In them 3 months buffering before Steve invited him on the podcast I bet he was privately rehearsing what he could say to make him not seem like an emotional F robot, but that's exactly what he is. When it comes to empathy you can't learn it, that's evident with Matt Hancock.
At one point on the podcast he said "let's start this bit again, I don't like how you did it" as if he hadn't already agreed to have a raw, unedited conversation. Steven handled him really well and if anything my respect for Steven grew. Can't say my opinion of Hancock has changed.
it was a missed opportunity IMO - there are so many truths that have come out following the end of the pandemic - truths that were in fact, always known to many of us who had been cancelled e.g. the No of covid deaths. Hancock was let off the hook during the interview
Mad I saw you on true geordie like 4 or 5 years ago and now your a dragon and your podcast has picked up and most impressive of all you made it onto happy hour
7:17 Such a shame no one list Ricky Gervais, Stephen Merchant and Karl Pilkington when they mention the people who pioneered podcasts. They did it years before everyone else and they're by far the funniest
Having seen Steven on the likes Dragon's Den and Question Time, I have to say he does a great job of representing the thoughts and opinions of the younger demographic, rather than the typical older perspectives depicted in the media today. I hope more successful younger people like Steven are able to continue to break new boundaries in society.
Only jack can title a video ‘what Matt Hancock is really like’ only for the clip to be ‘I don’t want to share my opinion because I had him on my podcast’ love the clickbait guys 😂 great pod by the way Steven was a terrific guest looking forward to the jaack episode on his pod
I personally find Steve a very poor interviewer and I am confused how he has such a platform. I felt very disappointed by the Hancock interview, it had a lot of potential
Hancock really is a man of the people Top bloke , really is an honest man , coming from humble beginnings, would give away his last pound. God bless Matt Hancock
I genuinely find it quite absurd the amount that Matt Hancock's meltdown was forced into our every day lives... through policy, through the media. Ugh, that dude was and always has been a slug
Steve Bartlett is interesting, I like how he has such a broad range of guests on his pod, from the likes of Anna Hemmings and Rio Ferdinand to the likes of Matt Hancock and that pseudo-intellectual guy Peterson lol. I also like how he challenges the other dragons on Dragons' Den. Happy Hour is still my favourite but Diary of a CEO is decent too
@@RD-jr8nv Lool right if he’s a ‘pseudo-intellectual’ then what the hell is everyone else😂😂the guy consistently backs up all his opinions, if we had 10 more like him the world would be a better place 👍

@@_kentoe On this channel? Just looked for them and the last full episode I can see is from about a year ago, presumably the last one before their Spotify deal. I thought they'd have the video on Spotify like other podcasts have.

I don’t think he attacks people at all. He views business in a much more social media focused way than all the other dragons imo, probably due to age. He brings up pretty unique aspects to businesses that are pitched that you wouldn’t hear from the dragons. Plus there’s no harm in being brutally honest in the investing world otherwise you’re only gunna hurt yourself financially.
@@liamr194 wrong. Couldn't care less about him being successful or self-made. Good for him. I just find him to be a bit full of himself, plus didn't like him defending Molly-mae for the stupid comments she made whilst on his podcast.

Still think most of the Tories are selfish and lack empathy for anyone different to them, him included lol

I think he was also more talking about people who interview prominent figures rather than podcasting
You’ve done him again Smithy…play a record.

Have to say I was skeptical when Hancock was on as I don't believe he's worth redeeming, seems like that's not likely.
The only question to ask matt hancock is why all the midazolam 🤔
Please try and get Jeremy Corbyn in :)
That’ll never happen, Corbyn doesn’t believe in free speech which most podcasts right now are under fire for.

Liverpool beat West Ham
