@ibanezbloke .. thats a Sugi SH486, designed by Nick Sugimoto, who not only designed the Jem, but also the George Benson and the Pat Methany models for Ibanez.
Thanks for the vid! I've been waiting like 5 years for some of this footage! Is there any chance of posting any full songs? I'd really like to see the whole Bad Asteroid video and Hangover too, I don't think there's any footage of him playing that one live
The song you hear @ 4:50 is called Hangover. It's from Guthrie's cd called Erotic Cakes. Check out the cd because it's unbelievably awesome!!!!! Btw, he definitely played the song differently live versus the studio version. But, every time he does that, it still blows your mind. Sorry to repeat the answer below, I just feel the need to spread the word about Guthrie Govan.
OMG amazing, it's like he tries to bring back what he did about 10 years ago at the same show, butting adding more incredible things to it :O I'd like the full show, I'll definately pay if I have to. I paid for his other dvds
Haha, everywhere you go people say Guthrie's the man. And that's so freakin' true! And not just Guthrie, but the whole band!! Without Pete and he's brother it had not been that fun! : )
as always guthrie is brilliant. Is that zak in the audience at 7:14. he didn't play this gig? and sadly enough, there's not enough of zak solos in the internet/ on youtube. somehow, the videos always cut before his moments. As much as I'm desperately waiting for guthrie's second album, I'm looking forward to see more of the fellowship, and like all of them playing full songs not just guthrie and his solos.
Listen to the tapping on other live versions of Fives for example, not at all clean like this. Still awesome though, but yeah, a bit sloppy as of late ^^
Is there any way of buying this footage or just plain downloading? I just can find the other Live At Tone Merchants (that has just one camera). Thanks!
Guthrie wasn’t happy with his performance so he scrapped the dvd release. I shot one of the cameras and helped with recording and mixing the multitrack recording and editing the video.
~5:00 this gives me awful flashbacks to the only time I saw Alan Holdswoth. The three hours I stood and watched that shit were like some kind of Chinese water-torture. I've never clicked on an AH vid and I don't are what I'm missing - that concert was the worst i've ever seen.
5:14 I have seen every Guthrie video on the planet and I’ve never seen him play “hangover” live. Excellent.
Guthrie has to be the best guitarist in the world
bblv no question.
It's done
I think so
thanks a lot, i guess i just fell in love with the sound of the slide in there, it sounds so realistically vocal.

What a MONSTER PLAYER ! ! ! ! ! !
Sublime!!!!
I miss Marco and Brian here...no offense but the way they shake things around is awesome 😎
Awesome hybrid picking!
Nunca toca uncle skunk
@Hevox: Are you having a laugh mate? I just saw Guthrie live a week or so ago and he still kicks as much ass now, if not more.
it's a Suhr, most likely a Govan custom guitar. There's videos on utube of guthrie demonstration many Suhr guitars.
That version of hangover is... perfect. Anyone got the full thing?
Check out Guthrie Govan's new band: The Aristocrats
@MrPurpleguitar thought you wrote ' guitarist ' there for a second.
WTF???How come guys like this aren't on the cover of Guitar Player or Guitar world? What a frickin' monster!
@UncleRob199 uh disregard what i said, I thought it said 2010 for some reason :O

@eyronpagya it was an Ebow
@eyronpagya its called an eBow
Is it just me, or does the beginning of Hangover at 4:50 sound just like the beginning of a Vince Guaraldi song?
WTF???How come guys like this aren't on the cover of Guitar Player or Guitar world? What a frickin' monster! And guys like Chris Poland???
Wow! Thanks for uploading and sharing this!
What's the name of the song that starts @1:05?
Kenneth Bolanio Sevens

Listen to the tapping on other live versions of Fives for example, not at all clean like this. Still awesome though, but yeah, a bit sloppy as of late ^^

where the fuck is the rest of this performance????
whats the name of the song at 5:44?
turnbacktime Ner Ner 🤘🏼
what?
It has nothing to do with "shitty bands"
Sometimes he has good gigs and sometimes not so good, just like anyone else
Guthrie have a girlfriend??
I have and I agree. But look at his playing in Korea for example. Might have been influenced by the shitty band though ^^
Man he used to be so good! He's become kinda sloppy live
Can't even hear the bass! Why even have other instruments on stage at all?
i think shitty band makes him sloppy, look how he play live with aristocrats, flawless
