    I love your content! I'm in Florida, about to install landscaping on my house. Can you talk a bit about irrigation, how to plan for it, what types of plants need it, etc?

    Totally Stunning, excellent presentation, I can’t wait for James to show me pictures as they grow. I love the plant that will fill in the crevices of the wall . I also would like to mention the koi pond, I know he was having trouble, incredible job, looks fabulous ! Love everything, great photography too !❤

    Great yard! So very different with such unusual challenges. Would love to see this one again in a year - in fact would love to see a lot of your yards a year after you worked your magic. Maybe a new idea for shows, yes? As for the plants with so much stone surrounding them, I have a hard time visualizing their growth and how much stone will be showing after they are grown - maybe this could be your first "and now a year later" show. Thanks for all the time you and Brycen put into this, and to every video. Your fans really appreciate it.

    Jennifer and Bryce, thank you for bringing such awesome inspiration and information on plants in Florida. Your videos are so helpful! Video idea: you often talk about cutting back plants. Could you do a video on how to cut back plants, specifically, Clusia? Thanks for creating great content!❤

    Beautiful!! Really love the rock path and water features. Can you tell me what kind of rocks you would recommend for a path where there are a ton of oak tree leaves to remove every year. Would like to be able to use a blower.

    • @TrueGardener
      @TrueGardener  ปีที่แล้ว

      That’s a tough one. The best rock I’ve found to use is the 1-3” Alabama white river rock. Has some small pieces so there’s no gaps but the larger 3” holds everything in place so you can use a blower to blow out the beds. Good luck. I know oak trees are tough to work around.

    Jennifer, your recent Updated Backyard Garden Tour video was phenomenal! I’d just recently found you on TH-cam right at the time I was getting ready to redo our front yard. I used that video as a shopping list at my favorite local nursery. Helpful is an understatement! Your encouragement to add plants “under the skirts” of bigger plants was a new thing for me. I just love the idea of it, so I tried to use that method in redoing my front yard. It’s still very much a “baby garden” right now and I’m anxious to see it grow and fill in. Ideas for upcoming videos: assorted Florida palm trees that do well in 9b, Florida native plants for 9b, perfect plants for a 9b shade garden, and how about a more detailed and instructional video on your “under planting”/under the skirts of plants. P.S. Bryce is adorable. 😊

    We live in WI but plan on moving to Florida next year, so I started watching your videos to get some ideas. I absolutely love your designs! The knowledge you have and the way you layer plants & trees, along with hardscape features, is definitely a talent you don't see often. We'll be moving to the Gulf side (so out of your area) and I was hoping you could do a video with tips or advice on how to find a great landscape designer no matter where you live.
    And maybe a video with drawings or pics of a typical Florida home with no landscaping, and then different designs you would suggest for different budgets (basic (low), intermediate and 'sky's the limit')
    Please keep the videos coming- they are so inspirational and keep me looking forward to (and dreaming about) our next chapter in paradise!❤

    Great video. Plant names and where they'll flourish is always helpful. As someone whose back yard faces full south here in Sebastian, any time you can give a general orientation of how the property is situated would be great.🌴

    Fantastic job! Where do u get the landscaping stuff like metal edging, fancy flagstone, rocks, pebbles, bowls, etc?

    • @TrueGardener
      @TrueGardener  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Permalock or Curverite are the edging types. I think permalock can be found on Amazon however they carry it in many rock yards. We buy Curverite in from a wholesaler so not so readily available but they are similar. The spillway bowls came from Aquscapes . And yes you can get those online off Amazon. The Flagstone is often carried in most rock yards. Good luck on your project.

    What are those chartreuse bushes at 33:11? I didn’t see the drench for the sago palms.

    • @TrueGardener
      @TrueGardener  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Those are songs of India. Yes, thank you I did forget to add the drench info to the video. It’s called dominion drench you can find it on Amazon or do it yourself pest control. I’ll link it in the description.

    Hello.. I have a question.. plants which is surrounded with the stones.. how do they withstand heat from the stones? We are working on our yard and getting great ideas from your videos.. can you also talk about flowers for the full Sun please? Also maybe you can show what you doing like the area in front of the house under windows etc

    • @TrueGardener
      @TrueGardener  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes, you want make sure the plants within the stone planting like it dry and 🥵 hot. Stones hold heat well into the night hours and absorb some of the water given to each plant. I usually use a drip line and wrap the plants that are in the stone twice or use a dessert style plant like agave sago, purslane, bromeliads, Bougainville in the stone sections.

    Another beautiful landscape! You're my favorite landscape designer on TH-cam. I live on the Gulf side of Florida and, since you don't work on this side of the state, I've tried to emulate your ideas into my own landscape renovations (albeit nothing like your amazing designs). What are the low growing plants on the sides of the water feature with the red and yellow flowers (time stamp 14:50)? I love the Blue My Mind plants and have incorporated some into my beds, but am looking for other low-growing filler plants to provide a greater variety of color. Thanks!

      Thank you so much! Those are pink and yellow Purslane 1 gal. They bloom all summer and fall then harsh cut back in the winter and they come back in the spring. They are a short-lived, perennial, usually two years, but they’re inexpensive and worth switching out every two years but I usually only plant them in key areas because of the switch out.

    Does white stones around plants ever hinder the water irrigation? Or everything ok? What are those small plants with purple flowers? If a King Palm has one meter of Trunk, can it be planted in full sun ?

    • @TrueGardener
      @TrueGardener  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello so yes if irrigated stone beds on average add 5 min to your water cycle. The stones absorb water even if it’s not the heat of the day they retain heat for several hours so extra watering is ideal. The blue plants are blue my minds. Yes a young sago anything larger than a 7 gal plant can be planted in full sun.

    I added crotons to my front flower bed (eastern exposure) but they are not loving their life. In fact, I’ve lost 4 of the 5 multicolored ones and the 5th is struggling. I plan to move the remaining ones to a shady spot in the back yard. Are certain crotons better in heat/sun than others?

    • @TrueGardener
      @TrueGardener  ปีที่แล้ว

      Absolutely usually the larger lift Croton‘s like protection, filter light I haven’t found any that like full shade, but Petra,mango Croton‘s and magnificence are perfect for filter, light gold dust mammy, and sloppy painters can handle more sun. Mammys handle the most sun.
