This man can SING! He is just amazing! Totally get blown away by his soulful vocals ,runs and range! This is the best of blue-eyed soul! Bobbi has an amazing voice. I believe he's got a 4 octave range! Remember....no autotune or tricky studio gimmicks at that time....just pure raw talent! Loved your reaction Stan.
You're the happiest Groot I've ever seen. Glad you like Bobby and Bill, too. If you haven't heard them do "You'll Never Walk Alone" on the Ed Sullivan show, it's a real treat.
"Summertime" is such a great song & has been covered by so many artists. Love this version! It shows just how good Bobby Hatfield was & his incredible range. The Righteous Brothers were known for their blue eyed soul music. These guys were the best. Bobby Hatfield with his beautiful tenor voice & Bill Medley with his deeper voice. They were magic together. Other great songs by them is "Unchained Melody", "You've Lost That Lovin' Feelin'', "Soul & Inspiration", "Just Once In My Life", "Ebb Tide", "Rock & Roll Heaven" etc.
"Blue-eyed soul" at its best! You called them the ultimate entertainers. There is a reason for that. Before becoming famous they worked the 2AM shows in Vegas. Frank Sinatra saw their act and really liked them. He saw the talent and took them under his wing. The Righteous Brothers credit Sinatra for showing them how to become entertainers, performer. Not just singers. 💕
Watch Bubby give Bill a bad time on Bring it on home to me. Bill can’t sing Bobby’s notes, but Bobby can sing Bill’s. Then there’s Dream on and Somewhere and Crying in the chapel. Have you heard Eric Clampton’s Holy Mother or his Tears in heaven? Great guitar, also
The humor of these two was a treat. Watch Bill prank Bobby in the beginning of "My Babe" (the B&W Shindig clip wearing suits, not one with Glen Campbell or wearing their sweaters) and watch Bobby in "Bring it on Home to Me". He just kept going with the "Yeah" while Bill was trying to cue him to the finale. Bill didn't miss a beat as he kept trying. I agree that these men had skills that will never be matched. Thank you again for a great reaction.
I love love, love your reactions! So thankful that you love, the music that I grew up with! Good music, crosses, generations and races! There are no barriers when it comes to really excellent music!
Love your reactions to the Righteous Brothers! There are two more videos I feel certain you would really enjoy. One is the bit on the Andy Williams Show that immediately followed Bobby's "Unchained Melody". 8:29 It is Andy, Bill, and Bobby singing "What'd I Say". They clearly are, all three of them, having so much fun it makes it really fun to watch. The 2nd video, which is stunning, is Bobby and Bill on the Ed Sullivan Show singing "You'll Never Walk Alone". I can't wait to see your reactions!
The Righteous Brothers were pioneer's in breaking racial boundaries in the music industry! As they tell it they both grew listening to and loving Black music. So it was only natural for them to sing that music. But it wasn't until they recorded You've Lost That Lovin'Feelin' that they proved their legitimacy of Rhythm and Blues singers. They sang with so much feeling and emotion. Yes, they were the best!!
There is a so g that Bobby recorded a little later in his career. It got not much attention, but I believe it to be one of his best. " Stay With Me." He was amazing. He has been gone for 20 years, but never forgotten. Bill is still touring with a different partner at the age ocf 82. There was never another duo that could come close.
Those white boys could sing !! they were worshiped by Aretha Franklin and James brown. The best ever. try brown eyed woman by bill medley, live .it will blow your mind !!!
Now that you're heard the Summertime solo by Bobby Hatfield of the Righteous Brothers, check out Bill Medley, the other Righteous Brother, the gritty, baritone/bass voice of the duo., sing I Just Want to Make Love to You with that guitar riff by Glen Campbell.
He and Bill are the greatest duet ever tho Rolling stones Magazine puts the Everly Brothers as thee best. I disagree. Tho Everlys & Simon/Garfunkel r next in line. The R.Bros are top tier singers.
So next listen to Bill Medley’s soul in “I Just Want To Make Love To You”. Also, watch their live performance of “You’ll Never Walk Alone” on the Ed Sullivan Show.
Both are great songs!! Here are the links. You'll Never Walk Alone. th-cam.com/video/xBTeyKtfrXw/w-d-xo.html. No video for the other suggestion. It was too spicy. th-cam.com/video/Udyqprq46b0/w-d-xo.html
Great reaction Stan! Hey, you should check out a song (audio only) from Angelina's new EP (titled Old Enough). The song is called "Diamond". th-cam.com/video/qQjxAKAHSgs/w-d-xo.html I think all the songs on this EP are great, but this one shows what all she is capable of. I look forward to seeing you react to it.
I agree completely! Suggestions: “I Wanna Make Love to You”(Bill solo… Ray Charles approved 😊) and a shorty, “You’ll Never Walk Alone “ from a tv appearance.
Are you ready for Bill singing I Just Want To Make To You? Too spicy to have a video. th-cam.com/video/Udyqprq46b0/w-d-xo.htmlsi=b8pzIMk3xrQuCltK. In a completely different direction here is a clip of them singing You'll Never Walk Alone, from the Ed Sullivan Show. th-cam.com/video/xBTeyKtfrXw/w-d-xo.htmlsi=n9jqN2HSwXiDxaDb
The Rolling Stone said they were only 16-17 best duos , what the hell ? They including Batman& Robin ? peanut butter &Jelly , love & marriage ???..what ?!?!?!?

Bobby was so humble but choc full of talent and soul. He never disappointed with his surprise vocals and soul.

Have you heard these guys do, you'll never walk alone?
At the end ofthis clip, bobby intro'd Bob's song.
Bobby reminds me of James Brown he's a soul brother. I love when Bobby got down singing his soul to the moon. Just like James Brown
very well said
