I messaged Scott regarding this video, got direct and timely response, ordered the parts and performed the repair today. Saw runs like a champ, have all my fingers, and owe you a beer! Excellent dude!
Whoever engineered that spacer probably doesn't work on saws much. I just assume that stuff happens no matter what my current project is and really appreciate engineers that save me from screw ups. Great video, brother!
Nice Job and Great Tips I Use a Buisness Card To Gap My Coils I Left One In There Onetime One a Briggs V Twin It Shredded Up and Was All Throughout The Heat Shielding and Blower Housing I’ll Never Forget That 😳😳😩😩
My new 562 lost spark today. Took it back to dealer. Do you think its the ignition module ? Was on its 3rd tank of fuel. Your videos are a big help Thanks
I can laugh because I’ve done it too. Might have helped to be a different color. Ground wire under the screw, like to talk to that engineer. Lol. Take care
Hi Scott, I have a Husqarna 450 bogging down. It also makes a shooting sound like miss fire when dying. Does it sounds to you more like an ignition problem? I have already cleaned and rebuild carburator and changed spark plug and air filter. The fuel lines and fuel filter also look good. Thank you for your response and have a great day, Jerry
I mean...it certainly could be an ignition problem. It might be worthwhile to pull the flywheel and inspect the key. Then again it really could be a dozen other things.
Sorry to change subject. You answered about starting place for the idle screw. I start half way up the incline. High at 1 1/2 turns and Low at 1 turn. Easier to see that. But would like to know better your method.
I don't really have a method because its rarely a factor. Once the machine starts then I adjust to whatever is needed. Its not often that I can't get something started because its so far out of adjustment. If I did need to preset those needles then your method of 1 to 1 1/2 is a good starting point.
Love the videos. Do you have any hot start fixes for earlier 562xp's? I have a 2012 model with 40 hrs on it that wont restart when hot. Its been to my dealer 7or 8 times . They say its nothing wrong with it . But they dont test run the saw and get it hot. Primer bulb wont pick up fuel.i dont use the decomp when warmed up and put the saw on fast idle. Wont start with a loose fuel cap. I havent ran this saw due to reliably issues. Any help you could offered would be appreciated
It sounds like you're using the correct warm start procedure. Certainly vapor lock could be the issue but first I would confirm a few things like pressure testing the fuel lines, checking the micro screen in the carb, confirming the primer operation and checking the firmware for updates.
In this case the saw just ran erratically. There were no error codes. Yes the module was covered. Husqvarnas policy is lifetime warranty on ignition modules. They cover labor if the unit is still under its original warranty to the original purchaser.
This particular model has had some issues in the last couple years but to say the whole 5 series lineup is junk is just starting a "ford vs chevy" discussion.

A failed ignition module in a 562 isn't something I see a lot of but its certainly a possibility.
I can laugh because I’ve done it too. Might have helped to be a different color. Ground wire under the screw, like to talk to that engineer. Lol. Take care
It seems to me there are a lot easier places to have put that ground wire.
Yep. I'm pleading the fifth on that.😂

Thanks again Scott do they have a lot of problems with ignition modules
No, on average I'd say they hold up pretty well.
Useful video, so you can just swap out a coil without programming it then?.. Cheers..
Yes as long as its the same part number coil. Updated coils would require updating the autotune firmware.
Ok, thanks for the info..
Love the videos.

i was wondering what symptoms did the saw exhibit? did the diagnostic tool confirm the problem? did husky warranty the repair?

@@TheGreasyShopRag thanx for the response. have to give husky credit for their policy.
Nice Work, so what would be the total price of a fix like that?
MSRP for that module is $130. Labor flat rate for this warranty claim is either 5 units (30 minutes) or 6 units (36 minutes) at our shop labor rate.
👍💯
Hey bud what impact is that, it seems compact. Thanks
SnapOn. Not sure of the model number. All of their 14.4 volt lineup is nice and compact.
junk 5 series husqtrosc
