Rachel, I seriously cannot thank you enough for all of the educational content you've put out there. I am currently in a YTT that isn't very thorough or informative, so I'm finding that I'm actually learning more from you than the program I'm paying for! You have been an instrumental part in my learning journey and I'm very grateful. Namaste
Leila - you are SO welcome. I am so pleased to hear that this is a good complement to help fill out your yoga training experience. Feel free to send me questions, too ;) I take video requests, so if there is something that you're finding unclear, please send it my way and we'll see if I have a good reply! 🌻
So glad it’s helpful! I am currently on a year-long, RV tour promoting the nervous system and education, but I will get back to making videos when I am home! I know I’m sorry to be taking a pause🙏🏻🤍
Thanks so much Rachel!! I’ve always said Swan Dive to, as you say discourage rounding on the way down but now will definitely say hinge from the waist with a neutral spine!! And I’m going to break it down in my next class! Great idea! Thanks so much for sharing this!
I never knew this about swandive so thank you very much. I have heard several teachers expressed their dislike 1st one died but none of them ever explained why that is this is good to know
You did a video about rounding down or flat back several months ago, so I’ve been very aware of how I am moving into a forward fold when doing sun salutations. I still hear some teachers use the “swan dive” forward cue, but this gal isn’t going to be swan diving lol. Thanks, as always, for the super useful videos!
Also wanted to add that to avoid swan diving, I often simply bring my hands down together through center, passing through heart center and folding forward that way. 👍🏼
