Okay but I REALLY cant agree with this list. After witnessing Tool live Simi-recently I can say for a fact that the #1 spot deserves to go to Danny (aka: the octopus). At the concert there was a whole 10-15 minute break put in place just so Danny could show off. I will never Ever forget that part even If I do forget the rest of the show Danny's drum solo will forever stay in my head!

Are you actually serious? Danny Carey is only number 8?! I might have my Tool fan blinders on but Carey is one of the greatest and most intricate drummers ever. He can master some of the most difficult pieces of music. Try playing in some of those time signatures he does. Listen to Ticks and Leeches if you want to hear the sheer talent he has. I'm not saying the other drummers don't belong on the list, but 8 is WAAAY too low for someone of Danny Carey's caliber.

@@Miist3rDuce1oh GOSH no. Lars has a rather simplistic approach to drumming and sometimes lacks the coordination. The only song where he actually stands out uniquely and well is “One”. Meanwhile Mike Portnoy has strong coordination and deftly handles tempo sand metre changes (see Panic Attack)- and he is expressive with his playing (The Glass Prison, A Nightmare to Remember to name a few). I would even argue that Mangini, Portnoy’s replacement, is better than Lars.

My guys did not research. The first clips of Iron Maiden (Run to the hills) showed Clive Burr not Nicko McBrain. They also put the title 'Run to the hills' when he was playing a smaller kit, it was actually the 'Trooper'

Danny Carey is hands down top 3 and should be first in my opinion. His tight timing, his unusual sense of tempo change, and his overall technical ability are far better than Lars. #8 is an insult.

Color and flare. You want an drummer that can hold a series of solid ostenatos and have independence to express and comp. There are few out there at possess all these. But one must listen to a wide range of music and hear the differences
