Can you do an explanation on the hierarchy of the witch’s cult and why they don’t seem to follow the wills of the witches themselves/why they don’t seem to get along with each other such as Betelgeuse and Regulus fighting. And Regulus obliterating Pandora and Pandora just sending him away (probably more of what I’m confused about is if Pandora is a witch and if she is why does Regulus just try to obliterate her.)
The episode(s) where Subaru faces his parents and the life he left behind still makes me tear up even now. So many things went into it - his extremely supportive parents, the weight of expectation they and others indirectly put on him, his inability to go to school, and then the overcoming of that barrier and getting to say a final goodbye was so masterfully executed. For me that part was what took this from a great anime with interesting powers and well written characters to a true masterpiece.
Same a recap is much needed cuz ngl I totally almost forgot some moments and info in this anime of how long the break is. Tho I think it would make it up since I've heard this gonna be an 38 episodes
i cant fucking believe last time i watched re zero was in high school sophmore chemistry class, now im a sophmore taking chemistry once again in college
I watched s2 in my home country, never been to another country before. Now watching after moving to 2 different countries and planning to move to a new country.
Season 2 was hella confusing with the amount of story plots just clashing with each other one after another but it felt so good when everything was connected to be resolved one after another.
You dont know how helpful this video is to me. I dont remember 100% stuff in ReZero S2 cuz i didnt fully focused while watching it before. So this video is very great to help me keep up before continue watching S3.
Roswal knew that even if Subaru had Return by Death, only one Subaru, and by extent him, would turn out how he wanted it and be alive, so he was fully prepared to die to the White Rabbit in countless timeliness just for the chance that one of him might get what he wants.
I was going to rewatch season 2, but getting through it the first time was already a struggle. The barrier, the trials, the bipolar Garfiel, Satella's shadow... all that confusing stuff. But this recap made me remember all the cool things too.
7:45 It's important to note: Subaru would have gone with her willingly, even knowing her path wouldn't lead to the most direct solutions. He could not forgive her for what she did to Betty. (At least I remember it that way
crazy how literally all of the season 2 conflict and trauma was a bet between Roswaal and Subaru that didn’t change anything about the actual events of the story but did change the characters within it. wild.
I actually really love that Satella isn't just not the villain he thought she was. She is not even the villain he needed her to be. Imagine going through hell. Getting your body torn apart, die agonizing deaths over and over again while being unable to speak about it, thereby becoming isolated. The whole thing is eating you up inside, but you find the silver lining. Yes, the power is painful and almost seem closer to a curse than a blessing, but it does have some upsides. It lets you gather intel, it helps you predict people's actions and it gives you a fighting chance in an otherwise completely unfair world. It isn't a blessing, but it can be useful! The person that gave you this power is apparently evil incarnated, but you can at least thank them for giving you a chance to right your wrongs and learn from your mistakes. Then, this seemingly all devouring evil asks you not to use the power. No, they beg you not to use the power. The one thing you feel you can do. Being able to carry the worlds burden on your shoulder and this person have the audacity of telling you that you too are worthy of living. I absolutely love it. It really gives you the idea that the power was never meant as a means to harm Subaru or to keep him to herself (as I had somewhat theorized with the whole "you can't talk to anyone else about it!" part) but as something else entirely. I am not actually certain Satella ever meant to give this power to Subaru. The witch of Envy maybe, but not Satella, and I absolutely love that!
That revelation was honestly earthshattering, I had expected some sort of twist regarding the infamous witch, but not nearly to that extent! Really great writing!
Thanks for the recap. Could you please address the strange naming of the witches of sin? A fellow TH-camr (me7de) pointed out: Echidna: mother of monsters (gluttony in ReZero) Minerva: Goddess of Wisdom (Greed) Sekmeth: associated with war and thus wrath Typhoon: named after a monster with tentacles (sloth hands?) Camellia: reference to a Vampire story similar to Satella's story
This was a great recap, just one thing, unless i missed it you didn't say what happened to puck which is: Puck breaks his contract with Emilia in order to help her pass a trial in the Witch of Greed's Graveyard.
Thank yoooou! This was exactly what I was looking for! Though why is Puck asleep/trapped in the crystal? You didn't cover that here and that seems to be a thing in season 3!
I was just about to watch the new season and realize, i forgot literally everything so i came here, what a relief, btw how did subaru gain his power again?
If you mean Return By Death? It's unknown but it was given to him by Satella, the reason why is unknown. Invisible Providence was obtained when he killed Petelgeuse, as Subaru is highly receptive to the Witch Factors and could absorb them if he kills Sin Archbishop's. He is receptive, but doesn't mean he is in sync with them. Petelgeuse wasn't in sync with his either, which is why he got hurt and bled every time he used the hands
All that was needed to solve the puzzle... STRAIT BET. Also, that scene with all the witches and Subaru was super intense. It really re-framed Satella, making the truth of who she is and her motivations both more clear and more clouded at the same time

I only know you as the unyielding authority on Re:Zero who always reappears at the coming of a new season

Thanks for the content AniNews. Can't wait for your s3 episode 1 Cut Content.

Can someone remind why does Subaru gain those Sloth Hands?
" developing subaru through immense suffering" Perfect summary of re zero sam
Also arc 6
"Un-developing Subaru through immense suffering"
Being Subaru is suffering...
Absolutely, I really like when his plans come to a peak and the viewer finally sees him succeed
Like when he was finally able to get Elsa killed
True words lad. I Loved this episode so much. Even though it made me cry. It really shows what it means to leave your world forever.
Even with this great recap, season 2 is still confusing as hell lol
Subaru's default problem solver is to hit control+alt+delete
F6 *
I would rather say ctrl+z
More like delete system32
Alt + F4
I really needed this. Not necessarily because I had forgotten S2 but more because even during it I only understood at max 75% of what was happening.
Same a recap is much needed cuz ngl I totally almost forgot some moments and info in this anime of how long the break is. Tho I think it would make it up since I've heard this gonna be an 38 episodes
Indeed
Thanks for this, you saved me a whole rewatch. Took so damn long for season 3 to come out, I almost forgot key plot elements.
This summary kinda help me understand the entire situation cause last season I had no idea what they were fighting for
I ended up forgetting because of the split concur but rewatching it made it make sense
basically do stuff that makes subaru not die. (rabbits, elsa, roswald, etc)
Frl i was totally lost that season i guess the only worthy remembering was garfield vs elsa
I actually stopped watching cos the weekly episodes made me so lost loll. I think it would be better to binge it
Yeah I was really confused in season 2
The only thing I can never get over from watching second season is that rabbit scene
"I have goosebumps everytime "
starts playing doom music: RIP n TEAR
The creep factor of 'the first kiss' outdoes it in disturbing.
@@Raptorx911 agree to disagree mainly cause that was also disturbing in second season
imagine that scene in the light novel where it gets descriptive
i cant fucking believe last time i watched re zero was in high school sophmore chemistry class, now im a sophmore taking chemistry once again in college
the last time I finished season 2 I was just done with O levels, now I'm a 3rd yr MBBS student.
I was a senior in high school, now i'm a senior in college 💀
True, I was chilling in Highschool now the second semester begins for me
finished s2 when doing gcse chem now doing a level chem
I watched s2 in my home country, never been to another country before. Now watching after moving to 2 different countries and planning to move to a new country.
can we all just appreciate that Subaru's shoes with all the crap he's been in, still haven't fallen apart... must be some quality behind dem kicks!
Rezero is like kingdom hearts, nobody knows the story
Season 2 was hella confusing with the amount of story plots just clashing with each other one after another but it felt so good when everything was connected to be resolved one after another.
0:08 im guessing season 3 will also have subaru experiencing immense suffering
Thats a spoiler 😂
Jk
first half of season 3 is pretty chill, but second half is full of deaths
@@kaizu8326 the end of ep1 isnt what i would call "chill" 😵
@@TAREKOZAI kinda dont want to spoil it but it affected him so much that he said he felt sick
But the gore is now higher, Yayy!
Thanks!
Needed this recap so badly. Was considering rewatching everything
season 3 content please! I Cannot understand this series without your recaps/summaries/explanations!
If you are cofused, you are going to LOVE all the Sins and their insanely complicated powers.
@@Tonberry88its not that complicated tho
You dont know how helpful this video is to me. I dont remember 100% stuff in ReZero S2 cuz i didnt fully focused while watching it before. So this video is very great to help me keep up before continue watching S3.
We are so back! Re:Zero is how i discovered you and echidnut and used to always watch your vids for them. Did for danmachi too
Thank you for making this! I'm going to be watching the first episode of season 3 today and I needed a quick recap so this was very informative.
Awesome recap 👌 it triggered all the memories to be able to watch season 3 ep1 which has 1hour30minutes30seconds Thanks !!!
I felt like it had been so long since I watched this show, this was super helpful going into Season 3
I’m so glad you’re back to do these summaries all over again. Watching season 2 was so much more enjoyable because of you. Can’t wait for season 3!!
Just watched the first season recap and already out with the second. Thank you for your recaps!
thank you for reminding me why i used to root so hard for this anime and how i still remember subaru throughout
you're a life saver i didn't remember anything from this season except for rabbits
Thanks man, definitely needed this, i love this show but after 8 years it's a lot to remember.
Roswal knew that even if Subaru had Return by Death, only one Subaru, and by extent him, would turn out how he wanted it and be alive, so he was fully prepared to die to the White Rabbit in countless timeliness just for the chance that one of him might get what he wants.
Roswaal is genius and insane for that
literally just finished watching your S1 recap!
Thank you a lot for videos like that. Saves me a lot of time not having to skip through a few episodes to get back to date :D
Was about to start season 3 and definitely needed this seeing how long it's been. Thanks boss!
I was going to rewatch season 2, but getting through it the first time was already a struggle. The barrier, the trials, the bipolar Garfiel, Satella's shadow... all that confusing stuff. But this recap made me remember all the cool things too.
And I found it dragged on for wayyy too long.
thank goodness for your recap,
it has been so long since s1 & s2
Appreciate the recap. I was watching the first episode of S3 and was struggling to remember what happened in S2.
Thank you for this video. I came across it while waiting for a game download on my PlayStation. Excellent job! Subscribed!
7:45
It's important to note: Subaru would have gone with her willingly, even knowing her path wouldn't lead to the most direct solutions. He could not forgive her for what she did to Betty. (At least I remember it that way
I thought his conclusions and feelings about Betty to Echidna came after.
I suppose we'll know at some point later... 'cause Greed is back, baby.
I love this content. So glad I (we) have you.
Thank you for these two videos. I needed this
Always appreciate the vids bro. Looking forward to the “things that were in the novels but not the anime vids” 🔥
Thank you, perfect timing, time to watch season 3 episode 1!
so helpful, thank you. was seriously considering rewatching but you saved me the time
Thanks for the recap 👍🏼
Thank u for this needed this refresher now it’s all coming back
This is exactly what i need before season 3, tysm! 😘
Thanks for releasing this just in time for the "movie"! I'm glad I got to watch it just before the start of season 3!
Thank you for the refresher!
These recaps make me want to rewatch rezero.
amazing thanks you very much for the informative recap! you should use a De-Esser tho on your voice recordings!
crazy how literally all of the season 2 conflict and trauma was a bet between Roswaal and Subaru that didn’t change anything about the actual events of the story but did change the characters within it. wild.
i wasnt trying to watch season 2 again thank you so much man
I just re-watched the whole series with movies you just can't get enough of re zero such a great show
Man now i want to watch season 2 again because it sounded like such a banger in this video
Perfect timing! Was worried this would firsg come out later.
Roswall's swollen face 😂

done with the video , yeah season 2 was really good
Another great video!
Thank you so much! This helps tremendously for watching S3.
I usually need these but ive rewatched re zero like 40 times so im good for once
Thanks for the recap.

Always has been.

Do you think you could manage recaps for Danmachi and Arifureta as well?

S3 is gonna be the anime of the year..
Maybe in 2025
satella: hey, if you dont suffer hell, the moment you met the final villain you'll break.
Great video
Wow I like it
Thanks 👍
THANK YOU!!
Can someone tell me why Garfield didn’t do the trials in the irst place ? I forgot
Hey man, whats the sound effect you used for the death conter called? It sounds pretty cool, would like to use it as my message notification sound
For me S2 developed the main cast massively
Season 2 is peak
Thanks alot!
Thank you for this! I dropped season 2 halfway because it was so confusing and I didn’t understand anything but hopefully now I watch season 3
seeing at least 3 videos recapping the previous seasons of re zero is.... foreboding
