Recession is going to be mild. Jobs market is red hot. There has never ever ever been a recession where GDP declines but unemployment decreases. Where demand goes down, but more people are getting hired. It's going to be a correction, interes rates are going to tip the economy over a little bit but nothing to crazy. You can already see that most commodities prices are going down meaning that inflation will go down because demand is going down. This will give supply chain bottlenecks time to fix up. The energy crisis in the EU is a different ballgame but bothing insane. Don't expect a 2008 crisis. It's going to be mild. Also equities are fairly cheap rn so go wild and shop at a discount. Well done, young man. Though I didn't work in the field of IB, I did spend 25 years in corporate media/advertising. As a middle class, NYC kid it was so cool to put on a suit and go into Manhattan everyday. But it wears off quick. Man, when I was interning in the early/mid 90s, the office was a wild place to be. People were just getting access to the Internet and downloading porn in the office! Everyone would gather around someone's cube just to check it out. There were always people having work affairs cheating on their spouses, and of course lots of cocaine use in the bathrooms! And every Thursday was required happy hour drinking at the local pub in midtown. That's where you really made work connections and relationships. Times are so different now in 2022. In many ways they are better but I have to say back then being in my 20's in the 1990s offices were crazy fun!

Crazy compared to the EU. Getting in at 8:30 and leaving at 6:30 is considered early for you because normally you're there until 20:00 to 22:00. Here a typical workday is 8:30-09:00 till 17:00-18:00. When there's extra work that needs to be done and you need to stay late that day the boss will actually ask you if thats okay, but here it's not a regular thing.
Sorry to burst your bubble but Investment Banker, Consultants, lawyers etc. also have 80h work weeks in the EU. It’s just in the nature of these jobs to have longer work hours
@@TheRealColonel investment bankers officially only work 40 hours or something like everyone else. But that’s only on paper. Interesting how things change, when I was an intern I got never out before midnight. Once you’re in, make sure you move to the buyside quickly.
