This is my new bike a 2006 CRF250X and it's fast! The previous owner opened up the air-box, jetted the carb and slapped an exhaust from a YZ250F on it so its quite a bit faster! Sorry about the bad GO-PRO angle.
Few things to check are the carburettor. It has fine jets which can easily be blocked by dirt or sand. Make sure the air filter is clean and inspect the carburettor, make sure the jets are clear. Make sure you have fresh fuel. If that doesn’t work then another thing to check is valve clearances. Watch a TH-cam video on how to do it on your bike and make sure they are within spec. Earlier CRF’S are renown for their valve clearances to shift making it hard to start. I hope this helps, if you have any questions just ask.

I do mainly trail riding and the odd private track day along with our little forest track. The 250x is great for everything in my opinion. With an r cam and higher compression piston it hauls ass anywhere. A 450 would be fun though😂
The 250x is so underrated I love mine so much
They so are. I’ve drag raced a 250r and it keeps within half a bike length and then it gets into fifth and the 250r is history😂

I believe it’s an 06 250r front plate. Secured by cable ties haha

Crf250r front number plate. Doesn’t bolt on but zip ties work just fine😂
