  • Today I'm going to cover all the mods I've done to the 2021 ZX-10R. From a visual standpoint, the bike is really starting to get where I want it now. On the performance side, this bike screams and with the ECU flash I've done its making over 190HP. I'll be interested to hear your feedback so leave a comment below in the comments!! Hay have a question when you flashed your bike did you have to do anything with the o2 sensor I seen where people say you have to unplug it others say you don’t have to do anything?

    • @StormtrooperRides
      @StormtrooperRides  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      In the case of the Brentune and pretty much any other flash that I've heard of, you MUST unplug the O2 sensor or it will not run right. In my case its directly in the instructions that you must unplug it but I believe this is true if the bike has been derestricted and the AFR tables have been modified. In the case of the 2021+ ZX10R its kind of a pain to get at as its under the fuel tank....took a little patience but at the end of the day it wasn't that bad to do. Hope that helps.

    I should do a video like this with my ZX10R. You need to get the OEM rear seat cowl. You got rid of the pegs but kept the seat lol. I will tell you now it is expensive nearly $300 but esthetically very pleasing. Also the winglet style mirrors are a must order from eBay and not rizoma save you some money. Quick release gas cap and Luimoto seat cover also very tasteful mods to have

    I have a 2018 ZX10R and have kept it "factory stock"..... so far.
    I did add Woodcraft case guards, axle, bar and frame sliders and
    swing arm spools. Oh, and Woodcraft rearsets. I keep thinking of
    getting the ecu flash but, it's already a beast in "stock" condition,
    maybe this coming season. 😉
    Beautiful bike, wish I could've got the KRT colors, had to "settle" for
    basic silver. Thanks for sharing what you've done.
    Keep yourself safe! 😃👍❤️🏍

      I really want to do that and I'm shooting to do that next season. I'm in weight loss mode again and I do not want to spend that kind of money on leathers and then not fit in them. Its definitely on my bucket list though and I'm ready to see what this bike can do. I'm really loving this bike now and much more confident with its power. I'm very much looking forward to getting started with track days. Hopefully this season we can meet up one of these weekends. Take care!

    Looks good ! There's not a whole lot of cosmetic changes you can do on the KRT version, carbon panels/front fender etc mess up the color-scheme i think. Hugger, chainguard and sprocket cover maybe ? Levers ? The Brembo lever is adjustable but not the clutch lever for some reason. I went with a set from italian performance technology, both are adjustable in distance/length and both are folding. Very happy with them but they're kinda pricey. Adding a decat pipe to my Arrow slipon, a k&n high flow filter and an ECU tune in a few weeks. Although there's less restrictions in the EU it's still annoying on decel and the throttle is way too notchy, AFR needs changes etc.

    Bike looks really really good. Now seeing the smoke TST tail light on it kinda makes me wish I would’ve went that route instead of the NRC kit. The carbon fiber heel guards are a nice feature as well. Are the the twill gloss ones? I was just talking to my son about the anodized black bolt kit. Now seeing the black its set my mind on the black. He mentioned maybe red to flow with the little red stripes on the krt edition but I’m glad I seen the black because it just really looks great. Overall very nice touches done to it. Keep up the awesome content.

    • @StormtrooperRides
      @StormtrooperRides  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks! appreciate the feedback. Yes those are the twill gloss heal guards. I dont totally disagree with your son but the problem with red anodizing is that the red will never match the red color in the bike. They always have kind of a metallic look to them and often they end up looking pink. I do think it would look good if you could match the red in the bike but I've never seen red bolts that color. I mentioned it in the video but its worth mentioning again, these bolt kits are made of very cheap metal so you must be very careful with them. They are also not strong so in my case I was very gentle with them putting them in and so far so good. It'd be super easy to strip or twist the top right off one of these screws if you put too much torque to them. Hope that answers your questions and again thanks for the feedback and your comments/questions!

    It's all about making it yours. Everything looks good! I really like Bren. Nice way to go. Can't wait to see what else you do with it. I was wondering, when you first got the bike you were a little unhappy with the riding position. I think back then you preferred the ZX6r setup. What have you done if anything on that or was it something you just had to get used to? Again, it's nice to see you back!

      William, I always look forward to your insight. You have my deepest respect and I truly hope to meet u face to face one day. At the end of the day, I had to learn to ride this bike all over like a noob. Turns out, most of the problem was that I was trying to ride it like the 636 or even my n1k. You simply cannot ride this bike outside of 40mph in anything but 2nd or3rd. On those other bikes you could roll along at 30mph in 5-6th gear. Zx10r is all together different and I now rarely get out of 2nd or 3rd….unless I’m at hiway speeds. Mostly I was the issue and I’ve corrected it now. The ecu flash took care of the rest.bike is great and scary to ride now.

    Glad to hear about the Bren tune working out for you, I've been very hesitant to do a mail in flash with Moore.. but have heard great things about the Bren option. Seems that their stage 2 is one of the few out there that fixes the quick shifter, even woolich has issues with their flash and making it worse actually

      @@youngdeath4741 Any major issues with Moore? I've read so many bad stories lately about people having issues with his mail in flashes lately, which I hate because the guy is pretty well known and supposed to be reliable.

    • @StormtrooperRides
      @StormtrooperRides  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The only thing I’ve heard so far is that woolich doesn’t have a good answer yet for the QS. Other than that Moore and others have been getting good reviews. I would also mention that often I’m hearing about codes coming up after reinstalling but those go away after riding. It’s my understanding that this is because it’s being powered up outside the bike during the flash process. Brentune’s main advantage being the ability to flash back to stock and to have multiple flashes that you can apply. This was very compelling to me. For the most part though all tuners are getting these bikes to 192-195hp which is just fine with me. If you’re a track racer that final number may or may not be more important to you but to me anything over 190 and you’re now getting to the bikes true potential.

    • @MasKeDGraphicx
      @MasKeDGraphicx 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@StormtrooperRides I agree that being able to go back to the standard ECU is a big plus with Bren. But I think once you flash it then you void the warranty regardless of being able to put it back or not? I don't really think the warranty is a big deal though if you're going to mod a bike anyway. Great vids!

    What about a centerstand? How stable is the factory sidestand? Do you trust that sidestand?
    My 1995 ZX-11D had both, which was good for that heavier motorcycle when parked on all kinds of random surfaces at various destinations.

    Bike Mods are Spot on! I hear that Moore Mafia will tune a cpu for 409$. Did you consider that option?

    • @StormtrooperRides
      @StormtrooperRides  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I did consider Moore for sure however I lost patience that a Woolich tune was coming so I went with the Brentune. At the end of the day I'm glad I did because going forward I have the flexibility to go back to stock if I need to (ie if I need to take it to the dealership for engine work or something) and its very simple to load a new map if BT Moto updates the flash or they come out with something new. It is WAY more expensive to go this route however and if I had just bought the bike now, I'd probably just go with Moore or 2WheelDynoworks.

  • @dakotawilliams805

    So did you order the flasher and eliminates the need to mail in ecu or taking the bike in and getting it tuned? I ask because I’m about to take my bike next weekend and get it tuned the tuner I have been talking to said it mail in ecu was temperamental.

    • @StormtrooperRides
      @StormtrooperRides  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I ordered flasher and did the tune at home. It’s my understanding that the mail in ECU services can cause a code but should be cleared after riding a bit. The main reason I did it this way was so I could easily put it back to stock if I want to.
