I have a soft spot for light green covers like FF 260 & Avengers 263. When you mentioned yellow covers, I thought of X-Force 11 & SSM 99
Love doing the 9.8 prescreen. Sounds like the 266 is headed back to Sarasota... Great books to get in a 9.8.
In my latest sumbissions a few weeeks ago, CGC gave most of my most $$$$$ comics 9.6s. I will only do 9.8 prescreens from now on, then resubmit the failed prescreens. The bottom 5 which I thought might get 9.6s all got 9.8s, because they were cheap comics. $$$ comics or keys are more likely to get 9.6s.
If you send CGC a box of 9.8s, they will give 12%-15% of them lower than a 9.8, right now. Use the 9.8 prescreen.

One of my biggest early collecting regrets: buying over 90% of my comics directly (pun intended) from my LCS. I spent a few hours combing through my big runs of older ASM and UXM, and sadly only a handful were newsstands 😂
If only we had known the value difference back then...
Love the submission and results. Jim, I am seriously contemplating buying a press and all supplies. I have been collecting off and on since my childhood as I've mentioned before. You are going to be my go to for this. I'll start with your website to get everything I need. I have a lot of raw books from my childhood purchases. Many more since then. All of my graded comics were bought by me. Before I get into submitting my raw comics, I want to master pressing. You are levels beyond my expertise or lack thereof. LOL. At some point, I'll consider cracking some of my slabs because I'm sure they were submitted before cleaning and pressing became more of the norm. Please hold my hand throughout this process. Ha. I wish we were neighbors or in the same city.
Glad to hear you are going for it! I'll be glad to help any way that I can. I will be doing a lot more process videos very soon and fewer unboxings. I have a big backlog of unboxings I am working through at the moment, as you may have noticed. :)
@@ImproveCollectingComics I still haven't pulled the trigger as far as the press and supplies, but the press on your website is more affordable than I imagined.
Another awesome (and quite profitable) submission even with the disappointing books that didn’t make the cut. I’d be sending them right back with your next submission.
The Transformers 50 up are hard to find in 9.4 and up, especially newsstand. I bought a collection that had a full run 38-80. A few are 9.6 some with 9.8 potential.

Love to see someone passionate about Transformers like i am! Is your goal to get the entire 80 issue run by Marvel? I had that goal at one point, mostly for about 5 years between '13-'18 but have pretty much given up as prices have risen so much, but i was able to get 31 of them in CGC 9.6-9.8. Only one is a 9.4, issue #40 but i paid $16 for that graded and said why the heck not lol. Most of them I have are between issues 1-12 and 69-80.
I only keep the ones that have some kind of meaning to me, like #10 since constructicons were my favorite villains
@@ImproveCollectingComics ah very nice! Yeah the Constructicons are awesome! Fond memories of the Transformers for me. My older brother gave me all his G1 Transformers toys and first issues of the comics when I turned 5 or 6. I was only 4 when Transformers first came out, but him being 8 years older than me he was already starting to age out of his toys. The entire set of Constructicons were in that group, and I still have all those original toys. I'll never part with them haha!!

Have you ever left a note for graders to consider issues such as the EverQuest wrinkles, that it might be a common defect? I've never done it.

have you seen CGC give purple label for rust-removal on staples?
Hasn't happened to me. It's dry cleaning, no chemicals or polish so I'm assuming it's okay to do it
Which McFarlane ASM books are you still missing in a 9.8?
5 of the higher end books and 300 (one at CGC right now that has a great chance)
what is pre-screen ? in short explanation ...
You set a minimum grade that a book must obtain before it is put in a case (slabbed). So, if I do a 9.6 pre-screen and the grader thinks it's a 9.4 or lower, he or she would just send me back the book raw.
