In this case I would say its matter of preference (AD wins for me here as well) but in general I consider Addiesdive much better quality in many of the aspects to PD.
I would rather have a blue AR coating and be able to read the dial than to have no coating and see nothing but the sunlight reflections on the surface of the crystal.
I love this video specially from 6.40- 7.30 you give the view from other person that will see you wearing the watch that i can decide the watch is cool or not for me. That is rare bcause most reviewrs just sitting, wear it on hand and zoom it. Not styling when they use it outdoor
The end of the seconds hand on the Steeldive has better ending, that is, looks more to its homage inspiriation Rolex submariner, therefore my vote goes to Steeldive! :D
The only thing I don't like about the Pagani is the lack of lume. Otherwise it's a great watch for the money. But I recently bought a Steeldive 1953 and it is as good or better than the Pagani, AND it has amazing lume.

Do they compare to my much more costly watches €1500 and up? On the wrist, often they do. But up close and in detail - of course they don't.

PD makes very solid watches, but they really, really should change their name and branding. It doesn't suit a watch, it rather suits to a suit company. LOL Also, they have an opportunity to move away from making homages. I mean, how hard is to change a design and put in a bit of personal flair and originality?
Not all their watches are homages, at least no more than other much more costly brands. In design there are certain ideas, features and tropes that are commonplace. Different watch designs use more or less of them. If you want a highly waterproof watch you're likely to get a screwdown crown. If you want a dive watch, you need a bezel with markers and a grippy edge. If you want to see the indices and hands underwater you get large lume filled markers and wide, lume filled baton hands. Basically, you're going to get something like a Submariner, which itself was influenced by earlier designs. Same applies to other watches and brands.
sorry, too expensive for me and too expensive as for a homage watches overall in my opinion. I would rather buy something unique for that kind of money.
@@faboris64 I would suggest looking at something from Citizen, they have relatively cheap but ISO certified diver watches that look impressive. No hamage watch is ISO certified as far as I know.
