    Glad you’re back. I’ve had the seat for about 8 months now and it breaks in nicely. I too am 6’ with bad knees and the seat has really made 150+ rides much more comfortable both in the knees and the butt and yes, no more slipping around.

      Even though I made the decision I made this weekend...I couldn't agree more with you. Made a big difference and to me the biggest improvement was solving the slippery seat of the stock 650! Thank you very much for the comment.

      Thanks Tony! I'm going to keep on making videos because it really helps me learn things about the bikes I'm riding and it keeps me interested and motivated. Appreciate the feedback!

    Welcome back; and thanks for explaining what happened. I've always enjoyed your videos and have the same bike. If you keep creating videos then I am sure people will watch them. I wonder if, perhaps, you started out at a pretty high standard (actual effort in making sure video, audio, and editing, were something you could be comfortable putting your name to) and that took so much time to achieve that it felt like a job rather than being enjoyable. I don't know how to "fix" that, other than to keep watchinv and liking your videos, so I'll do that. From all the way down here in Canberra, Australia, we're hoping you can find that happy place where your efforts and something you look forward to and that those efforts are rewarded. Good luck and thanks again for letting us know what happened and I'm looking forward to the next episode. Cheers

      Thank you Spock071! I really appreciate the comment and I've come to the conclusion that I really just like making the videos so I'm going to keep on doing it. It keeps me interested in riding and it helps me learn. I really enjoy learning how to edit videos as well. I have a long way to go but I appreciate the feedback! Best to you down under! FYI visiting Australia is one huge bucket list item my wife and I have! Let me know where the best place to plan on visiting is if I only get one shot at it! Thank you in advance!

    Greetings from Europe!
    I'm glad I found your channel, many info about the Ninja 650. Exactly what I was looking for because as a beginner I'm thinking of buying this bike and I also would like to try a higher seat because I am 185 cm tall. Instant subscribe and will share this channel.
    Thank you for the videos and keep up the good work!

    Ayy, that looks very cool actually. I am also 6' but I have slightly longer legs and shorter torso so I've been painstakingly enduring having to have my legs folded like some resting bird xD

    Missed your videos, glad you are back. Interesting to see the differences between the stock seat and the taller seat. I would expect it to soften with use. I have found the same when wearing jeans on my ninja, especially with my wife on the back, I tend to slide on the seat and end up pushed against the tank, not the most pleasant when you are out for a long ride. Unfortunately being a shorter rider, the taller seat won't be of any use to me, but it's interesting that Kawasaki have changed the texture of the seat. Really enjoy your videos, many thanks for sharing.

      Thanks Paul! Yeah the slippery seat of the stock was one of my least favorite things about this bike. I'm curious if they changed it on the 2018's...so if anyone out there knows let me know. I didn't pay attention to that when i was in the dealership this weekend. Thanks for the compliment as well and appreciate the feedback.

    Question is is it comfortable? My old bike I could ride all day long without any issue's. On the Ninja 650 my butt starts hurting after about an hour of riding. I have been thinking about buying this seat, or debating to just have something more custom done to mine..
    I understand wanting TH-cam to at least pay for itself.. (not even including time spent) but that's hard to do... I have over 50K subs and still it costs me more to make videos than what I get from TH-cam...I would suggest to just make content because it's something you enjoy and gives you fulfillment. It's rare to be able to make a living off of TH-cam but we can all wish for the best.. Maybe someday.. until then, I for one will keep making videos because I like doing it.

      Woot!! Congratulations on that beautiful blue! I just saw one of those while at the dealership this weekend. That is a really cool blue color they came up with! Let me know when you get it and tell us how you like it!

    Most likely your subscribers increased because the bike is really starting to catch on. I was all set to pull the trigger on a Z650 myself until I 'accidentally" tried the Ninja 650 and found I liked it even more than the Z. Non the less, they are both essentially the same bike and I look forward to seeing your further efforts. And because I'm 5'5"....this particular video means nothing to me. :)

    • @StormtrooperRides
      @StormtrooperRides  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      yeah I think Kawi really hit it out of the park with this design...as evidenced by them applying essentially the same design to the 400, 650 and 1000. More vids coming....though not with the 650 unfortunately. Thanks for the comment!

    I wish they made a taller seat that would fit the old '06 model. I'm only 5,10" but I have long legs and it is CRAMPED.

    Did you film the installation? That is what I was looking for!

    • @StormtrooperRides
      @StormtrooperRides  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Well there really isn't much to record. In this case the Kawasaki extended reach seat does not require removing hardware or anything else from the stock seat. It is a direct replacement and you literally just pop it on just the way the stock seat goes on. Hope that helps.

    • @StormtrooperRides
      @StormtrooperRides  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      yeah makes a huge difference on the 650 and/but most surprising the best feature of this seat is that you no longer slip around on the seat during braking/acceleration. Good luck and thanks for stopping by DJ!

      @StormtrooperRides  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I was right at 2K miles as well..I dont think I rode as much as you but I didn't touch my bike from November to May due to the crappy weather we were having here in my area. Congrats on that bike Erick! I know you love it because its one of the best out there.
