Original RE1 a masterpiece 1000% It may not be perfect but it has its charm and thats what makes it timeless. Remakes look realistic but they dont have the charm and magic of the originals.
One of my first gaming experiences was with my older brother's copy of RE2, I managed to walk forward just long enough to get grabbed by one of the first zombies and immediately freaked out! I tried frantically pressing every button but couldn't grasp the tank controls quick enough to save myself. I had enough knowledge of video games by that point to know that "start button = game stops", except I was already getting mauled to death by that point and the screen had already flashed. So little 4ish year old me is frantically slamming on the start button, losing his mind, questioning why the game won't stop as a zombie tears into Leon and the screen goes dark. I was horrified by the game, like it had forced me to watch it kill my character in a bloodier fashion than anything I had ever seen in a video game. I shut the playstation off and didn't touch it for a couple weeks, but the last thing I saw was the Birkin eye staring down at me from that old buzzing CRT. That was my favorite game to watch my dad play when I was 4ish. One day, I decided I wanted to play it for myself, but I didn't even get as far as you did. The intro scene before the main menu was enough to freak me out and make me hit the power button on that PlayStation.

I'm old LOL I got a PSOne for Christmas '97, my senior year in high school, specifically because of Final Fantasy 7 making the jump from Nintendo. The next day I picked up Resident Evil and was blown away; immediately became one of my forever favorite games. That said, the dogs jumping through the windows was so startling I immediately shut the game off that first night playing it 😅
@@TasTheWatcher and in yet another timeline, we're about to get Sweet Home 9 after that series was loosely based on a very old, little heard of NES game called Resident Evil.
I miss being young and exploring the mansion like it was an open world game. It practically was when it came out. Going from a Sega Genesis to this was jaw dropping. No internet and played it %100 blind. Took forever because I was so absorbed in it. Part of the fun was getting through a section looking back at your last save and debating on reloading it because you know you could've done better and have no idea what is next.
Damn I used to watch some of your zombies content like 3-4 years ago, its great to see youre finding more success now! keep it up these are great videos
always nice to see someone who gets it. the camera angles and controls work together. also, i love the original because of the voice acting, not in spite of it. even so, the remake is the gold standard of remakes for me. only problem with that one is the weird attempt at making "jill sandwich" work in the new vibe
@@Resimaster I mean, fair question I suppose. I'm usually a staunch adherent to playing a series in order from the beginning, even if the games are anthologies, but I had friends that wanted to play the coop so thus far that's all I've experienced. I'd like to get into the other games, but I have a lot of other stuff on my list and frankly this series is fairly low priority for me, especially as someone who cares a lot about narrative in games.
@@agroed 5 and 6 are regarded the worst re games. In my opinion 1 and 2 original and remakes are the best ones. RE3, code Veronica and Zero are quite good too. 7 and 8 are good games but don't feel like a RE game
Played this one first time around in 1996. I was just finishing secondary school so I would have been 16 or so. I had no idea what it was and man, it blew me away! Great video dude, really enjoyed the retrospective! Nice to see other people enjoy it so much too
im so glad youre doing this series. much like your self my experience with this game at such an early age also made me a huge fan of the franchise and survival horror in general. in fact between RE and megaman i owe my entire childhood to capcom.
I wanna bring up a special shout out to those guys on the RE HD project. If you haven't tried it out yet, do it! What they managed to do was really clean up the first three RE games and they look absolutely incredible! Especially seeing the finer attention to details on the billboards for example in Raccoon city.
As always I love your videos, and I really appreciate this "change" in which you put alot of personal stuff and be more talkative about everything instead of just describing everything. Can't wait for the rest, RE is also one of my favourite series ❤
I miss the old times when there was no internet. When we played these games, nobody talked what was the annoying thing in it. Everyone moatly talked about what is good in them. Nobody talked about the loading lenght or 60FPS. We talked about how games are starting to feel like watching a movies.
Great little video. By the sounds of it I’m a bit older than you but good to see you can appreciate the old classics. Actually played through this one a few months ago for I can’t remember how many times. Big fan of the franchise although I do prefer the old tank controls the most. And I never finished 6. I think CV is my favourite. Or 2. Keep up the great work
I've to say i really enjoy the games you're reviewing. Resident Evil 1 was my second playstation game. I was 8 and used to play Master System and Genesis. I got the PS1 for Christmas. First game was Formula 1. I even remember i played with Barrichello. Then i booted RE. The turning zombie traumatised me for at least 5/6 years. My parents didn't know. I still followed my dad playing the game, it was fascinating
I recently played through Resident Evil DS, which is an updated version of the original game for the first time. I went in blind and was surprised with how good the game actually is. The main thing that blew my mind about it is the two characters having entirely different paths through the mansion. The use of lockpicks vs keys and discovering the path each character takes through the mansion adds so much to the game. After that, I played RE2 on PlayStation and it takes things to the next level. Everything that made RE great, RE2 improved on to a degree that I would even say is perfect. I'll get around to RE3 sometime soon.
What I really appreciate about the OG RE that the Remake and newer games don’t get is how wrong the Spencer Estate feels. The brightly colored walls and sparsely decorated rooms were a limitation at the time, but they allow importance to be put on how unnatural and uncanny the mansion is. It feels less like a lived in house and more like a haunted funhouse. Like Jeffrey Dahmer or John Wayne Gayce is about to pop out of a door and start chasing you.
Great review. I like that ammo doesn’t auto combine in item box, there are some instances when you want to take a few powerful rounds to use with the idea of opening up an extra slot for carry items
These games are such a part of my childhood. I bought the directors cut on the PS1 at Wal Mart one night (or rather my mom bought it for me) in 1997. I still remember the car ride home, looking at the back of the jewel case (and being excited because it was the first two disc game I had owned), and being even more excited to play it. I booted it up and immediately developed a crush on the live action actress that played Jill in the cutscene lol. Eventually me and my best friend became obsessed with the games. I'd keep the controller in hand and play the combat and the game itself while my friend always solved the puzzles and watched the playthrough. I'm 39 now. Me and my best friend still live within a few miles from each other, and every once in a while we get together and watch as our kids play Resident Evil (only the roles are reversed, his son plays through the game and my daughter watches and solves the puzzles lol).
I started gaming around the same age, I was 5 years old when I watched my parents play through resident evil 2. My mom would play Claire’s and my dad Leon’s. My dad finally let me play as Leon and I remember dying at the beginning level a dozen times before I finally made it to Kendo’s
I used to watch my dad play at 5 years old because i couldn't get passed the zombie in the map room. Now my 5 year old son has started watching me as i replay them this year. At first he only heard me playing on my handheld(as he watched his cartoons) and the noises scared him so he'd ask me to turn it off. Over the next 2 days he'd ask about the game and ask me to play it then to turn it off. Now he asks me to play it so he can watch now everyday. Im waiting him to ask to try it .
I have been looking for more people to say this. I only saw one say it in years. I recently got both the GameCube remake and Directors Cut with the OG soundtrack, beat both with one character. The OG is much better and is effortlessly scary while the remake tries too hard with many things. OG overall is scarier, especially in the 2nd half. More fun too.
I agree. The remake and the additions they made to it were great, but I find the original so bloody re-playable. The amount of times I have gone through the PS1 & DS versions is nuts.
I found your channel with your Ace Combat retrospectives, which is a series I never played. One of my friends had Resident Evil and although I had a few shots at the game, Silent Hill would have been the first Survival Horror I played all the way through. After being gifted a Playstation, I eventually got my own copy and played through it.
This was also the first game I remember playing. My dad recently bought a PS1 and I was about 5 or 6 years old Also I totally agree with the controls and camera angles. I still play these games today and the controls are so easy to pick up.
My only sadness from the video is the lack of safe room mention! It’s literally my favorite part of the franchise psychologically because of the dichotomy between the fear of the game then finding those little pieces of heaven. ❤
I still remember the first time I played this. I didn't get in on it in 1996, but on the director's cut a year later. I bought a copy of CVG magazine for their world exclusive coverage of Tomb Raider 2, and in that same mage they had a two page spread of the director's cut, showing all the characters with a biographies, it was really quite detailed. I remember playing through it with a buddy, he handled the controls and I was trying to give him instructions as to where to go. I was 13 but some of the stuff was brutal (The intro scene death of Joseph and the cutscene debuting the hunters were the stuff of nightmares). It was an incredible experience though, and I've played all the game since and I'm in my 40s. Hopefully they never stop making them.
Love seeing RE getting a retrospective series on your channel! Your MGS series drew me in, and I'm looking forward to seeing how your RE series will go. If you loved RE 1, I would suggest that you find a way to play or at least watch a playthrough of the game that heavily inspired it: Alone in the Dark. I remember watching snippets of it when I was young, and recently discovered RE was inspired by it in loads of ways. It's definitely on the inaccessible side by today's standards, and even more clunky than RE 1, but the standout design elements will be obvious immediately.
This was my first ever survival horror game, I even had the big thick chunky PS1 case for it, not the directors cut. Young me would be proud of the no save run I did just a couple of years ago. The scariest part of that run was when I got caught in the corner of the first zombies hallway by the hunters in the latter half. As it turns out, RE1 is still scary...
I just beat the Directors Cut with the original soundtrack and yes this game is still scary. I used to think the remake was scarier and it is at first cause it's darker but the original is realistically dim and well lit in many areas and can scare you. Scarier in the 2nd half too.
3:19 In Japan, it's even more hardcore. For Chris, you didn't mention that Rebecca can heal you for free 2 times if she's in some rooms. 16:17 It's not infected, it's manufactured by Umbrella themselves.
5:00 FFX has developed a very simple solution to this. If you continue to hold your analogue stick in the direction you were holding it during a camera transition, you will keep running the way you were going. If you were to change directions of the stick or let go of it, the controls would then change to account for the new camera angle.
The HD remaster for RE1 Remake also does this if you choose the modern analog control scheme. If you prefer the original tank controls though, you can just choose ‘classic’ or use the d-pad.
Resident evil came out before the Dualshock controller so they really didn't have the option. They did release the Dualshock edition later but by that point everyone had gotten used to the tank controls so they probably didn't care about implementing an alternative control scheme.
Funny thing about the voice acting: Chris's voice actor was the late Scott McCulloch, whose other big name role was Richter Belmont in Castlevania: Symphony of the Night. For maximum lulz, Dracula in that game was none other than Michael Guinn, who'd voice Harry Mason in Silent Hill with similar so-bad-it's-goodness.
4:30 If I recall correctly, RE0 has an optional control scheme where you move in the direction you point the stick in. Even the camera angle changes, your character will continue moving in the direction they were already moving until you shift your direction on the control stick.
Playing video games for me feels like something I rember doing since I was born. Like I rember playing games like Wolfenstein and then doom as a little kid. We are talking like 4 or 5 years old. It's funny because I rember before I was 10 me and my dad had created a legit functional level for doom together.( Never uploaded it because I was still young to fully understand the internet and my dad was honestly too embarrassed to upload it) Honestly it was more of a bonding experience for both of us and not something we took seriously.
The original RE scared the crap outta me as a young kid. I didn't play it, I watched bits a pieces as a kid. The live action opening scared me. Hell, the main menu of Chris getting attacked scared me, lol. The Zombie you first encounter was seared into my brain. Years later, as a teenager in high school I played it on my ps3 after I downloaded it off the PSN store. I laughed saying I can't believe this scared me as a kid but it was revolutionary at the time. After that I've played almost every RE games and it's one of my favorite video game franchises. RE 2 (Original and Remake) and RE4 and RE Village and RE1 (Original and Remake) are my favorite entries in the franchise.
Have the fondest memories of playing Resident Evil 1 at a very young age and being scared off that first zombie cutscene. Also, the dialogue is the best even if it is cheesy. Lastly, in Director's Cut easy advanced is my favorite mode as it combines the double ammo of standard with the ability to get crits that comes with advanced.
Amazing! After watching your entire Metal Gear series, I was looking forward to your next project and Im glad you picked one of the greatest ever series! Are you gonna do EVERY RE game or just the mainline numbered games? IMO you should leave the remakes and the “Chronicles” etc for the end.
I play resident evil 1 for ds and i cant stop playing it/thinking about it. The ds port is hands down one of the best games for the ds, i had this for the ps1 and i usually only save the 3ds for traveling so playing this is so much fun. Only problem is the puzzles are kinda hard so you have to watch videos to get further which i would rather explore as player then use a guide which makes it frustrating
Pretty excited to see you review the resident evil series love the games but it would be pretty cool to see yakuza in the future considering it’s a series I barely got into a couple of years ago.
Tank controls are just something I can't get used to. It makes the game scarier because I can't control the cjaracter as well but I am also frustrated because I feel like the deaths aren't my fault. Damn Silent Hill 1!
RE1 for PS1 was my first introduction to games as well at age 3-4 in the late 90’s “98-99” i was literally multitasking playing with my fake kitchen playhouse with the plastic food and this. Never beat it until 5 years later. But at that age i knew wesker was a bad man and i needed all the toys from KB TOYS. best was the Forest figure whose arms flipped up and down
I plan to one day introduce my future kid(s) to the classics I grew up with just like your dad did, but uh... I'll definitely omit the T and M rated games until much later on, unless if I feel they could handle it if I supervised them. I remember trying out RE1 when it was new on the PS1... couldn't finish it since it creeped me out Then I tried the remake on the Gamecube... also couldn't finish it as a teen because it creeped me out Eventually I played through and finished the DS port during college... as a bonus, you can skip the door-opening transitions, you always have the map open on the second screen AND you can keep your knife equipped without having it take up a slot... Definitely feels like the definitive version of the original (aside from the opening live-action movie still being mildly censored)
There is also the Remaster which seems to technically be a game Reimagining due to added areas and stuff being added into the story. And this is not including differences between different versions of RE like the Ticks (Reskined Hunters) on the Sega Saturn.
About that hunter leaping attack... They NEVER do it if you're in green health, making green herbs very valuable. Also, if you try and complete the game without saving then they'll use that attack FAR more often as a way to increase the likelihood that your run dies. If you're going for a no-death run then never, ever mix green herbs together, they're far more valuable separate.
Another reason why tank controls were used is because analogs sticks did not exist when RE was first released. That’s why they made a big deal about the dual shock edition. which is also the version with the infamous basement theme
I love this game so much but I was legitimately not able to beat it (I've watched full playthroughs) I tried the tank controls for the first time at 23 and my zoomer brain just could not comprehend it and I bitched out. But I still love this game and series
I though i was young when i first played re1 😂 i was maybe 8 or something, no matter.. I love the first re very much and there are two things i wanna say. There is a difficulty Option in the main screen, as far as i remember there is „training“and „Standard“ Mode, you can make the game a little easier when pressing to the right on the ps1 buttons for 3-4 seconds.. then you get the double amount of any ammo you pick up the whole playthrough. And the creepy music in the kichen room is so haunting… i love that creepy sound, my dad had 2 different Versions of this game, the regulare ps1 version from 1996 and a Director‘s cut version, and none of them included that trumpet clown music i hear everywhere on RE TH-cam Videos, i whish i could hear that stuff as a kid 🤣 Keep it up, i Hope you will Make some looooong dark Souls Videos, cheers 🍻🍻
The difficulty selection was added in the Director's Cut! In the original PS1 release (the one I'm playing here), you just started up a game and went straight to the character select :)
Replayed on PS4 2016 with my dad 8 month before his death (I can tell from the dates of the trophies). Now replaying it trying to get all the trophies. I didn't have a PS1 so first time I played it was on Gamecube. Damn, never had played tank controls before, it almost killed me. Till I realized I could switch to "normal", killed me again 😄.
Finally I'm here kinda early. I've heard that they wanted this game to be a first person game but they changed it into fixed camera angles because of Alone in the Dark and I think that was a good idea. I really like the Resident Evil/Biohazard series but I'm not much of a horror fan so I like the sequels a lot more; I tried playing the first game and I didn't like it too much but I might come back later, I like RE2 more.
Love your begining of your story with your dad. Though I wasn't 3 playing resident evil came out i was born in ,85 and when resident evil came out me and my bro were hanging out as little kids playing the trilogy my bro was born in 84 and we grew up on night of the living dead the 1994 version and the original black and white and recolor . Day of the dead and so on actually made it to a few conventions and did a few zombie walks in SF. Ak and well about it. The whole story is awesome not too into the movies but still a good horror movie fan. We both grew up to be both healthy well adjusted. Just kidding both of us are weird and gothic in the late 90s and early 2000s and actually are well adjusted for what seems like a plea for help and attention with full black and make up we just wanted to go to work and play video games pay our bills and be dorks. Best time ever in hard winters dark nights and playing video games. Dude best ever!
I was in a military family and during the first formative years of my life we would move all the time. My dad was frequently deployed throughout his career and participated in the Gulf War and Iraq War, leaving me and my mom alone anywhere between 2 to 6 months alone at a time. I didn't get to have a lot of friends as I never got to stay in one place for very long until I became 10, when we stayed in Italy for 6 years straight. Before that, I would play video games with my mom to pass the time. My mom was essentially my best friend until I finally got to interact with kids for at least a year and we played games from the nes, sega genesis, super nintendo, and playstation. We teamed up all the time in the original tmnt games with 3: Manhattan Project being my favorite (sorry Trappped in Time fans). We went through Dracula's castle in Castlevania 1, 2, 3, and Super Castlevania 4 and got to play Symphony of the Night (I loved that my mom wasn't at all attracted to Alucard and said he looked like a sissy, not handsome like my dad. They've been together for 35 years so far). Anything from Bomberman, Pokemon, Street Fighter, Mario, Resident Evil, to Metal Gear Solid we played together, and we got good. Unfortunately Sonic the Hedgehog was a solo experience for me because my mom said just watching the gameplay made her dizzy. Now I'm married to my wife who I've been with for 12 years and we are currently going through our lore-chronological play-through of the mainline Resident Evil games. My dad retired a couple years ago and my mom still plays games on her own. We got her a n3ds and a bunch of games before Nintendo shut down the e-shop and she recently told me how much she loves Metroid: Fusion and wondered why we never played Metroid when I was growing up. She was my best friend and gaming buddy for about a third of my life and I wish I told her more often that I appreciated that.
By not auto stacking ammo when placed in the item box it allows you to take small amounts of ammo for the upcoming areas. In this way if you're wise about your ammo use you will expend just enough to now free up a slot for an inventory item you will inevitably come across. I don't see it as a loss of quality of life but rather a strategic use of inventory
I appreciate the old school resident evils existing, because it got me some of my favorite games, but also FUCK playing them. the thing that got me through Crow Country was how easy it was on difficulty, and aiming actually still being guided. Fuck tank controls otherwise. To be clear: its not that I can't get used to them, I just don't find it fun.

Resident evil 4s prototype later became devil may cry1

@@TasTheWatcher and in yet another timeline, we're about to get Sweet Home 9 after that series was loosely based on a very old, little heard of NES game called Resident Evil.
Devil may cry startet as resident evil prototype
I really have an affinity for 1. It started it all. Id love to play the hd background one. Backgrounds all the way!
More Backgrounds i say!
I also jump onto this after only had a Genesis to play ( Megadrive in my case).
It scared the crap out of me.
And loved every second of it.
I played this in 1996 as a child and I still play it in 2024 as a middle age man
I was born in 96 but grew up playing RE4 than later on playing all of the other RE games
This game has a special place in my heart. And the way they perfected the visuals of the game on the GameCube, just the icing on the cake.
I'm super hyped for this series. I've only played 5 and 6 personally so I'm excited to see which games I should jump into.
Not to be rude, but why start a series on 5 and 6? Surely those numbers would imply you were missing a large amount of the story.
@@miguelalves7333Nice bait.

What they managed to do was really clean up the first three RE games and
they look absolutely incredible!
The one that kicked it all off, ahh nostalgia just waiting til I cry later and scream in terror.
Well done. Thanks to you too, as you definitely had been put yourself through so much time-desiring-situation as this kind of reviews desire:)
I miss the old times when there was no internet. When we played these games, nobody talked what was the annoying thing in it. Everyone moatly talked about what is good in them. Nobody talked about the loading lenght or 60FPS. We talked about how games are starting to feel like watching a movies.
no one talks about coach op.our watch u friends played it.i missed the 90s I grew up that era
Great video, it is good to see a new series of videos
I honestly don’t understand the hate for tank controls.
@@wes773105333 what's your take on RE2 compared to RE2 Remake?
I literally bought a Playstation for this game after I tried at a friend's house back in the day. Still my favorite game ever. Good video!
No way guys, Evil is taking Residence!
New subscriber. Great content! I like the simple delivery and your pronunciation.
I started gaming around the same age, I was 5 years old when I watched my parents play through resident evil 2. My mom would play Claire’s and my dad Leon’s. My dad finally let me play as Leon and I remember dying at the beginning level a dozen times before I finally made it to Kendo’s
for anyone interested win playing the game try the 2015 remake...iits even better and scarier than the original..harder too!
Unpopular opinion, the original is better than the remake. More sense of freedom and branching paths, less boring tasks and unnecessary backtracking
True story
I’d say that’s true but love the additions of Lisa and crimson heads
I agree. The remake and the additions they made to it were great, but I find the original so bloody re-playable. The amount of times I have gone through the PS1 & DS versions is nuts.
Agreed!
Excellent explanation on "Resident Evil 1 Original, " thank you very much! ❤ ( 08-23-24 ) Friday
My dad recently bought a PS1 and I was about 5 or 6 years old
Also I totally agree with the controls and camera angles.
I gotta ask. Wtf was that chopper pilot doing having a rocket launcher and an empty helipad right there on the premises? Chickenshit Brad
Also my first gaming experience.
The spiders terrified me as a kid.
It's actually been on my backlog for years and I've just never gotten to it 😅
This was my first ever survival horror game, I even had the big thick chunky PS1 case for it, not the directors cut.
Me too! My first games were Resident Evil 2 and Megaman X4; I played them when I was 6 years old!
RE3 and Neversofts Spider-man are some of the earliest memories i have. Probably why both franchises are so close to my heart.
RE1 is in my top 5 games of all time, played it for the first time at 7 years old, can’t imagine being 3 lol
Devil may cry did the same thing.
Oddly enough the resident evil 2 n64 version fixed this.
@@jimmynagy2662only thing I don't like about that, is you can't speed run with tank controls, that is the only thing I don't like about RE 1 remake
Bro metal gear solid then resident evil? I've postponed long enough I'm subscribing. Keep up the great work 👍🏻
I don't even care how good this video is......but the title got me to subscribe
The mid to late 90’s was a great time for games. Resident evil will always be my favourite, hands down.
Amazing! After watching your entire Metal Gear series, I was looking forward to your next project and Im glad you picked one of the greatest ever series!
Are you gonna do EVERY RE game or just the mainline numbered games? IMO you should leave the remakes and the “Chronicles” etc for the end.
EVERY game in release order, just as god intended :)
I wish i had the same introduction to re great watch thanks all the best from north east of England
Best decision Capcom made regarding to this series is the change of name from Biohazard to Resident Evil when porting the game outside of Japan.
I do like both names, but Resident Evil just feels right :)
They had to due to copyright issues.
Hey the first time I heard "stop it don't open that door!" it legit gave me chills and goosebumps lol.
I'm the same with Tank controls I love them tbh, I got used to them over time playing Resi Ditectors Cut and the RE2 demo.
I love this game and series. I was hoping you would bring up the directors cut basement music lol
I remember trying out RE1 when it was new on the PS1... couldn't finish it since it creeped me out
Then I tried the remake on the Gamecube... also couldn't finish it as a teen because it creeped me out
Eventually I played through and finished the DS port during college... as a bonus, you can skip the door-opening transitions, you always have the map open on the second screen AND you can keep your knife equipped without having it take up a slot...
The iconic zombie scene... Lord as a kid, this scene was my nightmare 😅
I love this game so much but I was legitimately not able to beat it (I've watched full playthroughs) I tried the tank controls for the first time at 23 and my zoomer brain just could not comprehend it and I bitched out. But I still love this game and series
Two more hours to go at work...will listen
I though i was young when i first played re1 😂 i was maybe 8 or something, no matter..
I love the first re very much and there are two things i wanna say.
There is a difficulty Option in the main screen, as far as i remember there is „training“and „Standard“ Mode, you can make the game a little easier when pressing to the right on the ps1 buttons for 3-4 seconds.. then you get the double amount of any ammo you pick up the whole playthrough.
And the creepy music in the kichen room is so haunting… i love that creepy sound, my dad had 2 different Versions of this game, the regulare ps1 version from 1996 and a Director‘s cut version, and none of them included that trumpet clown music i hear everywhere on RE TH-cam Videos, i whish i could hear that stuff as a kid 🤣
Keep it up, i Hope you will Make some looooong dark Souls Videos, cheers 🍻🍻
The difficulty selection was added in the Director's Cut! In the original PS1 release (the one I'm playing here), you just started up a game and went straight to the character select :)
@@notcole all right, i guess i played the Director‘s cut more then the other one 😁
Oh I just remembered that you'll have to play gaiden and the gamecom version
Still my favorite RE to date and my all time best PS1 game (and I love that GCN REmake too)
There is some really odd feeling music in RE1. I love it.
5:00 so true when I played re2 98 for the firsts couple times I couldn’t get into it then fully tried and beat Leon A in like a week
I was 4 or 5 when RE1 was given to me on PS1 back in 98.
Still my favourite franchise of all time with RE2 original my favourite game of all time 👌
Resident evil is my 3rd fav game franchise behind final fantasy and monster hunter i cant wait for the day they make an mmo resident evil
What’s crazy is when I was 2 my dad also got me to play resident evil for the ps1. Then clock tower
Also nin Manson took and rob zombie were definitely our choices in music
YOU'RE the perfect sequel.
In regards to the tank controls, it worked very well with onimusha 1 for ps2
In 1996, this was so revolutionary. "If you use the scattergun, it'll blow a zombies grape clean off!"
Resident 1 Original is flawless. Every game MUST play it.
@@truthseeker9692 every single game
It's so crazy how the dialogue in this game is so cheesy and yet has become so iconic such as the Jill sandwich line
The first time I ever played RE1 was the GameCube remake and it terrified me the main hall music made my hair stand up also the thunder and lightning also had me spooked and don’t get me started on the zombies because they made me turn off the game lol
