Essential! I've never bought a new motorcycle without a demo ride, then a weekend rental. I actually go to one of those multi-brand organized demo days almost every year.
I think before we sign our name to a $25,000+ bike, at least a short demo ride is a reasonable ask. Although we probably have a pretty good understanding of the bike we’re about to take home, have probably already ridden the exact bike elsewhere. A used bike I’d be more inclined to demo more than just a short putt to the mailbox. A new bike coming to me with warranty and nobody else’s riding or wrenching history, I’m less needing of a lengthy demo ride.
I always demo ride a bike. When I demoed the RG it was in November and I had never rode a shark nose. Bought it when we got back and don’t regret it at all.
I’ve always done demo rides on the bikes I own now. My last dealer told me to take my time on any ride. I appreciated this and I got a chance to really see if it was a good fit.
I did not demo a VTX back in '07 before I bought one, was not let down, I rode that bike for 14 years. I've demo'd Yamahas, Harley and a Goldwing F6b, when I test rode the Victory Cross Country, I told my wife that was my next bike. Don't hate me but I'm still on it 8 years later.
It sounds like you have been on some great bikes. I have no problems with that at all. Ride what you love and have a great time doing it. Thank you for watching!!
My nephew had a Cross Country and we went on a 3400 mile trip. He always beat me on gas mileage by almost 10 mpg!! I demo rode one as well as his and they were great! I did end up with an Indian though..
I bought my 2005 Suzuki Boulevard C90T without a test ride. It was the second best bike I've ever ridden. It was first until I bought my new Gold Wing. Nothing has ever compared to this Gold Wing. I'll never own another bike besides a Gold Wing. I did test ride the Wing, but I didn't go far. I already knew I wanted one, and their reputation speaks for itself.
I bought my 21 RG from white lightning but we made a right and jumped back on freeway very short ride but I already knew I wanted it absolutely love my bike. And now way I'm buying without riding. I've worked at automotive dealerships since I was 20 something test rides are a must.
Oh yeah, those new bike test rides are always so short and sweet. I miss the days when White Lightning would do H-D Demo Days. That was always so much fun! Thank you very much for watching!
another good place to do demo rides is during rallies where companies come into the area to allow demo rides. I know last year harley had demo rides setup at smokey mountain hd for the smokey mountain bike rally. When you go to daytona bike week and sturgis you will find all kinds of companies that are setup for demo rides with just about all their bikes they have available to buy. good video and done that loop a time or two myself on accident the first time being never went that way before and decided to that way just to see where it led to. just adding a non pressured idea and way to demo ride a bike away from the sales people for the most part.
That's a great point! A few years ago I did a demo ride on a Sportster S at a motorcycle show. They put you on the bike and turned you loose. It was so much fun. I hope you are doing well and thank you for watching!
@@TyFromTennessee im doing ok just waiting on hd to get their back order scheme over with so the dealer in south dakota can get the parts they need to fix the bike so i can go back up there and ride it back to TN. but otherwise yep where I've ridden both the s and the lowrider st but sadly though with the way how hd keeps this back ordering thing its got me rethinking the lowrider st being the next bike because I'm not gonna deal with the bike being in the shop for a month+ waiting on hd to send parts that are commonly failing on the m8s in order to be out riding. take care and hope you're having a great day. its too nice to be sitting inside today and not be out riding thas for sure.
They are very important!! I like doing the demo rides at Sturgis. We can take different bikes on the same roads back to back for an honest comparison. That's how I ended up trading my Harley Ultra for an Indian Road Master. We road them on the same roads within a half an hour apart so the conditions were the same and we had the impressions of them fresh in our minds. I couldn't believe how much better the Indian road compared to my Ultra that was a few years old so I went right to the Harley demos and road a new Ultra Limited so I was comparing new to new. The Harley didn't even come close on ride quality. Needless to say, I bought the Indian.
If ya really want to be sure, rent. Didn’t even know that was an option for Harley until I stumbled across it. Current bike, 2016 SGS. Pretty sure I want to pickup a used Limited as well. Gonna rent one here this fall for a few day trip with the wife. 🎉
I have never test rode any motorcycle I have ever owned. Of course, I did my due diligence and resesrch prior. I knew what I wanted and what i wanted to do to it.
I did not demo ride my Heritage softail FLSTSI; however, I did demo ride my Pan America... dealership insisted on it... the Pan America is not for everyone. It has worked out good for me.... my demo ride was about four hours and solidified my interest in the bike! marcus
A four hour demo ride is awesome! I've take a PanAm for a quick spin and had a great time riding that motorcycle. Thanks Marcus and I hope you have had a fantastic weekend!
I’m still mad at VW for picking Chattanooga over Huntsville, AL!😂🤣 To answer your question the only motorcycle that I have ever bought without a test ride was my first one back in 2006. I didn’t have my motorcycle endorsement on my drivers license yet so I bought the bike and prayed that I would pass the test which was no given in Maryland where I was stationed at the time. They didn’t play when it came time to test you. I’ve done test rides on every bike since.
hahaha! Now, don't tell anybody in law enforcement, but over 20+ years ago I rode around without my motorcycle endorsement for about a year before I took the test. But that's just between me and you...
Thanks man! I really appreciate that. As of right now my plan is to hang on to it for at least 3 more years before I consider a trade in. Have a great day sir!
Man, I won't buy ANY vehicle without a test drive/ride and a thorough walkaround. I don't know how people can do that. I was reading years ago that Millenials and Gen-Zers skip the test drive a lot of the time... I just don't get it.
No I have not, I agree will demo rides, only for a person trying to buy a motorcycle. Not everybody and their mother, taking demo rides on youtube for content on every motorcycle. Only saying how I feel about demo rides

Yes sir. That makes perfect sense to me for sure. Thank you so much for watching and I appreciate your time very much!
Have not done any demo rides on any of the Harleys I've purchased, probably not a bad idea though.
Congrats on hitting 10,000 subs.
Thank you Kerry! It's been a grind for sure! Thank you so very much for watching!
Awesome video as always my friend, I’ve never done a demo ride
Thank you sir. Hope you're having a great weekend!
Nice video keep up the good work TY from Tennessee
Thank you very much! I appreciate your time...

Depends I like to see how the difference in between but when you go to buy a bike you know what you want no matter what

I hear ya! I try to do as much research as possible, but wow, I love riding a new bike. Thank you very much for watching today!
I have been by the vw plant one time a long time ago
They have a ton of property out there and I love to spend time in Enterprise South Nature Park too. Thank you very much for watching!
I'm one of those freaks that does not demo a bike.. I do a bunch or research and study what I want. I've not been disappointed at all. YET
There ya go Bob! That sounds like a good idea to me. Thank you for watching!!

2 things that one should always demo ride. A new Harley, and a Fiancee!
There ya go! I like the way you think sir.
I just want to ride. You know. Ride Sally Ride.
Yeah man, I totally get it! Thanks for watching and have a fantastic Sunday!
If you ever sell your road glide I’ll buy it!
Thanks man! I really appreciate that. As of right now my plan is to hang on to it for at least 3 more years before I consider a trade in. Have a great day sir!
I’m considering a speaker and amp upgrade. Are you happy with the system you got ?
Very happy with the system in my Road Glide! I honestly believe it has been worth every penny.
@@TyFromTennessee Thank you ! For your feedback. And Yes I really like the bike !
Yes of course
Thanks Larry!
I'm disabled. So I'm going to have to buy a nom test drive because all the mods they are going to have to do so I can ride it
That makes sense! I hope you find a bike that’s perfect for you.
