- Tested my brand new Garmin Fenix 6X with a run at the Spartan Beast race in Windsor, UK.
The GoPro footage contains all the Beast obstacles and I highlight the pros and cons of the different watches I've tried at these races.
Oh, and I qualified for the OCR World Championships at this one!

Mark, two top tips for you. On climbing a cargo net use your hands on the vertical strand as you climb and place your feet onto the horizontal strands either side of the vertical strand being used by your hands. This reduces the muscle strain in taking up any slack in the net as you climb up the net and helps keep the body from moving around. Secondly when crawling along the horizontal rope you are correct in your deduction on being on top of the rope. However use your non dangling leg to push you along the rope (your legs are stronger than your arms) in conjunction with your arms. These techniques will help conserve your strength.

I run 6 to 7 days a week got the Garmin Instinct I like it a lot next purchase will be a Fenix
the navigation/mapping is so much better love to hike outdoors

Absolutely love the video! Had a question for you. How is the Optical Heart Rate Sensor? Did it seem too be spot on or do you use a chest strap while in competition/training. I've heard there are complications specifically with the 6x models. Thanks!

Hey i've read reviews that the sapphire model has a blue hue to it compared to the non sapphire version. How's yours looking? Easy to read and no blue hue?

I was there in the heat before you! Its been nice to revisit the course watching this back.
I had a stinking snotty cold, sore throat, banging head ache and it had been raining for 2 days straight prior so I knew it was going to be a boggy one.
I had the same thing with 1st place women come past us, made us ramp up out pace by tons !! Until she left us for dead and we couldn't catch up anymore lol

I thought the olympus was easy but when i got into it it's very awkward, i fell off just one more reach to the bell. gutted
@@MarkLewisfitness the twister same as bad very slippery, so i fell off on that one and the hoist i failed on it too. I'm only 58kg and pulling 70kg is impossible I made it halfway but the barrier is shakey where I put my feet against so, I released the rope instead. lol

Listening to you diss the Apple Watch was like listening to a 4yr old trying to convince mommy to buy a new iPhone cause the old one was broken which it wasn’t . There’s NOTHING wrong with the Apple Watch , your excuses were pathetic , I would have much more respect for you if you just said yeah I brought the fenix 6 cause I could and i wanted it . I have both and use both all the time for golf , hang gliding , work notifications and gym .
