  • I just haven't had the best of luck with AA/NA Sponsors. Here's my experience of when I had to fire one, and when the other suddenly died.

I had 5 sponsors in 2 years before i quit AA. After the second one i don't know why i kept on going since it was obvious they had no concern with my wellbeing, all they wanted for me was to step in line with the program and to forget that i am an individual as they all told me that i had too much individuality. I ended up quitting after my 5th step when i notice there was no change in how i thought or felt. This epiphany that they kept promising me just was not there.

Dude, I was in AA and had 3 sponsors in 2 years. I fired all of them and I’m better off for it. I haven’t been to AA in almost a year. I’m still sober. AA is no longer forced on people through the courts nationwide. It’s not a horrible thing but it has horrible people that have their own motives.

Yeah I feel you bro. TH-cam is my recovery now. Getting these stories off my chest & giving homeless addicts a chance to share their story is so fulfilling. 🙏🏽 I’m happy to hear you’re still sober bro. It’s a day by day thing for sure. Thank you for watching and commenting. -Daniel

A sponsor is just another Aloholic.

Enjoyed the story. Sounds like your sponsor was a pivotal piece of your recovery. I'm wondering why you stopped being a Recovery Specialist ( not sure that's the correct title)? If you liked it and I'm sure you were great at it. Just wondering...

Great share I Feel you, I don't believe the big book says you have to complete the steps with a sponsor, . Getting a connection to Higher Power is most Important. The steps Help make it possible. When I got connected things started happening. Problems worked themselves out . Only you can pick a higher power of your relationship and understanding. 👍🌅

It sounds like your sponsor spent a lot of time with you. He probably was fine getting his Sundays back. Sadly, most people don't stay sober. Sounds like you haven't been able to follow through all the steps yet. For long term sobriety sadly you will loose sponsors, friends, parents and spouses. Ive lost all of those in over 30 years in sobriety. Hope you find a new sponsor, bite the bullet and finish. Hey, BTW, that's awesome your boss lets you make videos at your job!

I never wanted a sponser i did better without a sponsor than when i had one it was like a pressure cooker to get a sponser definitely not feeling those sponsers its not my bag they can do more harm than good. Yes i said it.

In some cases yeah, just depends on who they are. They’re not all bad. Communication on both sides is a must in these situations. Hope you’re doing well. Thanks for watching. 🙏🏽

@@righteousmonkey I will be thankyou 😊 I'm searching alternatives to AA I don't do drama I'm not good with it, its the song that never ends so I want out of all that crap it's not good for my sobriety, nobody in AA will help me and I don't want their help because I can't afford it.
