      So these need a encoder for the low and high beam? Or do they simply work w/o flicker with the Rams?

    This was nice because I couldn't find a decent LED bulb to use for my high beam so I just avoided it altogether and kept my halogen high beam and was planning on getting a light bar to use instead. Might have to pick these up.

    Awesome content man.. Much appreciated.. Going to swap out my highs for the JdmaStar 9005 led and the lows with the Innovited Hid.. I also have a light bar mounted in my bumper so the warm stock lights were clashing with the cooler hue from the light bar.

      Hey guys. Just hoping to clarify that LED high beam bulbs are just a horizontal install. Thats the LED bulbs facing right and left in my projector housing. I know it says so in the video, I'm just a worry type of guy, lol. Buddy sent me a set, and want to put them in today. Thanks.

    Thanks for the videos. I’ve done all my lights except the lows and highs. Just waiting for the right time. Which will be soon to do the HID lows. Can you do a quick video about where your mounted everything on the truck for the HID kit now that you’ve buttoned everything up.

    I'm at the point as well where I want to upgrade my high beams for distance. Already have hids in the lows, led in the fogs, and a couple light bars that do a great job at a medium distance flood. I'm looking to get a super long distance light now. I had 55W HIDS in my Subarus high beams that shined a LONG ways. I guess what I'm getting at is should I go the tried and true way of a 55w hid or a led for the high beam? The warm up time isn't an issue.

    • @BoostedMotorsports
      @BoostedMotorsports  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Do the LED for high beams. The lack of warm up time is nice for if you need to flash your high beams for whatever reason plus the LED do a better job in the reflector housing. Only hard thing is finding a small enough LED to fit in the tight space for the highs on these trucks!

  • @coltongriggs5339
    @coltongriggs5339 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    Been thinking about doing it but I never use my high beams. Also I have a question for you about the orientation of the low beam hid bulbs. I was getting bulb shadow from the return wire on the hid bulbs. I ended up having to trim 2 out of 3 tabs to get the return wires to clock the return wires at 6 oclock. Did you run into this issue at all? I wish I could spin the bulb on the base but it seems no hid bulbs are adjustable like that. I know you can adjust the clicking on most led bulbs though. Let me know what your experience with this issue is. I have run the gt bulbs and currently the morimoto hid bulbs. both brands wouldn't clock right without proper modifications. Also now that I have them modified and clocked right they are mounted as tight in the socket as they should be. May have to take it all back apart to figure out a way to get them more snug. I also want to find out if I can run a osram or Phillips hid bulb with my ballast.

    The light output and color temperature are definitely way better. A couple of questions I have with headlight bezels that have a back removable lid is if the led bulb is using whether a fan or heat sink, but are covered with the lid, how long of a life span do they have? Have you encountered any issues with the bulbs being covered?

    • @JDMASTARautolighting
      @JDMASTARautolighting 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Covers are not suggested to use as they will have an impact on the operating temperatures of an LED. Consider modifying the existing cover and apply silicon around the bulb to provide a seal or defense against the elements. You can also use an aftermarket cover that exposes the cooling mechanism to ensure a long life on the bulb. Most of our headlights are rated at over 20,000hrs, however, this is assuming a steady ambient temperature of 25°C.

  • @drunkninja13
    @drunkninja13 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Just to be clear. Will a regular led bulb with the cooling fan in the back not fit?? Does it have to be these wing style ones in order to upgrade to led? I got a 2015 Laramie. Looking to do hid lows and led highs but I don’t like these ones I would prefer the ones with the fan in them just to be neat if they can fit.

    • @BoostedMotorsports
      @BoostedMotorsports  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Its just super tight for the high beam so its hard finding one that will fit. You can definitely try to find a low profile bulb but there isnt too much room!

  • @shadowfire81
    @shadowfire81 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    So how long has your innovated hid lasted without any problems? Bulbs and ballasts last long? You run a 55watt ballast which apperently changes the color down a k so to get your 5000k did you run a 6000k? Cause if you put a 5000k in with a 55 watt technically it will change the color down to a 4000kish color temp. Haven’t seen anything commenting on that in your vids.
    Also with all the different setups you have hows your radio interference is there any cause that wouldn’t be cool. Your vids are awesome I’m just really torn wether to spend the 300 American on the fool proof headlight Revolution gtr lighting kit or running this cheap innovated his kit that I really worry about the canbus stuff. Hikari canbus adapter for a led on a innovated hid seems like a fluke to fool the canbus. Appreciate any come back you have. My rams a 2013 projector btw

    I have been hesitant to upgrade to HID or a LED setup. What setup would you recommend to start out with? Whats the easiest HID setup? Also is their a LED setup that would be equivalent to HIDs? My truck is a 2014 ram 1500 5.7 sport. Mine being a 2014 it should be a easier install than the 2015 plus.

    • @JDMASTARautolighting
      @JDMASTARautolighting 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      To answer your question about a lamp similar to an HID, our 6S headlights are an excellent option. They are rated at 4000lm per bulb and run CSP as the light source. This design competes with HIDs that run a 30W-40W ballast.

    Hey bro I believe we had this conversation a week or 2 ago and u prob had it in a past video witch I have watched all your videos but my memory sux lol. I put LEDs in headlights n foglights on my Durango with no extra resistor wire connector whatever it's called and have had no problems. Since the Ram requires more work 2 put leds in I wanna make sure I order everything correctly tonight. Do I need the extra resistor wires for my low beams or foglights ? I have reflector headlights by the way. Sorry for long message ur the only one I can think of to ask. And 2 cold here in NY to keep taking apart n playing with it lol

    • @JDMASTARautolighting
      @JDMASTARautolighting 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      This is an excellent question. Rams all run Pulse Width Modulation that makes aftermarket LED headlights flicker, but ONLY on the low beam circuit. The brights and fogs are plug & play for most Rams. Your low beams will need a 'DECODER' which utilizes an internal capacitor. The capacitor ups the amperage of the LED circuit allowing it to support the PWM system. The capacitor also prevents any pulsing signals from having any affect on the light of your LEDs. If you ever have any questions, shoot us an email or give us a call. service@jdmastar.com / 626 330 0711

    have you any idea for a plug and play solution to stop the fogs turning off hen you use high beam?

    • @BoostedMotorsports
      @BoostedMotorsports  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It can be done with a wiring mess but check out the tazer unit you can reprogram it 👍

    • @JDMASTARautolighting
      @JDMASTARautolighting 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Have seen this before and its very common. Most cars that have this problem share the ground from the fog light circuit to the high beam circuit. There is usually a fog light relay that grounds out both circuits and upon introducing an LED headlight bulb with its own grounded circuit, it creates a trail for power to bleed back to the high beams. Unfortunately, this is how your vehicle is made and to fix this would require you to modify your vehicle which is never a plug & play setup. If you had a much simpler vehicle, the LED replacement fog or high beam bulb would be a plug & play setup.

  • @shane401
    @shane401 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Bro on my ram with reflector housing do you think I need resistors or whatever they are called? If so headlights n foglights? If no even better lol. I cant remember if u said u needed the 1st time.. thanks

    • @BoostedMotorsports
      @BoostedMotorsports  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Probably will on the low beams at least!

    • @JDMASTARautolighting
      @JDMASTARautolighting 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      John is right, but its actually a 'DECODER' that is required on your Ram and ONLY on the low beam circuit. Other LED brands refer to them as Error Cancellors, CANBUS Decoders, Anti Flicker Module, etc. As long as it ups the amperage and uses a capacitor, the module will work on your Ram and bypass the PWM system to allow the LEDs to operate like normal.

    If anyone on here hasn’t already done so, look into the AlfaOBD App on Amazon and also the OBD dongle called OBD Link MX. This will allow you to tap into the computer on your Ram and tell it you have LED lights or even HIDs on your truck. No more resistors or other crap and no more codes. You can do a lot of other things with it too. Google the “AlfaOBD Ram” and read the forums and watch the videos. It’s amazing and only $120 for both products.
