*EDIT*(Year change) Anyone still loving Alanis in 2024??🙋🏻♀️
❤️WE LOVE YOU ALANIS❤️
Lokendra Shakya 🙌🏻🥰
yes 🇧🇷
Tamiris Vieira 👏🏻❤️❤️
Yeahhhh! 🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷
Listen to her everyday!!!
Anyone watching this in June 2024?
YES, SWEETIE!!! MOST DEFINITELY, YES! GOD BLESS YOU AND YOUR FAMILY 😊🕊🙏🎉😇🥰
Yes! GOD BLESS 🎉AND YOURS😇🎉🕊💯💯
🙋🏻♀️
I certainly am ❤
I'm sorry but as far as I'm concerned she only has one good song. The first one she put out. I don't remember the name of it. After she put out ironic I was turned off. Cuz absolutely nothing in that song is ironic!!!! Maybe unfortunate. But NOT IRONIC!!!!
This woman saved my 17 year old self. Whew. I’m now 43. I Love her.
She has strange talents of saving others while neglecting her ownself
My 41 is right around the corner, and i agree.
As do i!!!!
So needed this now
She saved me at 15 and I'm 44 now.
Someone commented below about her "T-rex" arms. I LOVE THAT about her. Many artistic people/singers get in this "zone" and do "odd" ticks like this. I LOVE THAT. They are so lost in the art that they don't care or even realize what they are doing. Awesome.
She was definitely in a trance
Yesssss Eddie Vedder gets the trex arms
Joe Cocker at the original Woodstock. King of arm movement...
cerebral palsy, not T-Rex arms, geezus!
Joe cocker. Nuff said.
Her voice is mind blowing! People do not understand how talented she is
I’m with you.
You´re so right👍👍👍
Considering I've never heard a cover that can even come within the same sport... let alone league... of this song is testament to that.
Here's a trivia question most Alanis fans might not know: How many songs did she guest on Before These Crowded Streets? Bonus points if you know when she guested live with DMB?
@@bostonkeith1I think 3 off the top of my head? Spoon, Don’t Drink The Water, and Halloween.
Her ability to produce near recording perfect live performances is unmatched...
Her and Celine Dion. I’ve seen both live and am a huge fan of both.
that production is not on her. its on the stage manager that works with the session musicians
She has perfect pitch, and has recorded songs in one take.
Lies again? Squirt Squirm
Laughs in 1973 Genesis
Best female vocalist of the 90’s. My goodness her voice.
Mariah carey
She is great, but there were several "best" female vocals...Tori Amos, Bjork, Pj Harvey, etc.
She and Dolores O Riordan… top
@@xavieraguirre2190 This. Dolores O'Riordan could send shivers up my spine.
@@FB-sm3xxew no, she's all show and no soul
Hard to believe my 15 yr old self is in that crowd... jamming out🥰

@@kennethgriffin7921 I get what you're saying though.
I love that this was my generations contribution...almost 30 years later and it is still valid. Real, unquestionable talent. No autotune. No filters. Just real and undeniable sincerity.
As the crowd gets sprayed with water and is nearing the boiling point of limp bizkit
❤
Amen Rebecca!
Just saw her live, and she sounds exactly the same. 💯 % talent.
One of the trippiest songs recorded by Alanis Morissette and my favourite.
With such a raw & sad story behind it
So like Kashmir, it’s crazy. CLASSIC!!
2023 and I'm still listening to this. True talent.
This song has such a haunting sound to it . And it’s amazing she has a great voice
Soo powerful
It's perfect! ❤
No matter how many years have passed, this song and that f#cking perfect voice still give me goosebumps!!!
Her voice is amazing.
@@nicholemiles8847 not amazing enough to produce a vast amount of records. Just a handful of 90s slag girl hits... But ya... I like the song too. Just figured I'd bring you back down to earth with the rest of us.

Just amazing girl and amazing voice !!!

I adore her!! she's a angelic goddess!🎶🎶💞💞💕💕💖💕💞🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶💞💞
Great OZZY impersonation at 2:00 :-)
No autotune no edits just talent! Best femal vocalist ever
Yup. Some things cannot replace DNA. She is a raw talent with unbelievable gifts and always made music on HER terms.
This woman saved me at 9 years old… I used to go to the local library and print out her lyrics from the computer so I could learn her lyrics and play her jagged little pills album over and over as I’m deaf and was the only way to learn… at 12 years old my oldest brother heard over the radio that she was giving a live concert in Auckland square (in New Zealand), picked me up early from school mid morning I thought a family member died, only to surprise me to my first ever concert!! I’ll never forget!! I was on his shoulders watching her on stage memorised by her long hair hanging down as she’s so emotionally involved in her own song, here I am as a 35 year old woman I feel I am Alanis, I understand her through and through ♥️ thank you xx @alanismorissette I really hope she reads this message
What a sweet story! ❤ I used to print lyrics as well. I’m so happy you had that experience and that your brother recognized and honored your love of her music!
Shes probably the greatest solo alternative rock artist to come out of the 90s
Who are you kidding ? Fiona Apple, Liz Phair, Tori Amos to name a few, rings a bell ?
@@christoohunders5316 she's better than all of those.
Beck, but then probably her.
@@shawnhalvorson4000 Beck sure, we were thinking female artists I guess, if we include guys, the list changes dramatically including Jeff Buckley !
Christoo Hunders Alanis payed the wave for those artist to be put on radio. They would answer “we already have Sinead O’Connor already being played on the radio.” You oughta Know Blew Out of the Water with radio request listeners. The rest is history....
She’s so awesomely weird. She has a voice that will haunt your soul. I absolutely love this song and the way it sends chills down my spine every time I hear her incredible and iconic voice
Ironic voice...lol
yes! still does!!
It just gave me a chill. Amazing.
i only remember her from watching you cant do that on tv
Because she is not weird at all. She is just Natural! Honest! She doesn't give a f*** about looking perfect and "match standards". She just releases her soul through her mouth, as honestly as possible.
She remerbers me Joe Cocker
As big as Alanis was in the '90s, she's still so underrated. What a song and what a performance.
honestly a shame only cause more need to hear..could give a f about whatever and whomever constitutes it
Love Alanis She’s getting even prettier
She's so beautiful in so many ways one of the best ever
LOL
How is she underrated?
I think you're confusing being underrated with someone not coming out with new music. The woman has been nominated for a Grammy 14 times and has won 7. She's not underrated, she's just focusing on other things.
She truly used her voice as an instrument. Her lyrics-chosen for so many reasons.
this is June 2020 and there is literally nothing close to this talent....even coming up the streams
No doubt! And to think, with the level of music and artists from the 90's, she was pretty much considered a good artist. Now she would be looked at as other worldly.
@@kristiannelson1851 you mentioned "otherwordly" and Aurora almost sounds like her in this. Obviously not the same range, but I think it's there
Nah, you just have to look for your weird and talented stuff today, it's not the same. Now Billie Eilish is the mainstream weird girl, but there are plenty of artists who do bigger, aggressive sounds like Alanis and PJ did in the 90s.
I've yet to hear someone singing live who sounds as good as, if not better, than the recorded version. I knew she was good, but had no idea she was this good.
Agreed!!! A legend!
Beautiful voice..holds her arms like a T-Rex, but I still love her.
TheMadmax0609 holds her arms like a T. rex? Ha ha. How random. Funny though. Can’t not see a T. rex dancing now
love this song and she is awesome.... but she looks possessed here! Truly haunting and uncomfortable to watch her stumble around like that!
More like a t-Rex with turrets
@TheMadmax0609 lol my thoughts exactly, but shes still a badass!
It's beautiful! She's so zoned into the song!
2024 and she’s still giving me goosebumps!! This version is haunting ❤
to me one of the most underatted singers vocalists of our time
I remember when jagged little pill came out. I was blown away. Every song on the CD was dope. I was 19 and we'd get some beer and blast it,sit on the porch and chill or sit in complete darkness only the light of ciggs the bitter smell of beer my gf looked just like her. Cherish your younger years they're gone in the blink of an eye.
ain't that truth
Imagine "Jagged Little Pill" come out today? ahhhhh hahahhahaha. Yeah, the they don't do this anymore!
Be THANKFUL, Brother... interesting & even cool memories perhaps, but music from Hell! When it comes back to haunt you, turn it away with, for example, anything by CSN or CSNY!! There is indeed a world of difference between peace & torment, Light & darkness, Love & hate, faith & fear!! Pray you get off the fence, away from the grey, & into the White!!! ~~Same for all the lost souls who’ve been seduced by the spirit that this pathetic creature allows to inspire her!!

Proud Canadian here. She is simply the best live singer alive.
You should be proud ❤
Like anyone would be
I am flattered by your fascination with me
Like any hot-blooded woman
I have simply wanted an object to crave
But you, you're not allowed
You're uninvited

Must be strangely exciting
To watch the stoic squirm
Must be somewhat heartening
To watch shepherd need shepherd
But you, you're not allowed
You're uninvited
An unfortunate slight
Like any uncharted territory
I must seem greatly intriguing
You speak of my love like
You have experienced love like mine before
But this is not allowed
You're uninvited
An unfortunate slight
I don't think you unworthy
I need a moment to deliberate
Her best and most haunting song
circa now, Shame its not her song though. She also sings it in a lower key than the original but yes still an amazing song. As much as I love AM, this is not as good as the original in my opinion.
Stuart Mead Who sang it originally? It's not listed on the Wikipedia page that it's someone else's song, but that a bunch of others had covered it.
Jim Partridge well I may be wrong but I thought it was the Freemasons. I actually much prefer that version.
When you make an assumption you make an ass out of u and mption.

how lucky we were to experience 90s music and a bit before while we were growing up.
This is absolutely unreal. Holy crap! The memories. This screams from the depths of the 90s. I'm getting Silverchair and Cranberries vibes. Just wow. Phenominal.
Yes to Silverchair and the Cranberries. Lord take me back!
I was there and had never heard this particular song from her til she sang it and I can still remember it just putting me in a trance. I still get goosebumps every time I hear it. The whole festival was the greatest music experience of my life! 🤘✌

THIS LYRICAL DEPTH SHOULD GO DOWN AS ONE OF THE GREATEST IN HISTORY.
Going a lil too far are we?
Her writing is actually very blunt. And "jagged". I'm not saying she isn't deep. I'm saying she leaves little to ambiguity,
I agree, Id love to know what Freddie Mercury thought of her vocals.
No twerking no auto tune. Just authentic music
Comparing apples and oranges. They are both good.
Yeah autotune destroy music
I think she needs to twerk she dances like a Jerry Anderson puppet.
This song is Underrated. So haunting and dark. Love it. One of her best imo.
Agreed
Alanis Morissette looks possessed by the music. I mean that in a good way. The best performances seem to be so genuine, they ARE the music.
She truly does share herself in her songs. What you see and hear is real and from her heart and soul. this song is really exceptionally dramatic and moving. And this is a wonderful performance. I love the way she belts it out with her expressive voice.
Honest question, was she high? Whether she was or not, she was amazing here. But 2:24 lol.....
@@AxelAlexK it was Woodstock bro. Everyone is high
She is AMAZING!! Not many of today's artists would sound just as good live as they do recorded in a studio
Like so many have commented before, I love that she does not edit herself on the stage in terms of moving with the music in her own authentic way. It seems to help her connect so profoundly with the lyrics and music that it yields penetrating, masterful performances like this one. This song somehow manages to be simultaneously unsettling and soothing to me at the same time. It speaks to the talent of her writing and her voice that she can deliver music that defies a simple emotional description.
The greatest female singer of all time in my opinion. What you see is what you get. Fantastic !!!
In my opinion...best frickin song she ever put out, totally underated. b.t.w. guitar on this track...SICK
It was from a soundtrack so it didn't go far really. But definitely her best

gotta love Nick Carter taking a break from Backstreet Boys to play a little bass
Goddammit, you beat me to it. ;p

Love her weirdness and quirkyness ways but most of all her extraordinary voice and lyrics. The thought process in her mind while composing her music was deep and intensely expressed for her audience (her fans). I am one and love her and her music ❤
This was 25 years ago. jeezz, how time flies and i'm 47 now.
This was her encore tonight (8/26/2021) and it went hard af. She still has all her vocal power. Absolute icon.
I am seeing her in July next year and I'm hoping she sings this!
"Uninvited" was Alanis Morissette's "Kashmir".
That's friggin deep. It works for me.
True and it got huge attention because it was on the City of Angels soundtrack too.
Yes you are right jejeje
Can you explain this? I know both songs but I am not familiar with their history.
@@leathelesbo865 she was really into the India inspired sounds for a while. She travelled there. It has a mystical feeling to it like Kashmir does. Feel how heavy the instruments are.
The most raw and sincere performance I've ever seen.
I still love you even after all theese years ❤

Xachary Jarboe Kirsh wow great line
DUUUUUUUUUUUUUDE SO GOOD. ABSOLUTE PIERCING AND JUST PERPLEXING LYRICS.
Her children are going to see these videos and be proud of their mother! This is about the best song ever written!
That's a hard song to sing in the studio, so doing it live is even more difficult, Alanis nailed it live 🥰🥰🥰
For real, I’m a singer and can confirm the chords/keys in this song are incredibly difficult to master. But it’s that dissonance that makes it so haunting
There's a lady who doesn't need a music studio Thanks sweetheart
The orange and yellow colors the bright evening sun on her skin the look in her eyes, the spectacular scale of the stage and backdrop make for a strange epic ambiance.

Alanis was just on American Idol. Performed and sounded awesome! Her voice is always on! ICON.
I saw her in concert in Nashville, TN June 23, 2024. Let me tell you, she had me and by bestie
absolutely transfixed. Although we’re knocking on 40, we both felt our inner 12 year old selves just as equally, living out a moment we’d only dared dream of for 27 years! Alanis’s performance was a pure joy, a natural high that had us clinging to each other at some times, and crying at others. Alanis, you and the messages your music brings, are a balm to this world. Somewhere thousands of the current generation are calling Miley Cyrus “iconic” for every tone deaf sad cover of someone else’s music. We were so blessed with this the last generation of great musicians
Miley sings like she has a salmon stuffed up her nose, and thinks all her songs are going to be considered Legendary Music Scores, in the far future.

So glad she was safe that day, the whole band; Amazing!!!
Not comparable. If another person sang some of Alanis' songs, it would just sound like a pretty good folk-rock-song. Sung by Alanis, her songs are awesome, absolute madness, like from another planet. She gives the words with her virtuosity, with her soul, her intensity, emotion and her femininity such a relevance to life; that's just about the limit.
I'm glad to see her in a few weeks in Hamburg.
