  • Rifah Rafia Monir is a student in the Master of Arts in Interdisciplinary Graduate Studies program in the Community Engagement, Social Change and Equity theme, supervised by Dr. David Geary and Dr. Shannon Ward.
    Rifah’s research aims to understand the association between the politics of language and educational curriculum of the Rohingya refugees in Bangladesh, and explains how contemporary politics surrounding the Rohingya refugees in Bangladesh affect views on language learning and acquisition. The results of her research inform policymaking to create a better environment for refugees to learn their mother language.
