Complete waste of an hour of time. Madhu, clearly you had a conflict of interest which you could have avoided with your brother being interviewed by you. You were not even five percent as critical with Aroon Purie as you were with Karan Thappar's interview and that's what makes this so disgusting to watch. Your question at the 23:03 minute to which Mr. Purie denied having to fire any editor due to government pressure should have been on why PP Bajpayee had to leave Aaj Tak after his interview with Ramdev. India Today is complete Sanghi channel for many years. You not inquiring about Cobra Post sting does not surprize me one bit. I now believe that you had tutored even the audience not to ask any question about Cobra Post to both the interviewees. Long story short, how was this interview different from that of Sudhir Chaudhary, Navika Kumar and Rahul Shivshankar interviewing Narendra Modi.
i liked newslaundry when it started but they lost track so quickly. madhu and aroon could sit home and talk , whats the point wasting other people s time when u know u cannt be open , honest or direct .

I really don't understand why does Madhu Trehan have so much antipathy against Rajiv Gandhi! In most of her talk shows, she portrays her condescending attitude about Rajiv Gandhi. Very disappointing!

New York Times is 3$/copy, but prices for print newspapers have been increasing in the US. Today, I don't know anyone willing to spend 45$ per month on print subscription. It's mostly businesses, hotels, wall street guys etc. OR old school people too lazy to cancel their old subs.

Arun you did the right thing by publishing the photographs. Everyone remember the cover even now and it gave the country a perspective. Just hope kargil too had just few such photographs so people could have had any idea how bad it was.

@Madhu I feel Aroon was not speaking free n frankly and he was a bit restrictive to his views n comments. Though I believe Indian Express has done fabulous work and is more freely expressing and carrying everybody's part. One more thing everyone says journalism should be criticise of govt. But Aroon seems to the opposite of that. Why so?

Puries (Aroon and Madhu) are clever; they have TV platforms which cater to both Left and Right wing points of view, while IndiaToday (the magazine) is centrist. Also means that they are into media for making money rather than publishing an unbiased story. The Express Group (Goenka) believe in presenting an unbiased view (does not matter whether it is Left, Right or Centre), and money comes later.

Just a question to Arun -- Did his media house give any other PM such a long rope that has been given to PM Modi? I think that Modi's would be the first government whose honeymoon the big Indian media houses never intended to end, or suddenly they lost the guts to stand up to the Modi govt for its wrongdoings as they used to do particularly with the Congress governments in the past.
Its widely known, outlook is pro congress and India Today is pro BJP. Simple left and right ideology in journalism.
