I was chatting with Noah Copeland a week ago on a podcast and he spoke highly of you and your work, so I decided to check your channel out, and WOW. I seem to be in a bit of a minority in that I enjoy most of the Sonic Superstars soundtrack, and you've bought a heck of a lot of energy to this track that I already loved. I always love picturing how these games would look on 16 bit hardware and your music sets the scene perfectly.
These are the kindsa results you get when your chiptune artist is really working with software trying to simulate the true mechanics of FM and not just pre-recorded bits and pieces of old games. They can really flex it to unimaginable lengths and shit's beautiful.
i love this picture of trip. shes so silly. shes a silly willy. she is a goofy girl. she is uppie down. she is so wacky and weird dizzy mode. i love her so much
@@mauro27279 I agree! Yes, in "Sonic 4", although there were a couple of good Tracks, like "Metal Sonic" (Not from "Sonic CD", but which is after "White Park Zone Act 3"), "Death Egg Mk. II Act 1" or "Splash Hill Zone Act 1", but these Instruments just hit the ears. I've heard these tracks in a Normal 16-Bit version and they sound much better than the Originals.
He was never gone, whoever decides shit at sega is just sabotaging him by insisting he makes to make all his music affiliated with a "classic sonic game" to sound like it's from sonic 4.
it's funny how so much of Jun's stuff just ends up sounding like lost 3D Blast tracks when done like this also, very solid approximation of the Korg lead at 0:56
A Superstars remix pack done by you and other big Mega Drive creators like Savaged Regime and RClay would be the Best Timeline we could possibly live in, just saying...
I made mods for sonic 2 and 3 origins version with John, 4sythe, uhrwerk etc but gamebanana took them down :( It took a fair amount of time messing with all the text files to do, but alas GB said nope
This track in particular touches on so many good points old school sonic . The launch base intro, the 3D blast motif, those smexy 16 bit drums. Definitely my favorite from the game.

Addressing your messaged at the 1:05 mark, you can disable the blurred background on the PC version by disabling Depth Of Field. The colors also pop out a lot better on PC with shadows off.
One thing that should be fixed in this game is the zone transitions from Golden Capital to cyber station and from cyber station to Frozen base. the entire game has cohesive transitions except this zone
I love reading the notes at the top! Reminds me of how Abigail Thorn talks to viewers in the subtitles of Philosophy Tube videos while the credits roll :D
god i was so sad that this one was one act out of all of them i was like "man that kicked ass cant wait to see act 2" and then i got hit with the patchy the pirate "thats it"
@@dietbep i think the 3 act zones are not as bad considering its either one of the fruit bonus levels or one of the character specific levels which i think are cool but yeah they should have just made every zone have 2 acts
Jun composed a lot of sonic superstars' music, some of them are more obvious since they have the sonic 4 like instrumentation but there's a few more arranged or polished by someone else that were composed by Jun
Absolutely legendary stuff as always! But yeah, regarding your comments, on PC, you can turn of DOF. Most of the stages improve a lot because of it... but in others, you can tell they were made with DOF in mind lol (Lagoon City mostly suffers)
Sky Temple is my favorite song out of the ones that use soundchips (I don't really know how to call them, sorry) in this OST, and that remix made this track even better
1:05 - yeah you can turn off the background blur in the settings, but if your graphics are on "high" then its enabled by default. i played the game with "high" graphics since i just assumed itd be the prettiest, but nope
I loved the original and I love this arrangement a little more. This is the zone that got my hopes too far up that this game would be better than Mario Wonder🤧
Not to sound like I don't appreciate the work and the high quality you give to this track, but hearing SMILE BOMB at he end pulled me out of the inmersion with the track. I love Yu Yu Hakusho as a pre-teen, so hearing the chorus segment literally crossed some wires in my head and made me try to avoid finishing the video everytime I listen over and over. It's not bad that you did this, but just how my mind works making it hard for me to enjoy.
Wow this remix song is Amazing it was too beautiful and look, SMILE BOMB YU YU HAKUSHO MIND BLOW I liked the original song, it's one of the mega drive songs from the game that I liked along with Press Factory act 1 and 2 and Frozen base act 1 ,Tails and 2. Please, I really hope you arrange these songs
If I can ask, how do you know this song was arranged by Rintaro Soma? I don't really see any documentation anywhere, unless I'm not looking at the right place
To be honest, I thought this was one of the weaker tracks. I was kind of suprised to see so much praise for it. I really just don't care for the initial melody, but that's obviously subjective. I just think it's kind of ugly. And then the song just sort of meanders for a while. There are four or five distinct sections that don't particularly blend well with each other. The third section isn't bad, I'll give it that much. This arrangement was really good though. I liked the parts that were added more than the original part of the song.

Ohhhhh my god that transition into the Virtua Racing replay theme breakdown at 3:04 is so smooth AND THEN SMILE BOMB????? 100/10
One of the Normal Jun Senoue Tracks! If he had done all the tracks in a similar style, then we would have said "He's back!".
Yeah, i'd love the OST more if he didnt use the damn Sonic 4 instruments
@@mauro27279 I agree!

it's funny because that lead instrument actually came from doomsday zone, i just extended its sustain
It's actually from the Roland JV-1080! Exact patch is Analog Lead
Throwing Smile Bomb in there really caught me off guard and seriously made my day
This is a masterful example of making those limited number of channels work for you, sounds full and exciting, great work.
You do really well yourself too lol

Nice remix, by the way.

Had to double take for a minute when I started to hear Smile Bomb.
Another man of culture, I see.
SMILE BOMB?!? AYYOO?!!!
The Smile Bomb jumpscare immediately made me think of Metal Sonic Hyperdrive the first time I heard it.
You did not have to hit us with a banger like that! 😭
Yep, I think I'm gonna keep this on repeat till my gravestone.
Smile Bomb showing up at the end was really quite wonderful
Ik its been there for a while but, I love the little commentary at the top. Nice side effect of keeping viewers engaged too ; ]
Sky Temple has a really good theme but this arrangement is so much more cleaner.
my favorite zone in the game, and probably my favorite sonic zone in general
also I like the smile bomb part alot because Sonic Megamix
That transition into Smile Bomb 😭❤❤❤
I already think Sky Temple is one of the better Jun songs in the game but this just makes it even better, good shit Tay

I immediately recognized Smile bomb 3:21 . Made me smile.
I’ll admit while I’m not a big fan of Jun’s contributions to Superstars’ soundtrack, this is one of his best. But your take is even miles better! 😄
considering the composition reminded me of it a lot i am not surprised you threw in smile bomb at the end, well done
I never played or watched Sonic Superstars, but this gave me Launch Base vibes
