      Also huh? The point that the show is OBJECTIVELY awful and flawed has been argued to death by a large multitude of people whether its in an insulting manner or not fans of the show will still just insult you, dismiss your criticism and call you an "Obsidian purist" for whatever reason, even if you don't bring up the Obsidian games in the slightest.
      And when they don't they don't even argue against anything nor do they have the capacity to make good counterarguments because of how badly put together the show is, they just start making excuses the likes of: "season 2 will explain everything you guys" like bruh? :v
      Just go to r/Fallout or Twitter and look up threads criticizing the show, people can not say anything mildly negative in the slightest without a myriad of Fallout tourists and Bethesda F4NB*YS losing their mind at the mere thought of someone not liking their corpo slop.

Sw should have already seen them here. Instead what we got was a couple of raiders wearing paintball & airsoft masks... The only thing that season 2 can do to fix any of these issues is opening with "this show is not canon to the wider events of fallout".

You are so simple minded that you seem to think that because something was the case in the past, it must remain the same in the present otherwise lore has been changed, which is not the case. Tec advances for the brotherhood does not equal a break away from lore, it simply equals development. You claim "vehicles are completely gone" Proving you did not watch the show, or you not knowing the meaning of vehicle, unlike what you may think it is not limited to things that drive on wheeles and either way you do not know that there are no cars, simply because you have not seen any, it is not like you have seen everything that exists in the world. The only real argument you had was for Shady Sands but even that fails as you do not know what happned, if the people moved and named their new location by the same name, much like the Dutch originally calling what is now New York, New Amstadam. There are more than 10 locations in USA called Denmark. You do not know that the very thing that they made to keep ghouls from going feral does not give them regenerative properties, nor do you know if or when they found out what made them feral, finding out something that you did not know in the past is not breaking lore, it is simply new information, new tec, is not breaking lore, it is simply new tec. For something to be lore breaking, it would have to be a change to past events, to which you in fact have seen none.

      I would disagree because inconsistency between games is what Bethesda does. The inconsistencies between Morrowind and Oblivion is one example, the evidence leans more towards Bethesda just being generally inconsistent in what they make, if the Elder Scrolls is any indication. Changing the climates in Tamriel could be handwaved between Oblivion and Skyrim could be handwaved given the time gap between Oblivion and Skyrim. But between Morrowind and Oblivion is reaching. Also they changed what the Dark Brotherhood and other organizations were between only six years’ difference between Morrowind and Oblivion. Between Oblivion and Skyrim is 200 years, so over that time, maybe they planted trees, drained marshes, or abandoned land for forests to reclaim the land. But overall, inconsistency between games is just Bethesda being Bethesda, and it’s in no way unique to Fallout

    The Fallout show falls into the same pattern of modern film making. Multiple lead characters. Constant flashbacks and back stories. The only thing they grasp is surface level iconography and references with no deeper understanding of the established lore. Ignoring said established lore to the point of contradictions. Breaking the old lore.
    The Fallout show should have had only one central character and their perspective of the wasteland. Supporting characters that could become companions or are essential to the protagonist. Antagonists could have multiple minor characters with their own goals as obstacles to the protagonist. The main villian should only be introduced through rumors. The protagonist finding only what clues about he, she, or them through their journeys. Such as finding the aftermath of a slaughtered town. Something that would happen in the Fallout Universe. No flashbacks to the prewar America.
    My own take on a Fallout show would be the protagonist waking up alone in a medical center. Crumbling out of an auto-doc. He has no idea how he got there. He doesn't know his name. There is no one around. The entire first episode would be him venturing out to explore his surroundings. Gathering what supplies he could find. Clothing, weapons, ammunition, food, and medicine. There's not much but at least he has something. Exploring the facility he thinks it's some kind of bunker. He is attacked by mutant rats and rad roaches. The facility seems to be on auxiliary power.
    All of this is meant to inform the audience to what is necessary to survive in Fallout. The exploration, scavaging, and combat. Clues to his past and the people who lived inside this bunker complex. Hacking computers and lock picking. The mystery to why he knows how to do everything he does but he can't remember his past or his name. But he has to escape. Or else this bunker will be his tomb.
    His story is about discovering who he is as his initial motivation. The main plot and threat emerges after he escapes the Vault and has gone several crazy adventures.

    The Bounty on Wilzig is also a Plothole. Who put it on him? The Brotherhood had an exact description of the Guy, even the Dog and the stolen Technology was 100% acurate information. The only Factions who knew all this exact information are Moldevars Remnants and the Enclave. Moldevar didn't need to put a Bounty on a Guys head that's on his way to her anyway. So there is just one option left: The Enclave. My Issue with this is that a secret Organisation like the Enclave wouldn't put Bounties on valuable Researchers. Remember: This Guy knows where their Base is and other secret stuff that would compromise them. If a Faction, like the Brotherhood for example, get their hands on this Guy all the secrets would be open to them. Everyone hates the Enclave because of their Past. They wouldn't risk beeing exposed like this and that an Ememy Faction get their Technology.

    “The west coast factions were stomped on to allow the BOS to invade another wasteland”
    Todd’s hard on for the BOS strikes again. Can Todd just come clean and make a game or series purely focusing on the BOS? Unceremoniously killing off the NCR just so the BOS can be the big bad faction again is a load of bullshit. It’s all gloss until you dig in deep and realize how the BOS is full of holes as a faction because there is no way to explain their continuously growing strength. At least Arthur Maxson being able to unite the Brotherhood of Steel and allow outsiders to join is a sufficient explanation for how their numbers grew significantly compared to how obscure they were in DC pre-unification of chapters and most especially compared to the BOS in the west coast, but it still would not explain their growing technological might. The NCR was at least understandable because the residents of Vault 15 actually tinkered with technology. So unless Bethesda comes out clean and just has the Brotherhood be a self-sufficient city-state full of techno monks who think they should horde all technology to safeguard humanity, then it would at the very least put me at peace as to why we are seeing all this stompage from the BOS.

      @@masterficus yeah, I've been talking with the people I've watched with, and we've been skimming through the show of places where the characters might have said how long ago Lucy's mom passed away. Like Lucy herself or her dad or brother (before the reveal that Lucy's mom is the ghoul). Even seeing if Max might have said how long ago Shady Sands was nuked.
      It feels like the show was vague on when Lucy's mom's death and how long ago Shady Sands was nuked. The chalkboard was consistent on its dating until the end when it says the fall of Shady Sands and has a date and then has an arrow pointing at a nuke. We have the date for when the city fell but don't have the date when it was nuked. If the city fell from population decline or crop failure or something else, the city might have been able to climb out of it, and it would be another footnote in its cities history. But they don't have a date for something that pales in comparison to the fall of the city. It's like having a date of something bad happening in Pompeii and next to that date with an arrow pointing to it, there's an image of a volcano exploding. I think who ever drawn the chalkboard messed up and "the fall of Shady Sands" was supposed to sound more dramatic than the nuking of Shady Sands. Or they had the foresight in drawing it like the way they did to make it vague as possible (seeing how the show goes I think it's unlikely). I just grasping at straws and rambling on about stuff the writers or anyone would think of. God this show is a mess when you look more into it.

    Really good play by play. The show, despite what a lot of people want to think, totally misrepresented the themes of the series too, but I realize that's not really the point here. But it does leave it with hardly any redeeming qualities
    I found it especially funny that Moldaver talks about communists like they're a myth, "Just a dirty word," when the country's in a cold war with them and the entire show takes place in a setting that was blown up by a communists. (Unless Vault-Tec really did do it, which would be incredibly stupid anyway)
    Also thought the Brotherhood's treatment of squires was suicidally insane. I don't care how fanatical they're supposed to be, they'd be an army of deserters if they treated their recruits that horrendously right before sending them on far-off missions with little supervision.
    Agree that the music often killed the tone, which is something even a lot of the show's critics disagree on. The cheerful music was never that big a part of the games to the point of being horribly out of place.
    Flip-up visors are really stupid, there's not much of an argument to the contrary.

    5:20 I will say that it would not be out of the realm of possibility for cars to be in that scene. The consensus of EMPs from nuclear detonations affecting cars is pretty much just "it may affect some but not all cars even modern ones as the circuits are too short to be affected."
    One of my favorite books was One Second After that had to do with a man and his family surviving in a post apocalyptic world after a severe EMP attack with all cars and advanced electronics not working. But the premise has been thoroughly debunked.

    Rose "died in blight" 2277 (when she took children and went out, likely 2276-77) and Lucy flashback is from that. Not long after (before end of 2277) after kids were back in, Rose stayed out ("died"), and 5yrs after all that Shady got nuked (by someone). Also Lucy said that up till she was 6yo, she believed that Vault light was Sun, and only after mom gone (2277), she realized it was mom who "made it feel real"..
    Moldaver keeps her location secret (some agencies have bounty on her), she can NOT take high profile target as Wilzig directly.
    Knight Titus had Tempered Lining armor (mentioned ep) so no weak spot to hit.
    Lucy took Wilzig's head same day, then that night she took a rest, while Ghoul started search from Filly, so she didn't have that much "head start".
    Enclave base from wich Wilzig escaped is in NY (Brooklyn Army Terminal), so if that is the location, instead just filmed there, he came from far, also as high value target, will not go directly to the place, instead will "wander around" trying to cover his tracks, or arrived somewhat early in the area, waiting for "deliver schedule". And since he himself was going to Moldaver, likely them two had some cooperation. Scene next to brear cave where he changed from "doctors coat" to jacket, is cronologically before he approached Lucy (she lit a fire during night, and he wore jacket), so when Titus and Max find "doctor's coat, even if scenes right one after another, actually couple or few days time difference.

    • @masterficus
      @masterficus  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      So Rose stayed in Shady Sands 5yrs after her kids got kidnapped and didn't try to save them?
      Moldaver has a bounty on her so she can't meet Wilzig, but Wilzig has a bounty on him so Moldaver sends him to a settlement full of criminals and bounty hunters? They could've met at the entrance to Vault 33
      So Titus was the only BOS with tempered lining, and after the ghoul tried and failed to one shot it he was so sure it would work on the other BOS knights that he monologued about it.
      Lucy passed the donut shop during the day, the next day the ghoul passed the donut shop, so lucy had a 1 day head start(lol, HEAD start)
      I had never considered enclave scientist traveled across the entire country by himself, with a dog, no gun, and a briefcase. If that is true then that scene is so much worse than I ever suggested.
      The order of events between lucy meeting and bear cave doesn't change the insane odds of those meetings.

    • @elvisibra
      @elvisibra 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@masterficus Yes, but Lucy took rest for the night, that is when Ghoul caught up with her. It doesn't even matter which night (same day night, or next day night) cause ghoul was shown losing day in Filly (presumably) and Lucy was shown Losing night in "desert". Thadeus was slow with crashed foot and a heavy bag. Moldaver has her own issues. Wilizig is being tracked by bounty hunters, taking him directly would be foolish, thus she used middlemen. Filly is known local hub (five BoS knight took of from Wendover Army airbase in nort west Utah, each to its own direction, Titus sent west to California ordered to search Filly first as stated in ep 2, means that Filly has importance there), people you need are there, it is a risk, as you said, that explains why he was "so random" there. He was avoiding getting caught there by the wrong people. And yes, Wilzig life in that Enclave base, and trip to California can be TV show of its own, with multiple seasons (if filming location of base is "the location) so do not expect to have Wilzig spin off inside of The Fallout. We will maybe get some few flashback at best. Some Knights have Tempered Lining. In the observstory one out of three could not be taken down by AP ammo, thus Ghould blew his helmet portion up with grenade. Yeah it would seem that Rose, decided that outside is more important than going back in with kids (at lest she knew they are safe, if nothing else). I mean that "great plague" in 2277 in Vault 33 "when people had to quarenteen", thus couldn't grow crops, so people starved, including her mother", while father "fropped to 128 pounds", must be when Rose was proclaimed dead by Hank, Betty and other 31s in 33. 🤷 Not sure, but it would seem so.

    • @masterficus
      @masterficus  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Lucy is shown to be walking during the day, which means after she woke up she started walking, it isn't until the middle of that day that the ghoul passed the donut shop that Lucy passed the previous day.
      Thadeus walked on a crushed foot with a heavy bag (which is a problem by itself) for days with no idea on where to go. It wasn't until after Lucy and Max leave vault 4 that Thadeus decides to go to the radio tower.
      Is taking Wilzig more foolish than letting him travel alone to a "hub" of bounty hunters and criminals? If Moldover already has a bounty on her head then she's already prepared to defend herself from bounty hunters, meeting Wilzig directly will minimize the number of people that know about him. He's carrying Moldovers lifes work.
      So the ghoul could've killed Max with just a grenade but didn't. The ghoul had two ways to one-shot power armor.
      Rose left the vault with her kids because she didn't trust Hank anymore. To let Hank take them back without going after them contradicts why she took them away in the first place.
      EDIT: btw I just noticed you combined your responses to keep the conversation in one place, I appreciate that. Thank you

      @@masterficus Wilzig obviously planned an escape (that is why he put the thing in his head), circumstances weren't shown, but obviously things were planned. He only had to escape somewhat (few days maybe) before scedule due to what happened. Ghoul possibly didn't have grenades with him in Filly. Day of shoot out in Filly, Lucy pushed, went to satellite, took head and that evening took a rest for night, in the mean time, Ghould lost that afternoon in Filly collecting clues around and from those he killed (that is how he got a letter, Roofus and Tommy stuff), and that evening he pushed out, so yeah, Lucy's advsntage was gone. Moldaver faction is not good with some other factions (thus they have bounty on her), she hides her location, she can not ditectly participate in high profile/attention exchanges with Wilzig (I already explained that, not gonna repeat myself), she can only hope that she can cover her tracks, and try take him indirectly without exposing hersel.

    About the Ghoul drug: there is a chance that the ghoul was bullshitting Lucy about what that drug does. In a lot of Fallout stuff there are multiple competing explanations of what is going on even within the same storyline, also this show is a series of head fakes and obvious misleads, maybe they were accidentally less obvious with one. The drug I.V. leading in to the grave isn't necessarily the signal that he is a ghoul in his revival scene, though the timing of the mutant comment makes that the clearest interpretation.

    And even Fallout 3 was more faithful to lore, for all it's problems. Like, the BoS was very different, but this was addressed; seeing such massive suffering, seeing the people were going to be wiped out by muties, they elected to stand up and help them, a much bigger version of what the first elder Maxson did to help you in the first game. And it wasn't universally applauded; a whole big group of them took off, painted their armor black, performed their mission, and struggled to find a way to communicate with the west coast leadership to report the betrayal. I don't think that's entirely enough to explain such a huge shift, but at least a fair amount of effort went in to trying to explain it; it wasn't just a handwave. And 3 at least felt isolated, empty; you didn't randomly bump into people every 5 minutes that pushed the story along. It's amazing how Bethesda writing just gets worse and worse, and then, when combined with Amazon writing (so like Rings of Power), it reaches new lows.
