  • The #CRF250X is an excellent trail/woods bike and a great bike for new riders but fun enough to keep the interest of any skill level. And can be found at very reasonable prices. If you are in the market definitely check one out.

I bought a 2013 CRF250X for trail riding. I went from trail riding a few times every month to track riding once every week! At 160lbs. it's sprung well for me and I can handle jumps with ease. Cornering in soft dirt and sand is more difficult due to the slow power delivery. I tried a MX bike on the same track, and it was more twitchy and nimble and had faster power delivery, but that's what it's made for. The X is a great all around bike though!

Hi I'm a 5 11 female rider and my husband rmz 250f is just a little to scary for me. Would you recommend this bike for a beginner just starting out?

    I’m thinking about buying a 2018 125 big wheel used... is that a good idea? I believe it’s around 2800 to 3000

I did a quick search on Facebook Marketplace and that seems to be a reasonable price for that bike. Honda's are super reliable so I'm sure it will run forever.

Good question. I’ll have to check when I get home. But I am 5 11 with a 33 inch inseam and I’m not quite flat footed. But I know you have some options, you can get a shaved seat. And do some suspension adjustments.

What’s the difference between a 250x and a 250f and do you think they will bring back the 250x?

Technically they made a CRF 250X and CRF 250R. Both are 4 strokes. Whereas rhe CR was a 2 stroke. The X was set up as the woods bike with a low first gear, softer suspension, and engine tune for lower end torque. The R of course is set up for motocross with shorter gear ratios and much firmer suspension. They replaced the X with the RX, which has fuel injection, but also still pretty firm suspension compared to the X from what I understand. The fuel injection would be nice, but it is a shame that they have sort of abandoned the X philosophy for a more aggressive “competition” bike. I think they are trying to compete with KTM, but they really had their own space carved out with the X. It’s a fun bike to ride in the woods.

@@FunGoingFast The guy asked about the 'X' compared to the 'F' (not 'R')... probably because he knows the 'X' is no longer made, and see's the 'F' is the current Honda trail bike.

@@PaulGaudet1 The X is an F as well. The F used to designate 4 stroke vs 2 stroke when companies were making both. But Honda stopped making at 250 2 stroke in 2007. Then it was just the CRF-R or X. Now they make a CRF-R, CRFR-S, and a CRF-RX.

@@FunGoingFast the f in crf stands for 4 stroke. The crf250f is a new bike where the F specification stands for fun. It’s a small playbike.

Would you say the stock headlight is good enough to drive in the dark or should it be upgraded?

Its better than nothing but the replacement LED lights are a lot better.
