@@zapdragon5942 80s games could have lots of screens, too. The classic Head Over Heels game had around 250 screens, and they were in 3D-like isometric perspective! (so each screen needed multiple levels of blocks to create a room).

what's interesting about watching a TAS of this game is that it still uses the exact same strategies as a regular speedrun. i.e. this game really is purely based on skill. (most of the pixel-perfect flips here are doable by a real person)
This wasn't _the_ TAS, this was just _a_ TAS. As in, I think this guy just said "I like this game and I like using TAS tools so I'm going to make a TAS of it just for fun." Either that, or no actual optimal TAS existed yet by this point. There certainly is one now, although I don't know if anyone did this mode just because it's less interesting (no death exploits).
I just realised that Positive Force was composed in such a way that, on a perfect run, it exactly accompanies your actions in the Tower level. Or maybe it was the other way around. Wow. (I just watched Game Score Fanfare's video on a similar scene in Ori and the Blind Forest.)
i'm in awe of your dedication. just got this game for myself after playing the demo. can't imagine how much practice and time something like this would've taken... respect.
One last batch. 13:00-ish - It might be faster overall to get these trinkets earlier, perhaps on your way to The Tower. 15:45 - A well-aimed flip from the bottom of the rightmost platform of Swoop can bring you directly into Spikes Do! and skip a couple screens. 17:41 - Head right and double back twice quickly to touch the inverter a second time. 17:51 - Flip off the top left peg in Television Newsveel while holding left and you'll go straight into the first gap in Vertigo and save some time.

Also, there are lots of places where you could hug the left or right wall when entering a room to save a couple frames.
