I wanna say that when I was kid I always had a big appreciation for desert themed locations and big factory like buildings in videogames. When I played Mania years ago Oil Ocean was an instant hit for me, I genuinely love this level a lot. Having some great composers like you have a take on this level music is so hype to me so thank you for the wonderful work.
Funny bit is that John wasn't even planning on doing this. I came out of the blue to tell him about my concept of making Oil Ocean super funky and ask him if he was interested, and he said "oh what the hell" and decided to help me. And thus, this is the result!
This is a reimagining of the original song, I've been transcribing it for the past like half an hour, and I keep second-guessing myself, unlike the original. There is just so much being thrown at you melodically. You two are nuts, I'd love to hear more stuff like this from you guys.
And that you will! John and I will probably keep doing occasional collaborations for quite a while, assuming we can keep finding time to do it. I'm so glad you enjoyed this remix! John and I had loads of fun making it.
Hate to add on to the glaze train, but this is amazing. Especially when isolating the drum and bass and hearing the 3 tones you've set up for the Ryu Umemoto bass. Cool stuff.
I might make a deconstruction video of it because the bass is something I'm very proud of. It's so interesting seeing how everything comes together and works in tandem to create this big beautiful thing. And of course what is an Uhrwerk collaboration without my signature dynamic basses?! I'm quite proud of my custom patches!
