I frequently have spells of depression, and often they include feelings that I am a lousy person who doesn't deserve good things. One time, when my self-esteem was at an all-time low, I listened to this song, and it was very comforting and uplifting. I knew that someone did understand, and that I wasn't worthless after all.
Alanis really brings in the divine energy so powerfully- I feel it too. So soothing and a great reminder to let go, be still and allow life to unfold!

My go to song when I don't feel good about myself. Feeling down and yet trying hard to be would good in every way. This song is a reminder to be good no matter how life folded you a thousand times.
It's a similar thing for me -- reminding me that some people do understand and care, and that I am OK and worth something, even with my shortcomings and flaws. It's a great comfort.
