    I agree, this can't be considered animal abuse. When the white dog stopped pulling, the owner didn't start yelling or hitting it to keep pulling. He just waited for the dog to start back on his own. It looks kinda hard on them, but hey, if they like it, then they like it. million times better than fighting them.

    I hate people who complain about shit like this, saying 'people who do this shouldn't own dogs' no, its idiots who dont allow there dogs to do things they enjoy who shouldnt own them, especially the ones who just make there dogs sit in all day and think a half an hour walk every day is satisfactory for the dog.

    you know, pulling 5000 pounds weight is different from generating 5000 pounds of pulling force. With certain condition you can pull 5000 pounds weight with 1 pound of force.

    • @miguksimin

    • @EGGINFOOLS
      @EGGINFOOLS 10 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Its the weight that they use as the description because its the variable in the test that can be controlled easily. The friction coefficient of the surface would be a lot harder to measure and control for a test like this. It would be the static force used to move the object in a true test which would be even harder to control. Once an object is moving it becomes "lighter"essentially because the momentum is now there. So it doesn't matter if its on wheels or dirt. What matters is the measurement of the controlled variable in the test.

      Pretty amazing stuff, though, don't you think? You don't see many other (if any) kinds of dogs doing this besides bulldogs. It's to test all the working qualities we know and love in our bulldogs (drive, tenacity, power, endurance, the ability to go the distance, etc.). A true working sport that is a great outlet for burning energy.

    • @Libertariandude
      @Libertariandude 10 ปีที่แล้ว +11

      ljeonjko you sound like another uneducated, fat, white gal with emotional issues. I don't believe for a second that's your profile pic. • @Ryuushun
      @Ryuushun 10 ปีที่แล้ว +12

      ljeonjko you know that certain breeds were bed to do just this right... Actually many working dogs were used as pack animals. This is no different than a human going into the gym and lifting as a work out. Secondly people who have dogs competing at this level most likely care for their dogs better than you would.

    • @ljeonjko
      @ljeonjko 10 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Emil Vasilescu yeah sure, there are no differences between this and a man going to the gym if you are ronnie coleman. not to mention that mere weight lifting/pulling is like a death sentence for your bones, joints and cardiovascular system. you do not make one 40 kg dog pull 2 tons, that's just wrong and sick.

      Dog owners forcing their dogs to do this shit are atrocious and selfish and greedy idiots. Hoping your dog will win you a big cash price. And then the fuckers that inject their dogs with steroids. Owners need to start lifting themselves and join strongmen competition themselves and not have their dogs do it. Weight lifting is fucking painful. Dogs are not humans and while dogs love exercise I don't believe for one bit they enjoy fucking pulling weights weighing more than themselves. They like running and playing fetch, they like cardio exercise. A bunch of shitty dog owners, using their dogs to stroke their ego.

      @mociczyczki 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      it depend on dog weights surface and claws so grip and if you want know pushing without jerkor with jerk …. pulling without jerk will have much lower peak force but it last much longer 👍🏻 pulling without jerk depend on surface avg be ewuivalent to dog weight so 10 kg dog generste on forcemeter 10 kg aka 98 newtons if rollling resist be 0,02 than it be able to pull from this almost 500 kg 👍🏻 with jerk if dog have good jerk technique so it repeat it many times and regualtion allow to do this than more 👍🏻 ….100 kg dog generate be slowww pullling avg 100 kg on avg surface the same as human on ice much less asf with jerk it depend on how big distance dog take for finally stop on chain weight dog and speed and for such measurement fprcemeeter must have enough hz /sampling frequency or you seeen nothing/black screeen on forcemeter 👌🏻

      I don't think they can, usually...The dogs probably only weigh 80 pounds and the humans aren't just dead weight like the bricks on wheels. I think maybe you weren't being totally serious but I am responding anyway :) people often say my dog is too big for me (I'm a girl), but she can't pull me around even though she's stronger than I am. I'm sure she could pull a thousand pounds of bricks, but I don't weigh that much, and she can't pull me! She has lunged on leash many times since we got her from the shelter a year ago (less and less often), but she can't get away, even when she sees a squirrel. She's an 84lb pit beast. So anyway I don't think it's unsafe to strength train dogs like that if you can control them. You also probably wouldn't take them on walks using a hauling harness, so they wouldn't be able to pull you like they pull the weights.

If anything, these owners are the best owners these dogs can ask for because they actually give the dog a job and care about their dog's weight. So many dogs are overweight because their owners don't give a shit and don't give their dogs a job to do.

    Hi Lizzy. Weight pull is a canine sport. It gives the dog an outlet for excess energy and gives them a physical and mental challenge. The training that the dogs go through also provides one-on-one time for the dog and handler to bond and enjoy each other. Dogs that do competitive weight pull can also earn titles and the best go to championships.

They just wanna play fetch and run around in the grass being dogs and not pulling weight to stroke their owner's ego. And don't try and tell me the dog is happy cause it's tail is wagging. Dogs wag their tail for more reasons other than happiness. And in this video their tails are just flailing and not wagging, almost like the tails are shaking. When I life too heavy my hands will start shaking and that is absolutely how I interpret these dogs body language. Fucking ridiculous. Only people that practise this kind of abuse will condone this. And let's be real here, the owner make their dogs do this so that their dogs will hopefully win their owners a nice big cash price and not for their dog's happiness or wellbeing.

    A great sport for great dogs. Bully/Bulldog breeds like APBTs are great dogs and sports like this are great for them. People like those that are against this completely legal and legit sport for some reason are clueless and need to get more educated. Such people just don't get these hardy working dogs and the jobs/activities they take part in, are tested by, and are bred to be able to do like weight pulling, big game (deer, wild pig, bear, etc.) hunting, and springpole. I mean..what are those people against weight pulling talking about? This is good. It's exercise. It's an outlet to burn all of that energy they have. It is also a way to test and showcase the qualities and abilities of these dogs safely and legally. This is what Bully/Bulldog breeds like the APBT are all about. They live for physical activity, challenge, competition, testing their strength, charging ahead, and pleasing their owners. It's because they are such hardy working dogs. They actually LOVE doing this. They wouldn't be out their doing this and doing it so well if they didn't. These dogs love to pull. They do it all the time. When they are taken out for walks..many of them pull and charge ahead. And these people here have the appropriate gear for the dogs so that the dogs can pull safely and comfortably so there should be no concerns at all. These people understand their dogs and care about their dogs greatly.

      The competitive nature of the sport, some organizations you can join (like the American Pulling Alliance), etc. One man even sort of goes over a little bit of the training he does to condition his dogs (he has his dogs drag chains to help build strength and endurance as well as toning them up and giving the dogs a good athletic build that is right for weight pulling).

      If you check out their body language, especially the brown one, his tail is up, but not rigid, his ears aren't back (in fear or submission) or alert/forward (nervous, aggressive, anxious, etc). They seemed to be really enjoying themselves. I'd ask a body builder about what it feels like with really heavy weights. Our psychology is different, but the feeling should be similar enough.

    • @1MuffinThief
      @1MuffinThief 9 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Yes this dog is not showing signs of aggressive behavior. Most people that don't know body signs would start yelling at you and probably call the cops. That's why people need to be educated about these breeds. :)

  • @sophiewilson9273
    @sophiewilson9273 10 ปีที่แล้ว +9

    It bothers me that people are calling this abuse. First, it's not like it's 5000 lbs of dead weight, and it's much easier to pull once they have their momentum going. This is a great energy outlet for dogs that are physically able to do this, and if the dog didn't like it, they wouldn't be doing it. Owners aren't going to push their dogs past their limits, and both the owner and the dog knows its limit.

    • @RobertLogic

      "Working dogs" refers to breeds of dogs that have a high drive towards certain tasks. Just because people don't ride around on sleds doesn't mean that the dog should be neglected by not giving them a challenge. Working breeds love to have a challenge.

      @BarefeetB 6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Brittany Cryar I can tell by you're comment that you really don't know much about "working" dogs ? The apbt is a working dog through and through
      They are used by the police , and as bomb / narcotics dogs , search and rescue , service dogs , on cattle stations , agility sports , hunting dogs etc etc ... what makes them such good working dogs is they love it ! They need to be mentally and physically
      Stimulated that's what makes them happy.
      It's a bit like having two totally different humans
      For example my stress relief after work is to go for a nice long hard run along the beach , that stimulates me in both ways
      Now my girlfriend likes to come home , pour a wine and relax on the couch and is quite content doing that Now if I was forced to do that every day I would go nuts just like my pitbull would ! So it's probably worth keeping you're un educated sarcastic comments to you're self in the future !!!
