Basically the whole presentation was about me lol. The worst part of this issue is majority of doctors do not even know or mention about PPPD. I have spent so much time and money just to figure this out. Thank you for your video!

The problem is the physical symptoms at least for me are soo extreme it’s like I drank a bottle of whisky in an hour. It’s soo intense that, you can’t just not think about it, you can’t just let it go…it’s so bad you can’t even sleep…it’s awful. There is no peace

Agree it's very hard to "just put it in the background " or ignore it when you feel so off balance. I also feel like I'm buzzed, but unfortunately haven't drank anything lol. Wish I could, I'm afraid to even have a drink for how I'll feel. 😢

Thanks dr sarah for spending your time in providing this video.

Regarding safety and avoidance behaviors. How do you go out when your rocking swaying and feeling your going to fall?

Ik how? I get so nervous to drive that I'll get dizzy behind the wheel. Any lately stores make me feel weird walking down the aisles. But I do know we have to keep doing these things even if we feel off.

The brain itself habituates, it keeps the symptoms going. Sending over exaggeration of stimuli responses that normally our brains ignore. Vestibular rehab (by a physical therapist) can help you learn neuro retraining skills. Medication, vestibular rehab AND learn mindfulness with behavioral strategies I think would have longer lasting success. If you don't solve the triggers ( like vestibular migraines), PPPD might flare up again. Multi prong approach is far more effective. I think my anxiety started FROM the symptoms and the frustration of not getting treated for months. Providers shrugging off in a game of "not it". I don't think I would be feeling better with just CBT.. Brains can be whiney old grumpy curmudgeons, with measured careful rehab we can soothe and remind the brain to function better. Pssst, it is not "all in your head" .... mental health AND neuro based issue.

Are these people just on TH-cam? I don't know of any therapists who's specialty is dizziness. Same with these vestibular audiologists that have YT channels, most audiologist near me just do hearing tests. How do you find these specialists?
