Bauer living in Japan probably made him realize how much a country can love the game of baseball. Thank you for making this video!
After watching Trevor over there and seeing the Baseball Doesn't Exist video on Japanese baseball. I don't think even Americans ever loved Baseball as much as the Japanese people do.
what an asinine statement @@JRock3091
In USA its the American sport but in Japan its a religion.
I want to tell you from Japan We hate him
Yeah I was blessed with a foul ball in my first Jball game from a Swallows hitter. Best souvenir a baseball fan could get. Ive seen 10 games in Japan and always loved it. Fans always share food with me and the balloons and chants keep if very US collage football like as a comparison. I was hoping he would stay in Japan but clearly he cant make as much money playing.
bro that 1st dominoes delivery guy had no shame asking for a tip lmao.
Lmao I thought the same
He gets laid shit so he relies on it
Paid
Tip culture in America
That wasn't even an ask, that was more like "so what is your method of payment for the tip?"
Something tells me Trever is going to help that mom with getting her kids to play baseball this season
Agreed...
Yeah he just left us hanging with no ending
@@Eddy_HVAC He may have. What he did get out was the cost of youth sports now. All 3 of my daughters play travel soccer and one also plays travel softball. I can tell you many girls with more talent won’t get that opportunity because of $$$$
That would be awesome ⚾️❤️❤️❤️
I was expecting the next segment to be him telling her he'll pay for her kids to play baseball and cover all the equipment costs. I'm assuming he did. That would be a good charity for him to put together. Helping families that can't afford the costs of little league.
Dude, Trevor, you're a genius. I really like that you're doing your part to revive baseball. I gotta tell you, I'd really like to see you in a Reds uniform again, but sounds like the Front Office won't make it happen. Hope you land with a team soon in the majors!
I think Trevor has been through a ton in his career. Some fair, some unfair, but dude is turning into the best ambassador for the game we could ask for. Good for him.
As a Clevelander, I'll always remember the finger wound in the 2016 ALCS. Can't believe it has almost been 8 years.
He's a stain
@@erics2132How dumbass?
Its prolly him trying to "pay his dues" to get the higher ups to let him get back to where he belongs.
So true man. It is such a shame he was blacklisted. Idk what went down with those girls but neither does anyone else. He should be given another chance IMO.
That Dumb and Dumber reference on the Rhino was legendary
It’s funny how things have changed over generations… baseball was invented as a way to “pass the time” and nowadays people don’t have time for the game. It says a lot about how society has changed.
I believe it’s because here in America, we’ve become so obsessed with work and money, it takes up almost all our time and energy.
With social media and technology and the endless amounts of online entertainment, it’s so much better to watch a tv show on Netflix or scroll through endless amounts of TH-cam shorts or tik toks
Our attention spans are low, especially for the younger generation. In traffic there are so many drivers who cut each other off just to save 2 seconds.
Great observation thats literally whats killing the game in the 1980s in Ireland lots of kids would play ''rounders'', big organised baseball
games and you would litterally watch the other players both good and bad waiting to pitch field or take your turn at bat....now kids as young as 8 or 9 all have smart phones, they're gaming, overeating or at least eating all the wrong stuff.
We have not improved and l've traveled widely Europe, Africa,
America its similar in most countries and places.
So true
Great comment!
Your statement is true. But this applies all over the world. Baseball has just too much games and the game takes too long. @@ChiSoxEdits
Living in Las Vegas and seeing the incredible magnitude of the local youth baseball scene, you would never think baseball is dying... thousands of kids playing every day, everywhere. impossible to get a batting cage or a field sometimes. And very good talent...
In Sacramento it seems really popular. A lot of the kids at my son's elementary school play it and go to the camps and all that. Some of my kid's friends do private lessons.
Seems to be the most popular youth sport in this particular neighborhood, then there is a big gap then soccer and basketball.
But in other neighborhoods I think soccer is the #1 sport for the elementary ages.
@@nofurtherwest3474 From Yuba city, at least 10-15 years ago it was really popular in our area right down 99 as well, always surprised the best sacramento could muster was a AAA team
@@williammason2799 I think Sac is just not one of the big markets, though its growing.
Cool I've been to Yuba City for the chinese festival thing.
This is the biggest change in my view. There is no “casual little league” anymore. A kid has to devote his life to it, playing travel, taking lessons, etc - or there’s no place for him. Little league is full of “gamers” who play on travel teams and are playing year round. So - while there is a passionate base of players, less people are going to play overall.
Also live in Vegas and you’re right. Huge baseball scene here
The Mom at the end had a better arm and mechanics than most those guys
probably because most of those guys didnt play baseball
the dad at around 6min was decent
@@ChairmanMeow1 For never having played baseball, he had really good mechanics
For never playing baseball all of them have decent mechanics lol
Trevor seemed to sense it too that's why he asked right away if she'd ever played softball
I don’t watch baseball on tv and I never played baseball. I’ve been to maybe a dozen or so games in my life. But I’ve gotta say, this is one of the most wholesome video I’ve ever seen and I watched every second of it. Great job!
The guy who was just chilling in the library killed me. just the "Uhm...I was just kinda chillin."
Especially with that long pause 😂
Playing catch is chillin!
Bro was stoned 😂
He was blazed out of his mind.
I made sure I subscribed after that 😭
This guy is the best thing for baseball, ever !!! BRING BAUER BACK TO THE US!!!! Also, love the interview with Theo. Amazing.
If only I could play catch with Trevor Bauer! That would be a dream come true
Somehow, knowing that will never happen, is a bit rewarding in itself.
The uber driver was so wholesome.
Very
Bro single-handed is growing the game of baseball. Respect
I know he doesn't get along with teammates is a big stigma. I wonder how japan teammates feel. I kinda think it went well if I had to guess. But he's great for baseball and I wish he had a better time with teammates. I think it might be useful for growing the game
And super to see playing with those who never have even played catch
@@kenw2225 yeah if you have a hard time no matter where you go, it's a "you" problem. Considering he's a trump-er I'm not too surprised honestly. He seems like he's one of the better ones though.
@@Vendrix86 What does his voting preferences have anything to do with the type of person he is?

The fact that he likes Trump despite everything so far, says something about him. Learn to think and use logic for once in your life.
pineapple and ham on pizza is the real reason why Trevor was kicked from the the mlb.
The fact that MLB didn’t do enough to keep you in and you are doing this for the sport says a lot about your character!
Funniest thing is the guy they’re trying to blackball from the league has done more for the popularity of the sport than MLB 😂😂 I honestly think people like Trevor and other baseball content creators are the way baseball will grow because young people like to watch TH-cam and creators like Trevor can make the game so much more accessible than a longwinded 9 inning game, because at the end of the day kids have a very short attention span
@@rikupv agreed
They did Trevor so wrong! Once that witch was proven to be a liar they should have blasted his name and apologized!
Hey Trevor, I felt so happy watching your video, I have a similar plan to spread baseball in Uganda using exactly your approach, I have dubbed it "Play Catch with Gerald Show"
My name is Kasozi Gerald, I am a baseball player in Uganda and I have a dream to spread the game of baseball and create my own version of MLB in Africa, I hope we can get in touch sometime
I’m in the video background! Playing pickleball.
I would’ve played catch! I have total FOMO now. 😂
So in little league I wasn't the coaches son or a friend of his son. I had just signed up because it was either that or soccer and baseball was still big in the late 80's. I got put at second base and did well there. However when I got moved to the outfield I developed a gnarly case of the yips and couldn't hit the cutoff man to save my life (the looks I got were not encouraging despite the low stakes) so since no one offered instruction of any kind beyond a few hitting drills I got moved to the bench where I kind of just hung out till I had enough and left. That all happened from the time I was 6 until I was 8. The sad thing is I was a great athlete, but baseball is one of those things and my dad wasn't around to show me. Despite all that I still loved the game and I still do.
Seeing the baseball culture in Japan makes me realize just how dedicated they are to the game, wish we had more of that here. Great video
Turning lemons into Lemonade given your past couple of years. Great job and keep up the good work!
And this is why, this is why we all love Trevor.
What would get me back to baseball reinstate Trevor Bauer!!
Thanks!
He has been reinstated. he just doesn't have a contract yet
Trevor, you should do follow-ups with these people in like a year...or even invite them to a game with you!
Bauer out here changing more lives then he ever thought he could do. Super proud of this man for giving back after so many mistakes. Making an impact by reliving all over again.
What mistakes were those? Getting falsely accused of something?
Hey I’m a huge Bauer fan so not knocking the guy at all. But yes this things are mistakes regardless of whatever happened.
@@ikemunoz951you are right. The guy should live in a cave so you don’t perceive him living life like a regular person as a mistake. /s

It's amazing to me that Trevor is doing so much to grow the game of baseball even though the MLB is out to get him.
MLB couldn’t have a better person representing them…such a shame. Keep at it, Trev.

I WANT TO REQUEST MORE CONTENT OUTSIDE OF THE FIELD PLEASE!
The pickleball angle hits home because my kids all played baseball at the local ball park, which has 4 little-league fields. Later games would have to be called when the sun went down. For years the league tried to get the city to put up lights, but it was too expensive. Then they installed pickleball courts on the other side of the park... with lights. So now the baseball teams have to pack up at dusk, but the 70yos can keep on plinking until the park closes at 10pm, and then they come back at 6am.
This both saddens me and angers me. Luckily we live near fields with lights so my kids can play past dusk. We need to bring back baseball!!
This!
Agree. And if played with wood bats, baseball does not cause noise issues like pickleball. I've read a boatload of articles about night pickleball causing big problems in neighborhoods.
@@ILruffian absolutely, and especially for the fact that more decent (affordable) bamboo bats come up with good publicity like those of BamBooBat or MPowered, that would endure off barrel contact better, thus be more novice-friendly.
I was so bad at baseball and I was too shy to ask people how to improve. But I loved it. Eventually, I gave up at 12 years of age. Since then I often wished we had tried to have fun rather than focusing on trying to be good at it and being competitive. It's great to see Trever reaching out to strangers like this. I wish I had someone like him 40 years ago.
Baseball is dying. Yeah. 2023 paid attendance was 70,747,365, up around 10% over 2022. No one wanted to watch the "star studded" Arizona Diamondbacks vs the Texas Rangers.
I hope you hooked that family up at the end! Those kids deserve more equipment to play ball
The way that ended. Yeah, there's gotta be more

THe state of MLB has me really depressed. A game I have loved for 7 decades (Pirates since 67) for many reasons I have actually considered shelving like I have football & basketball but would really make my excitement return would be if Ben Cherington did what needs to be done and gets your name on a contract. I will purchase a season ticket package within 24 hours of your signing. Best of luck whatever your destination!
They have no idea😂 I’d kill to play catch with a Cy young pitcher
Man between you and Eric, you guys have made baseball interesting for the young guns. Hell even reintroduced it to me. After not playing for 20 years I’m ordering my glove.
Great content. Being from Cuba, baseball is a big part of our culture so it's always been my favorite sport. It brings me great joy to see you trying to grow the popularity of the sport.
I love Cuban baseball culture. I found Cuban league games live on TH-cam ; the quality of that league is outstanding. I’d say AAA quality ball.
Baseball is dying, it's bc almost the fans are basically 40 and up. I'm an Angels fan bc that's where our dad took us as kids. We have 2002. We need pitching so reach out. 2.89 ERA next season for you
Grow up in East LA me and a few friends would get together and play baseball. Those were the happiest times of my life, however most of us chose to get into disruptive groups. I am 55 years old and I make better choices now and when I’m feeling stressed out, I go find a batting cage and it takes me back when things were innocent for me.
That's a great story, brotha
I love ya still love to play at times
I'm thinking about starting up a wiffleball league. If you think your stuff on a wiffleball diamond is as nasty as your fire power in baseball, what do you say you learn some wiffleball pitches? Would love to have you in western PA. Yours truly, a big fan named Franky. P.S. I never bought into any of that bs. I been there too man. Women need to be held accountable too.
Hey Trevor, I am a Cubs fan and I loooooved seeing that in this video. Sorry that our happiest moment was probably the opposite for your team. I think you are a great pitcher and I hope you get another shot in the MLB, hopefully with the Cubs. We need another STUD on the mound. Good luck and best wishes.
We could use a starter
Ever since they traded off the team it doesn’t feel like any of the cubs today are really cubs.
@@Shaqoneil81-ci7dr bro, this ain't 2016 🤣 The team would be dogshit if we had those cancers. Quit living in 2019🤣
@@Thatdud007 Yeah I get that but the team now just doesn’t have players that you feel really identify as “cubs”. They had players like that even through the bad years.
@@Shaqoneil81-ci7dr We have just as many Cubs that were brought up in the farm system as we did then. They just don't have the same star power. I feel like the cubs are really cubs. Happer has been with us since 2016-17, Hendricks is still there, morel was brought up in our farm system too. Idk, maybe you're just being nostalgic but the cubs today are definitely the cubs
Trev, MLB has to do what humans in general, have in our DNA. Forgive, n look at the person. Bauer has proven to have humility, be accountable, and striven to better himself as a person. Trev u have gone out of your comfort zone, and interacted here, and Japan with general public. You are a gem. N deserve to mow down MLB hitters. Godspeed
Come to southeast NC the first weekend in March for a teenager birthday party / baseball game... 😂😂😂 My son would be so star struck ... He is one of your biggest fans...
This is exactly what America needs to get people to interact again.
Great video. There are 2 things that hinder baseball in America. 1. the price of tickets is way too high for the average fan to experience it. 2. Most American's are wanting to be entertained without have to work with their minds to achieve the total experience. Once BB fans understand the game behind the surface experience it goes to another level.
Totally agree with #1. It costs me for a family of four about $600 dollars with everything to attend a Giants game. That's just for one single regular season game and not even the best seats!
Hi Trevor! My name is Clint and I would love to help you help America fall in love with baseball again. I love baseball with all of my heart, I’m 44 and I’m internally sad because I don’t play anymore, with my job and family, I find it hard to play. I also feel that America is missing something, baseball. If there’s anyway I can help you or team with anything baseball related, please let me know. I’d rather play baseball than eat, sleep, or live ❤😂 Let me know how I can help
In a way, it's really heartbreaking to see how far the game I love has fallen. Thanks for being an awesome ambassador for the game.
They play too many games. 162 game season you just ignore it after awhile.
The pitch clock and bigger bases killed baseball for me. It basically destroyed the traditional aspect of "America's Past Time". Pace of play rules were already written in the rule book, the umps just needed to enforce them. The pitch clock was giving me anxiety, I can no longer watch the game with a sense of leisure and therefore I'm done with that sport.
Mr. Bauer I must say as a Giants fan I wasn't too fond of you (can you blame me?) but after learning about everything....I wish you the best and hope you find yourself back in MLB. And I think this is the BEST video! We need to bring back catch!! I'm outside nearly every day with my two young boys playing catch and I always keep a few gloves and balls in my truck "just in case". This should be a nationwide campaign, everyone should do this! Bring back catch!!
Is this guy still in Japan? This guy congratulated American guy who committed crimes in Japan and got away back to USA. What a disgraceful thing to do.
I can’t stand when people still trash Trevor. The dude is so misunderstood. He’s a genuinely nice person, and is just different mentally that most people don’t understand. He really does want to help people, and his favorite sport, and videos like this get labeled as publicity stunts to make images better. I don’t believe that for a second. I genuinely believe he’s doing this because he wants to do good for others and his passion. He really gets the raw end of the deals. I hope he gets signed soon.
I think it is kind of a publicity stunt but that he also wanted to genuinely do it if that makes sense. I think he genuinely loves the sport and wants it to grow and wants others to love it like he does and he used this as an opportunity to show that side of himself to MLB in the hopes of getting a second chance.
Most Japanese people play catch very well and they often talk about baseball all year long even off season. When I used to live in America, most people were talking about NBA or NFL not MLB, which was so sad
This is seriously an awesome idea for a video. Would love to see more content like this with real interactions from loads of different people
Trevor if you ever film a video in NC I’ll for sure play catch with ya! Baseball is an acquired taste. It’s not for everyone. We’d all like to see the game have more action or move faster but that’s just not how the game works. Possibly eliminating foul balls on third strikes would speed the game up. I say this bc in the majors most hitters are good enough to foul pitches off just to get to the pitch they want.
Trevor, the biggest barrier to entry for playing baseball is the number of people you need to play a game. In pretty much every game, you only need at least two people to be able to play. Those games are basketball, soccer, golf, any net game (tennis, badminton, volleyball, pickleball, etc.), frisbee golf, normal frisbee, martial arts, wrestling, etc. And all of those games get better with only four players. Baseball, on the other hand, requires way more players. Even just to play casually, you need a pitcher, three basemen, and maybe some outfielders. And that's just for one team. You'd need maybe 12 players total for a light casual game. That's way harder to organize than a game that only requires a few people. That on top of all the gear you need is part of the reason why people don't love baseball as much anymore.
The byedone regime inflation adds to the problem
Somehow kids do it in Dominican Republic everyday. Literally with just a stick and bottle cap.
Hey, MLB, yeah... this guy is trying to be an ambassador for the game, and he has gone out of his way to try to bring families back to the ballpark, yet none of you are willing to give this man a chance to redeem himself. I hope MLB expands soon, if only to hopefully give two additional GMs a chance to prove that they are smart enough to put this man into their rotation. It's a shame that one person's false accusations can force someone out of their profession for 5 or 10% of their expected lifespan in a sport, but MLB, you are sure proving that you are willing to take anyone's word over a man whose opinion doesn't match the commissioner's if only to try and silence him and disassociate him from your game. 😢
Keep up the great work, Trevor, and someone will finally realize that you are not the man they perceive you to be, but better than most of them at being honest and being willing to grow the game. 😊
The Cubs winning the WS was the greatest moment of my life. Thank you for helping, Trevor.
I love this video and how you try to connect with people that you don't know. Maybe try it at a high school or a junior high. This is awesome stuff. I hope you continue to do videos like this in the future. Even though you are a professional baseball player, your video show the public that you are very much like a regular person off the field. Well done sir.
“You’ll play catch? Awesome! I need you to go stand behind the centerfield wall.”
Jokes aside though, an incredibly touching video. You’re doing a lot for the game. Great editing, awesome narration, and good conversations every time.
Trev I was a tribe fan when u were there. They sold there soul and changed there name. I follow the Erie Seawolves, so I became a Tiger fan.. So I'm begging u to sign with Detroit !!!!!!!
THIS is what will help grow the sport again. I remember players being very accessible growing up. Now, even at spring training, they completely ignore the fans. Of course talking about MLB sticking it to the fans, tickets are, in some cases, more than regular season tickets. That's absurd! Families save a lot of money, which isn't easy these days, they come down to Arizona or Florida, and just get raked over the coals. The problem is that it's not fans of the game running MLB. It's now hedge fund, let's make as much money as we can soak from people as fast as we can, mentality types.
I played catch with a stranger in big 5. once we got warm, we were throwing 100-120 feet across the store. Stuff of legends
I relate to the Dad that never played with a son that does. I learned so much watching my kids play. And honestly it made me appreciate the sport way more than I used to.
I never played baseball, live in Europe, grew up playing basketball. Still vividly remember my first encounter with baseball: the home run derby in Boston in 1999 or 2000. Have been watching MLB baseball for about 20 years now, and am a fervent follower since about 10 years. Why? I just got to know the game and fell in love with it. There is so much more going on than you'd think at first sight. And still now I learn new things all the time. Also, being at a ballpark is the best way to spend a summer afternoon! I make frequent trips to the US, just to watch baseball games.
Trevor got me into baseball. I even bought gloves for me and the kids. He is doing more for the sport than anyone else actively playing MLB.
OMG! For 2024, by far, this will be one of my favorite video. Thank you Trevor to trying to help bring life back into baseball. I do wish you a lot of success in whatever your life takes you.
Awesome video Trevor. Please sign with San Diego! Would love to have you here.
Glad to see a new video. I think this video is so important to drive up interest in the sport. You’re a legend, best of luck in contract negotiations/talks.
I was stationed in San Diego. We would do the flyovers with jets and helicopters before the game during the national anthem. My sons got to play catch with Andy Ashby, Steve Finley, Trevor Hoffman. It was such an awesome time and they even helped us get tryouts for the padres youth organization. Such awesome and humble guys!
Honestly, i went back to baseball because of momentum and Trevor. Big fan from Indonesia 🎉. Used to play Baseball until Junior High and it was the best time of my life. Watching your videos lit something in me and am thankful for that. Sadly Baseball is almost dead here. But, the softball and slowpitch community is getting bigger everyday and its close enough 😅
Honestly lost interest in mlb. Too much money being paid out. Going to a game is overly expensive. 700 million dollar contracts are crazy.
😂 having a 4 run lead and giving up a 5 run HR! That was good
5 run home run? That doesn't exist bro. Max runs u can get is 4 if the bases are juiced
@@Jarhead1086 Watch the video, that's exactly the point.

Bauer you’re a good dude! Wish nothing but the best for you
54 outs is too long, make it 5 outs per team per inning, 4 innings, total 40 outs, pitching changes between innings only. Will get higher scores, move more to a 4 quarters format.
I love this, Trevor you're a great guy. I was kind of hoping you would play catch with people that can play, but don't recognize you. You speed up the throws, toss in a first curve ball and see how that goes, go back to throwing, toss a change-up once the person is used to getting the ball at the same speed. You get the idea. Then when they say, "who are you?" the big reveal occurs. That I would watch.
Yes! I was hoping for something like that as well. Trevor needs to another video like that!
I used to not like baseball but my best friend and me played baseball and I liked it, I got a glove and I play with him all the time
Edit: he played baseball before i did
Take that MLB! Bauer is a bigger ambassador for baseball than anyone in your front office!
Very cool ! Trevor, I hope you can get back into the mlb if that’s what you want.
I would lost my S if TB or any major leaguer asked me to play catch , so cool Trevor👍👍👍
Once blackballed in mlb you are out for life….Just ask Pete Rose how he knows
Very cool! I never played on a baseball team but love to watch and talk about the game
I think people lack the attention span and the grit it takes to play baseball, that's why sports like soccer flourish
By the time I was in 9th grade, I was one of the best pitchers in the state. I quit playing after 11th grade because the pain in my elbow was so intense after games that I literally couldn’t sleep at night. With the right training I could have most likely pitched in the MLB. Instead, I despise the sport. I have never regretted quitting, and paid no attention to it until I found the Momentum a couple years ago. Since then, the only baseball content I watch is Momentum and your channel. MLB fucked you over, and their woke mentality will keep me away forever.
Trevor! You don't seem like a jerk in this video like I remember you from the past! Either you're trying to change you image or you're actually changing for real! Excellent I think. Kind of a fun video.
