be tiring and sometimes it's hard to stay awake to film the service onboard.
So true!
Thanks for the info + video!
You bet!
Surprising that a a very experience traveler like Peter would not question the unnecessary 4 hours before departure check in at MIA
I did question it! But I still enjoy spending time at airports!
@@PeterMasella Hi Peter did you find out why the 4 hours to check in? BTW I do like your videos

New terminal in Peru will open in December and will be the biggest in South America, would love to see a video of you flying in next year
Cool! I wish I had waited till then!
Lots of cargo traffic in the middle of the night. Miami is so pretty at night
