- Welcome to this Llyn Peninsula, North Wales vlog.
Today, we're embarking on a new adventure to explore an area of North Wales that we surprisingly don't know too well - the Llyn Peninsula! Known as the 'arm' of Wales, this 30-mile stretch on the north coast is home to some of the most stunning beaches and coastal views you'll ever lay eyes on.
Our first stop is the breath taking beach in Nefyn. The crystal clear waters and soft golden sand make it an absolute paradise. We then ventured into the charming town of Nefyn, which although pretty, didn't offer a lot of excitement.
Next up, we hit up Porthor, also known as Whispering Sands. Wow, what a hidden gem! This gorgeous beach was a new discovery for us and we were blown away by its natural beauty.
We just had to share this part of Wales with you all, it's truly spectacular. And, of course, we couldn't finish off our adventure without a well-deserved pint and a quick summary of our epic day.

Postcard & A Pint was thought up by my partner, Rachel & myself, Wills one day while taking our daily 1 hour exercise during the lockdown of 2020. All of a sudden, we were spending more time together, not working 6 or 7 days a week in the arts industry, and binge watching travel programs, and we were actually really enjoying it, and it made us re-evaluate what was important in life for us. Now back to working 6 or 7 days a week again, with very little time off, our happy time is getting out there on our brief times off together and making short travel videos that we are now sharing with you. Haha, "even the sheep were queueing to get in!" That's a good sign. The beach area was so quaint, picturesque, and as you said, tranquil. The front porch of the church was beautiful and loved the large old houses. Ooh dear, shame everything was closed! The views at the end of the video were gorgeous. Would also love to see this place in the summer. Ew, a poo in the lay-by?? Litter? Have a lovely week ahead! 🤗💕
Thanks so much. We can’t believe we haven’t explored Thai area before. It’s so beautiful!! We went back yesterday and you’ll never believe the sheep were in line once again - as for the poo, watch next week for an update!! 🤣. We loved both beaches - I guess with the out of season you get the quiet but everything closed and in the summer it’s all open but ram jam full!!! We will explore this area again though in the summer. Cheers 🍻

I had never heard of Whistling Sands before - I guess there's a few sandy areas around the world that make sound when the conditions are right. Loved the tour or Nefyn and the drone fly away shot was pretty amazing.
We wish we’d have heard the whistling, but I think it’s a dry sand phenomenon! The tide has just gone out so the beach was pretty wet. Wills is getting better with the drone now. Thanks so much for watching 🍻

Come back in the summer when the beach Cafe and the museum are open. There's more to Nefyn than you think. A walk up the hillside gives some spectacular views over both bays.
Do you know what, we loved the area so much we came back last weekend!! We’d love to do some walks in the hills - I think we prefer the beach empty to be honest, but what a lovely place! This weekend we went to Ty Coch on Porth Dinllaen and really enjoyed the walk through the golf course and along the beach. We absolutely loved that bay as well. If you live there Margaret, you’re very lucky! What a beautiful place. Cheers for watching 🍻

I’m sure it’s packed it summer, we did enjoy the tranquility of it though. Whistling sands was beautiful. We enjoyed the area so much we went back at the weekend to see more!! Happy Friday guys🥳. This ended up being a Thursday night watch for us after a very hectic week, as of course P and Ps videos must always be watched on the telly 📺😊👊. Wow those beaches are absolutely stunning 😍. Felt so isolated and the views were gorgeous, and more dogs than people, that is always a good thing!🥰🐶👍. We would be really interested to see what they are like in summer☀️. Ah we had to giggle when soft lad started banging about fixing his boat the second you started talking about how peaceful it was Rach, typical!🤣. Wills the drone shots are superb! A big THANK YOU for the What Three Words. I go on holiday to Porthmadog 2 or 3 times a year for short breaks, so I don’t think this is too far away for a quick visit.

I wouldn't mind staying in one of those cottages on the beach (in summer, I don't do cold weather beaches!) Everything being closed in Nefyn is basically any inland Australian country town on a Saturday! The locals are all at sport, either playing or watching it, even the town's main street pubs are empty!
We'd love to stay in one of those cottages too, they're lovely aren't they. We'd prefer the Summer too, but even in February, they were beautiful. Apparently Nefyn gets really busy in the Summer months. We'll have to visit it again in the Summer, but have to admit, we prefer it with less people around haha. Cheers for watching

Glad to see you guys are feeling better! You paddled further then we would have made it lol. It looks like a quaint beach community, just needs some little café.. or a tiki bar 😁😁. We know the struggle all to well LoL every time you turn on a camera it's a universal signal for someone to start making noise. Christmas is everywhere, you just have to look hard enough!

Exceptional guys, what a lovely stretch of coastline that is, feels lost in time, you really got over its virtues. Some great spots of free parking although I imagine in summer you’d have to get there early! Wills drone skills are coming along nicely and add a great additional layer to your already smashing content. Now the tulips? You really missed an opportunity here to tiptoe through them whilst singing. We’ve been on the lookout for some for a while now! Love Shane Nixon, he has great content and is just awesome to chat to. Not too far from our home here guys 😃🏴🏴 it's so beautiful. We've spent hours and years on this beach at Nefn and camping with our kids here and you're right it's closed at this time of year and packed in the sumner! David Cameron loved the beach there and was spotted with Samantha near where you flew the drone :) Whistling Sands is so beautiful too and you got such lovely footage, shame you missed the seals. @@PostcardAndAPint It's so beautiful but the summer especially school holidays all over the Llyn gets packed and Easter school holidays too but not as bad ! We avoid driving as much as we can in the school holidays and walk or cycle and I try to do any filming out of school holidays 😃 But it's the same on Anglesey and in Snowdonia too. All of the beaches are lovely but our very favourite beaches on the Llyn are Abersoch , Borth Y Gest, Aberdaron, Llanbedrog and Porthmadog and if you park at Black Rock Sands beach in Porthmadog you can take a lovely cliff walk to Borth y Gest . You would get lovely footage with your drone there, but watch out for sinking sand parts at Borth y Gest beach .You might have seen our video there where my feet sunk in ! Also some of our old videos at these places if you wanted an idea of them 🙂 🏴🏴

You know what those graves mausoleum thingys next to the picnic tables in the church yard reminded me of? BBQs. New business plan - memorial graves and bbqs. Come and have a snag sanger over grandpa's grave. Fry up some lambs fry and onions over aunty Mabel. Speaking of sangers. I nearly choked on my vegemite sarnie when you mentioned that. Thank you! Mr I'm A Professional Sound Recordist, where's the whistling beach recording hey? We have particularly squeaky sand here in Oz. In fact near us, well, 3 hours away, is Squeaky Beach and it is particularly squeaky. I think I made a video there * checks notes * Ah yes, one of the 15 or so yet to be edited videos I have in the pipe because I am a slackarse.
There might be nuffink in Nefyn but it was lovely.
Funny a lay-by in Oz is "a system of paying a deposit to secure an article for later purchase". You go to the shops and put something you can't afford on lay-by and when you finish paying for it they hand it over. Seems like over there you leave a deposit in a lay-by. Anyway, have I ever found a poo in a lay-by? Fair dinkum, do bears sh*t in the woods. Actually if it isn't bears it is definitely people. Dirty buggers. It sh*ts me to tears. I did make a video mentioning that very thing. A car park next to a beautiful waterfall near us, yeah, also 3 hours away, was littered with poo. In the bush surrounding the car park anyway. Close enough that if you were doing your business in the bush you could see everybody coming and going. There was sh*t stained clothes and everything. It was like they've gone, oh crap, somehow I've managed to sh*t on my jumper, I'll just have to leave it here. Why was I trying to find my way through piles of shit? Shuddup and throw me the bog roll. (editors note: Shane's last comment was for made comedic effect - at no point did he even consider pooping in a car park)

Excellent drone work again Wills. I'm slowly coming to terms with my drone envy - I'm fairly sure I'd stack it into a pile of poo if I had one.

Snags are sausages.😂 We have a couple of sausage traditions here. No. 1 are Bunnings Sausages. Every weekend local organisations (scouts, schools, rotary etc) have a sausage in a tent outside of Bunnings, the big hardware warehouse chain, and sell snag sangers for a couple of bucks. No. 2 tradition is democracy sausages. The same set up as Bunnings but it is at the local primary school on election day - which is usually a Saturday. So when we vote we go have a democracy sausage. 😂

I'm so glad I found your channel. My husband has accepted a job in North Wales so we will be moving there in the next few months, if we can get all the paperwork figured out ugh! We are from the US currently living in California. I am so looking forward to this move!!

@@PostcardAndAPint Thanks for responding and for the welcome. My husband will be working in Bodelwyddan and would like no more than a 45 minute commute, but haven't settled on any place yet. Do you have any recommendations? We have been looking at rentals all over the place but we have 3 cats and it seems there aren't very many places that accept pets. That, and the weather situation are my biggest worries. We just had rain 2 days in a row and thought we were going to lose our minds! 😂😂😂
