Your car sounds like mine. My 1931 Deluxe Coupe had mechanical problems but the mechanic's health did not allow him to repair it. So it sat for 30 years and then we began complete restoration. So now we are still restoring it but all is going well.
One problem with long term parking on 3:17 these old vehicles, or most vehicles for that matter, is gasoline varnish inside the fuel tank. It's difficult to get the varnish out, especially on these cowl tanks.
Sweet, Gandalf's first run out in the wild open roads. Sounds like it did great and we got to see some awesome scenery. Good luck with the cosmetic fixes and with the tour. I hope your week goes great, God Bless you both.

JOE!!!!! So glad to see you are online again! I sent the Sig Stat back and it got returned "undeliverable". So it is still in my shop. Please email me!
Great video. Happy to hear that Gandalf has become a reliable old man again. I bought my first Model A Ford, 1930 Tudor in December of last year. It quickly became apparent that starting, and especially restarting, was an issue. A disconnect of a battery quick disconnect and back to frame and block, a new battery, new head, and a new rebuilt carburetor later, and she now starts right up cold and warm. Now I can go places and not worry if I will need a tow truck. Well, for a while any way. Love you show and transfer of knowledge.
"The throttle sticking a little bit. Have to keep pulling it up with my shoe". Just had this issue on my car yesterday. Looked at linkage today and seemed fine. Was going to look at the pedal next. Glad someone else had the same issue.
Looks like Gandalf is very close to ready. If you like to tinker with things a Model A is for you. There's always something to work on or adjust. Sometimes it's easy and sometimes it's not but there is a great community willing to offer assistance. Thank you Paul and Tina for being part of that community.
Thanks Craig! Honestly, once a Model A is fully sorted, very little tinkering is necessary. My tudor was "jump in and go anywhere" sorted. My sport coupe is also. My fordor is pretty much that way, but it just sits all the time, so I always do a lube before driving it once or twice a year.
A fantastic car! I never realized how sturdy construction were these beauties until the day I got a scale model and had to build up the engine, the the chasis, body, wheels and as everything was new to me, I couldn't believe how large and very resistant these old cars were. A wonder in four wheels.
Thanks for the ride. There is some really beautiful countryside where you guys live. And there's really no need to fast forward through the driving bits, I personally really enjoy those too.
Nice good roads & no traffic. And it's all green out there, the scenery. Nice car you guys. Thanks for the tour. Best wishes. Been trying to watch this video for days.

The Tudor Model A's were really beautiful little cars. Once someone that knows what they are doing has inspected it, they are reliable. With my old fords I worry about overheating, as that can ruin an engine. . Gandalf has character and sounds good. You can tell just from the sound how well the car is 'sorted' - Cheers from Taos.
Howdy Paul, I'm asking you the following questions because I've watched your videos for some time. I like the way you communicate with your audience. My wife and I would like a Model A. Her Grandfather had a Model A much like your coupe with the cloth covered top. She was in line for receiving this Ford years ago. That did not happen. I had a couple of Model A's. A 1930 Fordor sedan. and a 1931 delivery. None of my Fords ever saw final Restoration. When I was in Junior College I got interested in Cadillac's. And that had been the disease that I have had the rest of my life. I am now 84 years young. The only antique car I have left is a 1948 Cadillac Sedanette. I've owned and worked on this car for 43 years. It is not finished and does not currently run. It is an absolute rust free car and has been garaged for it's total life. We would like to trade this car for a Model A Coupe. I know you don't deal in Cadillacs. But do in Model A. So my last Question Is. How might you help My Wife and Myself make contacts with the right People. Thanks Claudia and Don "Don's Old Garage" on TH-cam.

Just never had the opportunity with some a unit from this era. Just really interesting as says 40k on the odometer, but I assume it’s 140k, 240k? It’s crazy as it looks like it was parked 30 years ago but was in a controlled environment so it’s just got a little layer of dust. Not a dent, I could turn over motor by hand. I know it’s Extremely unlikely, but I’d doesn’t even show signs of restoration. I’ve learned not to get too excited, but at minimum, it’s solid. Hopefully I’ll end up with it. If so, I’d go through and make mechanically sound and enjoy it. It appears to be too nice to modify. I’m going to do some research as I’m mostly interested in how rare it is. I took a walk around video, I’ll try to grab a few screen shots from it and post on Twitter and post link here in case anyone wants to see it. Btw, with your following, I’m very impressed you took the time to answer me. It means a lot and I appreciate it. I found your channel by searching for the specific model and am looking forward to watch through your videos. God bless:)
I'm just a regular guy, of course I will answer you. Not some kind of celebrity or anything. Why not offer them a couple thousand and see where it goes from there?
No sense bringing tools if you don't bring parts... Wire, duck tape, glue, snips, alum foil, hose clamps, tire. Pat**/ tube patches, cell phone, etc....😅
